Logitech, Inc. has reportedly agreed to a class action settlement of a class action lawsuit filed against it in the Superior Court of the State of California for the County of Alameda, styled Christopher Parker, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated v. Logitech, Inc. and Does 1 – 10, Class Action Case No. RG15781276, alleging, among other things, that the Logitech Alert System, a high definition digital video home surveillance system, contained certain flaws or defects, performed unreliably, and that customers had issues using Logitech’s warranty program, allegedly in breach of express and implied warranties with Alert System purchasers and allegedly in violation of state consumer protection laws.

Logitech reportedly disputed these allegations and denied there are flaws or defects with the Alert Systems, that any customer was unable to get full warranty service or that it breached its warranties with any customer or violated any law.

Who Is Included In The Logitech Alert System Class Action Settlement?

The Logitech Alert System class action settlement reportedly includes, unless otherwise excluded, the following class:

All individuals in the United States of America who purchased the Alert Systems products of Logitech since August 10, 2011.

What Settlement Benefits Does The Logitech Alert Class Action Lawsuit Settlement Provide?

Under the Logitech lawsuit settlement, Logitech will reportedly create an $850,000 non-reversionary settlement fund to be distributed to Logitech Alert Systems buyers that is inclusive of any award of attorneys’ fees, costs, and incentive payments to the class representatives.

Settlement class members reportedly may submit a claim if they purchased an Alert System to seek a payment of: (1) $50 without proof of purchase so long as their email address is registered with Logitech as an Alert System customer; and (2) an additional $20 per additional Alert System camera with proof of purchase (up to a maximum of ten cameras).

Logitech Alert settlement class members can submit claims online or via paper claim forms.
