Cutter Repel Citronella Candles Class Action Settlement of Citronella Candles and Foggers Class Action Lawsuit.

If you purchased certain branded Cutter or Repel Citronella Candles or total release foggers (Black Flag, Do It Best, Eliminator, Green Thumb, Hot Shot, No Pest, Real-Kill, Rid-A-Bug, Spectracide, and TAT) between May 4, 2015 and June 7, 2021, you may be entitled to benefits from the Citronella Candles and Foggers Class Action Settlement.

United Industries Corporation has reportedly agreed to a class action settlement of a class action lawsuit filed against it in Phelps County Circuit Court, Missouri, styled Christine Mendoza, et al., v. United Industries Corporation, Class Action Case No. 21PH-CV00670, alleging, among other things, that United Industries deceptively marketed the efficacy of citronella candles sold under the Cutter and Repel brands (“Covered Candles”) and total release foggers sold under the Black Flag, Do It Best, Eliminator, Green Thumb, Hot Shot, No Pest, Real-Kill, Rid-A-Bug, Spectracide, and TAT brands (“Covered Foggers”) (collectively“Covered Products”).

Who Is Included In The Cutter Repel Citronella Candles Class Action Settlement?

The Cutter Repel Citronella Candles class action settlement reportedly includes, unless otherwise excluded, the following class:

All Persons who purchased one or more Covered Products in the United States during the Class Period [between May 4, 2015 and June 7, 2021].

“Covered Products” under the class action settlement means EPA registered citronella candles sold under the Cutter and Repel brands (“Covered Candles”) and total release foggers sold under the Black Flag, Do It Best, Eliminator, Green Thumb, Hot Shot, No Pest, Real-Kill, Rid-A-Bug, Spectracide, and TAT brands (“Covered Foggers”).

What Settlement Benefits Does The Citronella Candles and Foggers Class Action Lawsuit Settlement Provide?

Under the Citronella Candles and Foggers lawsuit settlement, United Industries will reportedly provide up to a maximum of $3,600,000 in payments to individuals who purchased Covered Products as well as other fees/expenses.

Citronella Candles and Foggers settlement class members reportedly may submit a claim to recover: (1) $7.00 for up to 2 Units for up to $14.00 maximum (Tier 1 – Claims without Proof of Purchase); or (2) full refund of the purchase price for up to 6 units (Tier 2 – Claims with Proof of Purchase). The final amounts paid may be reduced based on total number of claims received.

Citronella Candles and Foggers settlement class members can submit claims online or via paper claim forms.

In addition, United Industries has agreed to make changes to the packaging of the Covered Products.
