I need a class action lawyer to help file a lawsuit against ITT TECH. This is happening in VA as well. I have all of my paperwork. They failed to folllow guidlines about how our finicial aid works. Never talked about “refund” checks. I have a lot of fellow classmates with me on this. Just need some help. Please any advice.

My son needs a class action lawyer also. My son did not receive a refund from ITT Tech and now he is stuck with a loan to a school he did not attend. It was tax payer money, so I wonder how the tax payers feel about this.

It all started win I sent out for info on ITT tech. After I got calls every night tell I picked up the phone. Then they urgently made an appointment to go see the school! Win I got there it seem like they rush me thru the place. Then ask if I decided what I wanted to do. I said I think I want to go here but I need to get my G.E.D first I told her I was getting it in a month or so. She sad I need to hurry to get in before 2011. Then she had me take a small test and singed some forms. I thought they were to see if I qualified to even get in. Then they told me to come back for a financial aid meeting. That I postponed then without a phone call I get a letter That they in rolled me in to their program. Even Though i told them i need to wait to get my G.E.D. they wear like car sells men to me and my mom they tried to rush me in to the school in and get me a loan in less than 3 days.

I am currently in ITT in VA as well and it has been less than a year and I am ready to leave and sue them as well for misleading and poor institution they run. I feel like I’m in kindergarden, there is nothing to learn from them except that they lie. I am ready to help in anyway.

Hi I was a former student at the Clovis, Ca and I know how you fee;l I was there for almost 2 years I was signed up for there 4 year program and going for my bachelors degree in computer network systems, and I too felt like a little kid there because the entire time that I was there I can’t recall learning anything new or that I could really use so I later dropped out and am now currently attending school at SJVC in Visalia, Ca and I have already learned what took me months to work up to at ITT in about 2 and a half weeks, and ITT Tech doesn’t offer certifications or even mention that you can’t even get a job in the technical field without them, and the degree would be useless and I am pretty sure that you can’t really teach without the certifications either. One last thing there entrance exam is crap its completely useless since its all opinion based asking me if “I like my name”? or “Do I think everyone should attend college right out of high school”? and when I was finished with the test they said I had passed with one of the highest scores they have so far……..So ya I’m ready to help because I’ve sent in my paperwork to put off my loans until I graduate and I’ve set them in twice and I am still getting phone calls and there threatening to garnish my wages and disrupt my current student loans and prevent me from finishing shooloing getting my degree.

I obtained my associates in Software Application Programming from ITT Tech…two years later I have yet to find a job. I have worked extremely hard for my degree and am extremely frustrated to find out I paid over $40,000 for a worthless piece of paper. The credits are non – transferable which is not what I was informed when I first enrolled in ITT Tech. ITT boasts about their job placement rate but I don’t see how that can be when they send out incomplete resumes, invalid email addresses, and never follow up with recruiters. I am exactly where I started two years ago except now I am in debt. I have had to start from scratch at a real financial institution. I will join any class action lawsuit against these crooks.

      • Mike Andrews August 3, 2011, 3:36 pm

I agree with you completely, same crap happened to me when I graduated in 1999. They told me the credits were transferable, and the loan was very expensive. Still have debt with them. I will join in the fight against these crooks. I have all the paperwork to prove it.

      • Kelly September 6, 2011, 3:38 pm

I have a Bachelor’s Of Science Degree- Criminal Jsutice from there and I have not been able to get a job for almost a YEAR. When I tell them where I attended college they act like I attended to Rocco School for idiots. I WORKED hard to Graduate with Honors (3.76 gpa) and have nothing to show for it but a MOUNTAIN of Debnt and SALLIE MAE Chasing me like I were a crook! Thanks ITT for the lovely education…My dream of working In Human Traffiking Prevention as a Victims Advocate have been dashed and NOW my credit rating is down the tubes.

        • Frantz Davilmar November 3, 2011, 10:20 am

I am stuck in the same boat as you. I graduated from ITT TECH NORFOLK in DECEMBER of 2009, and I beleive that it was a mistake to ever attend that school. I’m deep in debt with Sallie Mae, and i don’t know how to even begin to pay off this debt. I’m willing to support any actions against ITT TECH.

“Arthur,et al. V. Sallie Mae,Inc. ” It’s a class action. You’re information must be send by August 31 2012. It’s a start and what else can we lose. Good luck

      • Shannon March 19, 2012, 9:30 am

I had a full time job when I went to ITT. They wanted me to fill out papers and say that they helped me find my current job. Really. They enrolled me in the wrong program and when I questioned it, they told me I only needed five more courses to get that degree also. They did it on purpose. Now, I have a degree in a field that I am not even interested in. And paying the loans back.

      • Rock April 27, 2013, 3:36 pm

I also went to ITT around 1999 and feel that the education I got was both expensive and obsolete when finished. In my EE class we where taught DOS when the whole world had changed to Windows based software. Could not and did not find a job in field and at 53 I am paying for a useless piece of paper and working in a field not even close to EE. And you can not get out of a student loan! Like the government will on my retirement.

    • Dee June 2, 2011, 2:30 pm

Did you ever get any info on this matter? I’m looking into it to for this year. I attended 2 years at the San Deigo campus andthen a year at the Seattle campus until I realized I was an idiot.

      Thanks you,
      Dee

      • Greg October 19, 2011, 3:54 pm

I attenden Itt tech for 3 semesters before realizing what a joke it was. I am refusing to pay the bill I need a class action lawyer to help me get something started. I am currently in debt 23 grand.

        • Eric April 30, 2012, 7:14 am

I attended ITT in Liverpool NY between 2004-2006. I found out that the school had lost it’s accreditation during that time and that, even though I have an Associates Degree through them, along with the 35 grand in student loans for the 2 years, that the Degree is useless. None of the credits can be transferred to even a state institution and it seems that employers now this as well because it hasn’t helped me gain a meaningful job in the years since. I don’t know if there is anything I can do about this after so many years but I know one thing… Those loans are sure not going away and I have no way to pay on them!

      • Nathan April 2, 2012, 6:38 pm

Thank you for the link. I am also in the same boat as all of you are. I was told 1 out of 9 classes were transferable. I received an AA in Multimedia however I was working toward the Game Design Degree. After seeing how much the loans were up to I finished. When I enrolled ITT told me and my parents that I would be able to consolidate my loans into one. That was a lie, even after watching the exit interview with the out dated video stating that we could. Sign here sign there, didn’t know the difference between subsidized and unsubsidized loans were other than ITT saying that I would have a little less options compared to the other. Now $70k+ in debt with everything combined $900+ a month is outrageous. I am going to use those contacts tomorrow that you posted. Thanks again.

THE LAYWERS NEED TO KNOW THIS ISNT JUST FOR 2008 TO 2010, THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS I GRADUATED IN 2004 AND NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT BUT A 30 GRAND WORTHLESS PEICE OF PAPER THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN AND REFUND ALL LOANS.
BEING PROMISED AN AWSOME CAREER, YEAH RIGHT, AND BEING GIVEN SUB-STANDARD BOOKS WITH MIS-SPELLED WORDS, WHAT A JOKE THEY ARE.

  • Amanda Hucks January 31, 2011, 3:13 pm

I attended ITT for 6 classes after being persuaded to enroll. The representative kept calling and calling until I agreed to come visit the school. When I got there they asked me why I wanted to come there and what I was interested in taking I told them criminal justice and then before I knew it I was taking a test and then I was signing a bunch of papers. The financial aid officer came in and said let me tell you how you are going to be able to go to school. She pulled out a bunch of papers that were for loans that I didnt tell her to get me but like a fool I signed them thinking that it was for a good thing to better myself and I would pay anything to provide my children with a better life.I started a week late because I was going to do it online because of my children it would have been easier to get my degree at home.I called to start my online classes and the represenative said to me if you can’t even find our website on the computer how is it that you think you are going to get a degree online.Anyway as I said I took 6 classes 1 math class that was a joke that was taught by the dean of the school he didn’t show examples of the problems and when I asked for help he told me the answer not how to find the answer.I took 3 intro to computers classes the instructor had each student read from the book the entire class she wouldnt explain anything about what we had read. She had no idea how to teach I dont even know if she was qualified to teach needless to say i complained about her and she was removed as the instructor.Someone needs to stop these people from scamming people who are trying to better themselves.I will pay for the books I have but I refuse to pay $4000 for something that was worthless teaching.I will not pay for the 3 computer classes because I could have read the book at home and apparently they didn’t think she was doing a good job either that is why they removed her as the instructor. The only thing I will pay for is the 2 strategies classes and my books and to me that is not worth $4000. Please help!

I also graduated in 2004. I’ve yet to find a job with my “degree” and none of my credits would transfer to even a community college. This school is a joke. I failed a “required” class and I never made it up, yet I graduated. I’m not sure how that’s even possible. And to top it off, I can’t get a job in my field because my degree is worthless so I have 56k in school loans and no job to pay it off.

  • Garren March 14, 2011, 1:57 pm

I don’t think that my degree was worth the over $80k that I have in loans at the moment from this school. I would like to know more information please.

  • Mike March 17, 2011, 6:51 am

I went to school, took out students loans, the class I was taking didnt have enough students so they dropped it, They didnt tell me about it they sent me a letter saying I have been removed from the school. So I get back in and then I get a letter saying Im enrolled and classes start on 3/18 and then the next day I get a letter saying I owe 2100 that I have to pay in 5 days or Im out, I called the fin. aid department and they said I dont owe anything loans paid everything in full. The next day I receive a letter saying 2100 was sent back to my loan provider ( which loan provider does not show) with no explanation. I called ITT back and they say yes I do owe them 2100 or I cant attend although they can not tell me what for. I have askeds them 5 times in th last year for a break down of what my loan is going for they will not give it to me saying it is against their policy. What can be done this school is ripping people off.

  • Thomas Stapleton March 23, 2011, 4:02 pm

I’m an ITT grad from 2004. Seven years later I have yet been able to use my $30k degree. Not only is the diploma worthless now but they actually mis-spelled my name on it.

  • Jayne March 24, 2011, 11:17 am

I was a student, recentley droped out because of the lies they told about how great the school was, they could never get my major correct. And when they did, they said they would credit me to my right major which never happen. (It’s a scam) they never refund any money to me. They also changed me for books twice, In classes were spent the whole quater were I did’t even open the books that was paying for. I really want to thank them for making it impossible to continue my dreams, and credit.

  • Sandra March 26, 2011, 4:01 pm

After requesting information online about the school I received a telephone call from a recruiter. She explained a little bit about the school to me over the telephone and requested that I come in for a formal meeting. At the meeting she described the benefits of choosing ITT which included convenient class schedules for working adults, entry-level job placement in your field, seventy percent hands-on learning, an assigned recruiter/counselor to work with you for the entire four years, and top of the line equipment related to my field; all of which I later found to be untrue. The recruiter also discussed how easy it would be to find a job in my field of choice because of how quickly it was growing. After our hour long meeting everything they had to offer sounded really great so I enrolled. The only requirement to attend ITT was to pass a skills assessment test. You had to have a certain percentage of correct answer to pass. I was told at that moment that it was a timed test and that if I did not know the answer to a question to skip over it because it only counted the questions that I attempted therefore if I only attempted five out of 50 questions and got them all right I had passed.

I passed the assessment with flying colors and began my first quarter in September of 2006. The first two quarters seemed to be close to what they had offered. This was because these courses were considered introduction courses which included Microsoft Office and Strategies for a Technical Professional. These required a lot of hands on with the computers. However, further into my degree when I began taking my core classes the hands-on education began to dwindle down to almost nothing. Many of the courses required lab time which consisted of us simply staying longer to work on writing assignments. One of the classes, CJ242 Forensic and Crime Scene Investigation, came with a separate lab workbook which we never opened or utilized. We had an outdated ASIS machine that we never used and an outdated superglue chamber that was used only once. Our only hands on for this class consisted of watching the instructor make a cast of a footprint and setting up a mock crime scene which included the placement of a receipt, a knife and some press on nails for us to analyze. Sadly many of the other classes offered through my field of study were administered with the same level of education.

By the time I realized that I was not receiving a proper education I had spent a full year at ITT-Tech. I began looking into other schools only to find out that none of them would accept the credits that I had already earned. This is one of the facts that the recruiter left out during our meeting. I did not want to lose the work that I had already earned and wanted more than anything to be able to say that I had a degree so I stayed. I stayed under the assumption that after I had completed this degree that I would be able to continue my education. I was even told by my recruiter in the beginning that I would be able to do so. In my graduating quarter I found out otherwise.

I had begun looking into graduate schools so that I could acquire my Masters and eventually my Doctorate. I had every intention of continuing my education as soon as I graduated until I was told by one of the instructors and department chairs of our state university that my degree would not be accepted (he also teachers at ITT). I began to research other schools only to find the same. It was not until then that the difference between national and regional accreditation was explained to me.

In addition to the above stated facts there are other aspects of my experience that merit mentioning. Those include but are not limited to:

    • Adjustment of Records: ITT is held responsible for their students’ attendance. It is required that no student miss more than one and a half class sessions of each course otherwise they would be dropped from that course. There have been several occasions when students have been marked in attendance when they were absent. I myself was amazingly able to stay in certain courses even though I had missed more than the time allotted. In the beginning students were allowed makeup days but those were canceled. ITT is required to maintain a certain percentage of attendance.

    • Adjusted Grades: On many occasions the students’ grades were inflated so that ITT could maintain a higher grade average. Many students would go the entire quarter without turning their work in until the last week or two and still pass with a decent grade.

    • Books and Materials: The material in many of the text books was of poor quality. The information was not updated in many of them and they were filled with spelling and grammatical errors. One of the books on Criminology had over forty spelling errors in the first chapter alone. When the books were updated it was most often found that the accompanying class assignments and materials were not.

    • The Instructors: I personally know of a few instructors that found other teaching positions after only a short time with ITT because they did not believe in ITT’s standards or methods. I still maintain contact with these instructors today. Also, many courses are taught by people who are not qualified to teach that particular class. Ex. Someone who only has experience in security teaching a course on probation and parole. ITT strictly states that all courses are taught by individuals who have worked in that specific field for at least two years.

    • Career Services: It is career services job to place students in careers of their study. They explain to you that they will be sending you out on interviews with employers in your field. During my four years with ITT I was never sent on an interview. I never received assistance with my resume until my last quarter therefore they never had a resume on file to send to potential employers. They also require that you sign a form stating that you agree to give them information on any jobs that you obtain in your field even if you obtained the job on your own without their assistance. They then take this information and add it to their job placement statistics and send it to headquarters. There have also been instances of falsifying information for your records.

I now hold a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice of which it seems I cannot use. I cannot use it to further my education or obtain employment. I have been turned away because employers believe my education does not meet their requirements. I currently owe approximately $60,000 dollars in school loans of which I am unable to pay. My payments will amount to over $500 a month starting this month. I am not alone in this either. There are an unimaginable number of people going through the same thing.

I strongly believe that I did not get an education that was promised to me and I honestly believe that if I were to acquire a position in my field that there is a strong chance that I would not be prepared for that position.

In 2006, I signed up. I was given papers to sign to see if I qualified for Salle Mae loans and I qualified. 2 days later I decided not to go because my life at the time was too stressful. The next semester, I was basically harassed by recruiters to try online courses. I signed up again just to cancel again. 2 months ago I started being garnished by Salle Mae for about 150$ a month and harrassed by other collection agencys!! I never set foot in any classroom. When I called them, they said I obviously went the first semester because I have good grades and attended every class. They said they have records of me dropping the on-line course and yet I’m paying as if I finished that semester as well. It’s basically “he said, she said”. I NEED HELP!!!

I would like to know more about a class action suit filed regarding ITT Technical Insitute. My grandson, straight out of highschool, a couple of years ago went into a enrollment representative. My grandson did NOT have a job but yet they signed him up for some student loans which they said the would do for him even without a job. My grandson was enrolled in the criminal justice program. He kept telling his counselor that he didn’t want to continue after about the 1st month because the instructors hardly ever showed up for their own class to teach!!! It was a sham! I believe that they railroaded him and promised him something that they did NOT get! I believe the person helping him issued false and misleading financial statements. Please help! My grandson’s name is Anthony Mulcahy. He’s a good young man and doesn’t deserve this. He also is a hard worker. Anthony was lied to and should not have to pay for something he never received! Ann M. Someone needs to file a class action against ITT and fast. I have a “degree” from them and it has done me no good at all.
Their degrees cost about $50,000, however, I have yet to meet anyone walking around using their ITT B.S, A.S, or A.A.S.

I wont even get into how they so easily sign into account to fix/complete your loan paperwork when you need money for books or to pay your next set of courses.

I think a fair exchange would be they can have their degree back and I’ll take the money I paid back.

    • iDuke July 17, 2011, 10:52 pm

I agree. fully. I would gladly give them the degree back for the money. :/ how are we suppose to pay these student loans back?

  • NikkyK April 12, 2011, 11:53 pm

I signed up for ITT Tech when I was divorcing in order to earn more income to support myself and my child as a single mother. I was told that the training was predominately “hands on”, that I needed NO previous training or experience in the technical field in order to successfully complete the program, be proficient in my field and obtain employment. I was also told that my class schedule would NOT change. There were VERY FEW “hands on” experiences and even then, not enough equipment to work independently. The only people in the classes who had a clear understanding of how to actually “act on” what we read in books were a few guys in the classes who had extensive technical knowledge and experience upon entering the program. The rest of us were lost. I was earning straight A’s simply because I had the ability to read the text and repeat it on paper. I hung in for a while, working full time, hoping things would change. Then out of nowhere they change my class schedule. My custody agreement had already been arranged and set in stone because I was promised that my schedule would NOT change. When I went to speak to administration about the lack of hands on training and the schedule change I was told there was NOTHING that could be done, my grades were good enough to maybe coast through even if I’d have to start missing classes, and there was no way to have my student loans refunded so it was best for me to just finish so I’d at least have the certificate despite the lack of knowledge and confidence I’d have to actually ever use it! – Needless to say, I had to drop out and find various “side hustles” (bail bonding, real estate) to try to supplement my income and provide for myself and my child. – I now owe about $10k in loans which interest and fees keep accruing on because I can never make the payments. What makes it even worse is that I have NOTHING to show for it! – ITT Tech is a SCAM and should be shut down!- Please let me know how I can join in on this lawsuit. I was taken advantage of by them back in 2002! They need to be stopped and we should NOT have to repay these loans! They should refund the money and compensate us for time wasted, money paid and credit bureau issues!

I graduated from ITT tech in 2006… I have nothing to show for it but a crap load of dept and stress to say the least! They over whelm you with promises and at the end they don’t come forth with an out come. I’ve been working and struggling to stay a-float in order to paying my bills not to mention my “tuition”… all for me, just wanting to farther my education in a bull @#%! “Institution” as they like to call themselves…. and all they left me was a bunch of empty promises and a boat load of dept!!!!!!

***I graduated from ITT Tech Green Bay, WI campass with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice with honors status on June 12th 2010. I raised a family, worked extemely hard, and worked hard in school! I chose to go back to school to BETTER my life! This was not the case at all! It ruined my life! What an extreme exhausting disappoint in a honest hard working Americans life! 4.5 years straight with no summer breaks of hard work for nothing!I came to the realization that there was an issue with ITT Tech, the recruitement information I was given, the loan expectance information I was given by the loan officers, the classes themselves, and the list goes on, after I was already to involved morally, time consumption and loans taken out that it was to late for me to pull out without leaving without my degree! I beg of anyone, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL! I feel so much disappoint for all others in the same boat as me, as I’m finding there are so many, to many! I am 80,000 in debt. Which for this type of tech school is a ridiculous amount! I will not deny the obvious fact that I was well aware I was taking loans for school, however, after opening my eyes and removing the blinders and denial, I was tricked into recuriment for starters. I am not sure the test I took was even a valide test and graded correctly for enterance. I was told by my rep who was later let go from ITT Tech that ITT Tech had the highest job success rate and career services guarentees the extra mile in exhibiting to helping you find a career in your field. The classes were held with professional and skilled profressors. I asked several questions on my credits transferring, and how I was expected to back the loans, and if these types of loans would ratio off my earned income. I was told by the rep that my credits would transfer anywhere at anytime. I was also told by the rep and recently prior to graduation by the loan officers, when I spefically asked about payment on my loans and that I would be able to work an affordable amount with my loans, along with the ratio of my earned income, on several occasions, I was told yes. I was told that the loans will be affordable payments, and they would negiotiate a payment of agreement that I could afford, not just a selected payment. I was also not aware of the amount of interest that was being tacked on to these loans! I have names on paper work of these key individuals envolved in repersenting this false information. Career service was a complete joke. I have emails where I have contacted them several times on assistance and information they would give me , on companies coming to the campass, that would end up mysterously not working out. They would ignore any contacts I would try to make with them, or if they did respond there would always be obvious lies, and no assistance. I reported an issue with the Dean while attending, and was ignored over and over, until I advised I would go to the board if my issue was not resolved. Also, During recuritment in early 2006 when I was told my credits would transfer, it was odd as in around 2009/2010 a admin came into everyones class to have them sign a paper stating credits would not transfer to certain colleges. They stated we need to sign it in order to continue with classes. IM SURE THIS IS ON FILE, THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO! Of course, most students felt forced to sign as they were already in to deep to leave with no degree due to not signing the paper. I remember that day, I felt the biggest pit in my stomach ever, and refused to sign it! However, I later ended up signing after being bombarded that I needed to have this signed immediately! I felt backed into a corner and helpless! I could go on! All of this,is and should be considered illegal in a court of justice! What about the act of 1934! This is all false representation!! Please dont ask to read the fine print, and read for days, and I will tell its misconstrued and some, or most of the given information is not in the fine print! What about going to school to better ones life! What has happened to this world that now schools are ripping off hard working people! Look at all of us in so much debt! I was accepted for a home, and now I am not accepted for a home or anything due to my school loans! Even though I have worked so hard, what is in store now for my family! Look at all these people impact, what is going to happen here, this is going to cause some pretty rash downstream impacts, and the economy and life is bad enough now, wait for it! Education is supposed be positive and better ones life! What has happened here! At any rate, this needs to be stopped! I am a business analyst and working hard for the same company for some time now, of course, after rigerous tries still have not landed a career in my field of study from ITT Tech, but hoping to take the knowledge I’v basically gained on my own in Criminal Justice the 4.5 years I spent there to be involved in a lawsuit, or class action lawsuit agains ITT Tech for everything they have taken from all you hard working people! Anyone able to come forth with anything additional to help please do so! I hope our president starts seeing whats happening to our education system and puts a stop to this! This isnt just your average scam, this is impacting people for life! Iwill be legally researching this. I think going to the general and the right lawyers and fact finding laws will be a start! Everyones information here is great! Thank you!

Here’s the thing about credits transfering – it all depends on the institution that you’re trying to transfer credits INTO. I’ve had my ITT Tech credits and my BS in ISS accepted by Western Governors University (WGU.EDU) – which is regionally and nationally accredited – and I’ve enrolled in a Masters program. My degree, my certifications, and my skills (and my drive) have been instrumental in attaining gainful employment.

I also found this information – not directly about ITT Tech, but “general” info about credits transfering, on one of the accrediting organizations websites.

      I found this information on:

      http://www.detc.org/frequentlyQust.html

      Q. If my credits do not transfer to a regionally accredited college, is my DETC credential useless?

      A. No! The sine qua non of an institution’s quality is not if its credits transfer: this is a false premise. The fact that regionally accredited colleges refuse to accept credits from another school because it is not regionally accredited flies directly in the face of national policies advocated by American Council on Education (ACE), the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), et al. The real issue here has less to do with the academic quality of the sending institution, and more to do with anti-competitive business practices of the receiving institution. Competition is heating up in higher education, and there are forces at work to control the inroads being made by “upstart” operators. Congress, the Department of Education, and the Department of Justice have been looking into this anti-competitive practice by higher education, and we suspect we will see significant activity in the coming months on this matter.

I am about to graduate from ITT Tech in Oak Brook, IL. next week. I will obtain an Associates Degree in Computer Network Systems, I stuck through the school despite hearing all the rumors for the past 2 years how worthless this degree and debt is for me. I was also misled and promised the world, with a failure to deliver on part of ITT Tech. I am scared to death that I now have over $46K in loan debt for a 2 year degree, and doubt any employer will strongly consider my education that I’ve obtained. From the recruitment process, through finance, through the horrible instructors and materials, and the extreme cost and terrible educational practices I feel I was misled. Please, please, please, if there is a class action lawsuit please include me, sign me up, send me the details so i can have this debt washed out or reduced. I’ll stand by you. Thanks.

  • Erica J May 28, 2011, 8:46 am

Please inform me if any class action suit against ITT! I was (like so many others) mislead and hassled by them. I earned a associates degree in Computer Networking Systems and I learned squat! I haven’t found a stable job no one recognizes this school! Now I OWE SO MUCH MONEY! I decided to go into the medical field, but it is hard to recieve aid since I have a huge loan for ITT! Someone please help…this school should not be in business!

  • Daniel Tyler June 5, 2011, 3:32 am

I would like to join any class action suit as well. I have an associates degree, and dropped out in my 3rd year at ITT, Mt. Prospect, IL. Poor educators, non-transferable credits, no job in the field and I feel they pushed me to continue even though I was struggling. I haven’t completed the course to obtain my bachelor’s degree and I still owe $80,000.00 including my parent plus loans.

    Please advise.

    • Rob N. June 6, 2012, 5:49 pm

I want to get in on a class action lawsuit against ITT Technical Institute as well. I graduated with a Associates Degree in Computer Networking Systems from the Mount Prospect campus.

  • Zach June 22, 2011, 12:27 pm

I too, would like to get in on a class action lawsuit. I graduated from ITT Seattle in 2010 with an SAP degree. I owe $40,000, and was recently laid off. My “degree” means absolutely nothing, as companies laugh at it. I want my debt paid so I can go back to a real school. Hard life lesson to learn.

  • dave beauchamp June 23, 2011, 8:24 am

Staff and recruiters of ITT consistently lied an coned me by willingly and intentionally leading me to believe that my GPA was not high enough to take the program of my choice. They told me that as soon as my GPA came up that they would transfer me back to my program. My grades did come up, and consistently I was denied being allowed to get back into my chosen program.
They get what they want which is there money, ( this is guaranteed via federal grants that I must pay back. ) However I was denied what I was paying for. Plus they were getting money from me for courses that had no bearing on my intended direction in my education. Even had I transferred back to CDD my acquired credits would not have been added to the required credits of my program, and they knew this.

  • Jenn June 30, 2011, 1:16 pm

How do I join in on the class action lawsuit? I along with many others have been screwed over by ITT Tech and have had enough.

I am inquiring if there has been any plans made to go forward with class action suit. My son attended ITT 2006-2007 and still unable to find a job. Most companies he has looked into won’t accept the degree from ITT. We are left with over $40,000 in school loans and no job.

Any information you have would be greatly appreciated.

My wife and I both previously attended ITT in Portland, Oregon. Neither of us finished there, yet she had almost two years invested. What they tell you (while rushing you through the paperwork) is that “sure, these credits will transfer to any university”. What they don’t tell you (unless you can decipher the jargon in the mountain of rushed paperwork), is that no FULLY accredited college or university will acknowledge ANY of their credits. My wife only had one term left when PSU told her she would need to start over. Luckily, I only attended for 2 terms. But we are still severely ‘in the hole’ because of their misleading ‘enrolment specialists’. I hope they get shut down, along with all the other trade schools that misrepresent the validity of they accreditation.

This school is a joke i was told by my financial aid that my credits would indeed transfer to a major college, and that i told him that i only wanted an acc. degree from them but it was very important to me that i finish out my education at a maj. college they are liars and thieves. I’m down lets do this lets shut this place down and get back our money so we can get a true education that we can be proud of, and also be respected by employers.

I attended ITT for about two semesters before I stopped attending because I didn’t feel like I was getting a great educational experience that was worth paying for. The teachers had no clue what they were doing and majority of the classes were spent doing work that we should have learned in middle school. Now I’m being pursue by the department of education and Sallie Mae for 4 different loans netting close to 20,000 dollars! I am a manager at a retail store have a 1year old daughter, I have no idea what to do. Please if anyone has more info on the class action suit contact me 3135257011

I went to ITT Tech for about 3 quarters. Deciding to go to ITT was the worst decision I have ever made. I decided to transfer to another school because of the stuff I started hearing about ITT Tech. I even had a teacher tell me about all the inside happenings that goe on there and how ITT Tech isn’t even accredited and she told me to get away. The teacher ended up leaving there herself and actually started teaching at the school I am attending now. The day I enrolled, financial aid appeared to be fine and normal. I got my loan from the Department of Education and Sallie Mae after they had already made me jump through hoops to try to get approved at their banks, which was odd in the first place that they didn’t go for Dept. of Education in the first place. When I decided to transfer, I called Sallie Mae, the Dept. of Education, and all the private banks ITT Tech uses (in case they were trying to pull something, I needed to cover all my tracks since I heard about what they do). Everyone I called said I did not have an account with them. I only had accounts with Sallie Mae and the Dept. of Education and they said the loan would carry over to the school with no problems.

Six months later, I started getting bills from a place called ACS to pay a $21,000 student loan. I looked this place up and found all over Google how they are part of a scam. They were relentless. Calling me non-stop and sending me letters and bills in the mail. So I called them numerous times, faxed them numerous times, and emailed them numerous times to prove to me that I owe this money and I got a couple automated responses and nothing more. I even went up to ITT Tech to request a copy of my file to see everything that I had signed. Their body language indicated deception as they told me they’d make copies and mail it to me. I never got it. I called and told them and they said they would mail it that day. Still nothing and this was a year ago. After I kept after ACS to show me proof (i.e. a signed promissory note) I stopped getting harassed for a good 3 to 6 months. I thought everything was good and that they couldn’t come up with the proof and gave up.

At my new school, I told the financial aid director my problem and he said that he’s never even heard of ACS and he pulled up my entire loan history, even from ITT tech, and all we saw on there was Sallie Mae and the Department of Education that covered all of my quarters.

About a month ago, a new company started relentlessly harassing me. They are called Student CU Connect. Of course, I Googled them and found no paper trail about them (not even a website). I just saw a PDF document talking about how they and ITT Tech are now partners and how as a team they “help” students get “loans”. They have sent me a couple of threatening letters and have called me relentlessly for $21,000. I spoke with a seemingly “nice” guy from there named George Howser and he listened to my entire story and he said that he’d do everything he could to find the signed promissory note. I never heard back from him even though he told me it would only be a few days. A couple weeks later, a woman named Erika Garcia called me and I told her the same thing. She told me she did have a “signed” promissory note. She emailed it to me and it was from Ely Lilly (one of ITT Tech’s private lenders). Ely Lilly was one of the companies that told me I did not have any loans with them, and more than one person from there told me. Before I left ITT tech, I tried to make sure something like this would not happen, that’s why I asked more than one person. Well, the document did not have my signature. It said “electronic signature on file”. That’s not really proof because it was not I who filled out the document and they have yet to show me said “electronic signature”. I have since blocked their number so I haven’t gotten any more calls.

The thing is, how could I possibly owe $21,000 in the first place? We did the math and it doesn’t add up. I was not there long enough and did not take enough classes to have $21,000 in loans.

I am trying desperately to find free legal aid (because I am low income and cannot afford a layer) or find a class action lawsuit to join. I’ve done research and I have seen that this is happening to so many people and has happened to so many people already. I even know a few people myself who are going through this. Yet, ITT Tech is still in existence and ruining people’s lives even though this scam has been going on for years. Something needs to get done about this. My biggest fear is that they get away with this and I have to end up paying these frauds $21,000 on top of my legitimate loans.

I am mentally and emotionally suffering because of this. I have developed an anxiety disorder because of this and am always on edge. Every time my phone rings or I get mail, I start to panic and my heart races because I am afraid it will be one of ITT Tech’s minions harassing me. Its so bad that I have been shaking and holding back tears the entire time I was writing this.

I just want to put myself out there and reach out to anyone who could possibly help or join a class action lawsuit with me or even tell me about one to join so I can put an end to this and move on with my life. If anyone wants to join me or want me to join them or have advice, please email me at neuronster@gmail.com.

i when to ITT and graduated in 2008 for my BS in criminal justice. first they said they would help with job placement and they havent at all.. they also did not explain to me how the money was beind distributed all they did is every 2 quarters call me in the financial aid office and make me sign papers and run my credit for loans.. i taught it would be good and they promosed it would be ok and that i would have no problem paying for them.. also not once they they ever give me any options of being able to pay for my clasess out of pocket. as i know know that you can pay for classes but they made me feel like if i not get a loan i was going to get kicked out. and they kept putting more pressure on me to keep signing my student loans.. then my last year of school i come to find out that all along my name was being mispelled and that is why i was not getting grands from the governement. if not i would have gotten way more free money.. but i guess it was just convinient to get a loan under my name just so they could have their money.. we are in 2011 almost 3 years since i graduated from itt i have yet to use my degree and when i call for job placement for criminal justice instead of them helping me they tell me that in that field they cannot help look for jobs for u because u have to look and apply for all of them youself.. what kind of crap is that…they should have said that in the beginning and i would have never even waisted my time in that school.. now im left with 60k of loans and i dont get how come i owe this much when i got over 30k of free money… this has to end seriously..

  • Beth August 11, 2011, 2:00 pm

I also was directly lied to & only attended the school because I was promised my credits would transfer in 2001-2003. I find it amazing the commercials now must state “credits unlikely to transfer”. At one point I was contacted by a DOD (department of defense) employee stating the school misused student information which I was also one of those. I would be very interested in joining a lawsuit as well. When I attended in Webster, TX we even got the whole employment staff terminated because we pointed out all they did was retype up green sheet ads such as McD’s & many others. Please feel free to contact me regarding this corporate scam!

I would also like information on a class action lawsuit.

I graduated for my AS in Criminal Justice on March 14, 2011. My student loans just started hitting, and I owe over $40,000 in student loans; I found the ORIGINAL enrollment sheet that I signed that says “Total program summary cost: 17,198.00.” I was told, by my “representative”, that my TOTAL school cost would be 18k. I now have loans for 40k, AND ITT tech sent 1,103.00 to COLLECTIONS without telling me. I started getting letters from collection agency GRC saying that they’re going to tank my credit if I don’t pay immediately. I called up a few of my school friends, and they all said the same thing; they graduated the same time, and they have student loans ranging from 28k to 5ok+. So if this isn’t fraud, someone care to explain to me how several students who attended at the same time and graduated the same time all have HUGE differences in their student loans?

Oh, and to top it off, I have almost $20k in PEAKS private loans, at an interest rate of 11.25%. I called and asked for help in my payments because I can’t afford it, and (no joke) they told me to “call your other student loans and tell them you can’t pay. There’s nothing we can do for you.”

    Help =(

  • steve beddoe August 29, 2011, 4:48 pm

Itt has pretty much just taken my money and no given me anything

  • steve beddoe August 29, 2011, 4:51 pm

In order to understand the situation let me tell you about the events that have taken place.
I Started ITT Tech March of last year I was getting very good grades. I did notice that there were people that would slack off most of the quarter then copy people’s assignments that were handed back and receive the same or equal marks as I did. I felt it wasn’t fair but I figured that a degree is what you put into it and if you don’t know the stuff it would just hurt them in the end.
My problems started about two weeks into 4rd quarter my car broke down and the warranty people that I gave $1600 dollars to would not pay for my car to get fixed. I found out later that they were filing for bankruptcy. I live in Placentia, Yorba Linda area and the bus routes are horrible. I did the best I could and finished the quarter. My grades did dip I got a B in class that I should of aced. Not having a vehicle because the repairs to my car were estimated at $7,000 dollars I also lost a very good paying job. I manned up and endured just like everyone has to.
Well if that wasn’t enough I got into a car accident while driving a classmate’s vehicle because he was unable to drive due to the medication he was taking. I girl rear ended up on the 91 freeway and then we were broadsided by a semi truck. I had serious back injuries and still having problems. I was told by ITT tech that if I dropped I would have serious issues with my financial aid and loans. I did my best to continue. Having back problems I had to endure a 3 plus hour bus trip to orange campus and carry my books and toolkit/ I missed some classes due to the fact that I was on pain meds and that I was in serious pain. Two of the 3 instructors help me the one instructor Ms. McGee seemed to not give a crap. I wrote her a letter that never did get answered asking her how I got an A in her class a quarter before and didn’t turn in the term paper and the next quarter I turned in everything plus the term paper and got a C+. I was very upset about the C+ this made it so I would no longer be on the dean’s list. Well about this time my finances and due to the fact I was not able to work I pretty much lost everything. I had to give up my place in Orange County and move to West Covina. I contacted West Covina and did the paper work. I received good news also that I was awarded a cal grant do to my grades. No thanks to ITT tech I applied for this grant and I thought I wasn’t able to qualify due to the fact ITT Tech couldn’t get my grade verification out in time. Luckily thanks to Fullerton College they automatically send out grade verification and I qualified. I told West Covina this and the checked and congratulate me at the same time the day before my classes were to begin I was told that my financial package was not acceptable and that they could not transfer me. I went to orange campus and ask them why it was because of 2,000 plus dollars that was outstanding. The orange campus was willing to accept it but the West Covina campus probably didn’t want to because it would make their books look bad. Well so now I’m just a $$. Well this last quarter I basically missed a lot of classes. I have no idea what’s going on and I learned nothing. My grades are screwed up and it is because West Covina didn’t want to look bad in their books. I repackaged my financial aid for the next year and everything is covered the Cal grant hasn’t even been touched. I am not at all happy with what has happened. I don’t blame ITT Tech for my problems at the same time. I didn’t expect ITT Tech to kick me while I was down. Now im faced with a dilemma I have to take a final that I know I will fail and ITT Tech gets their money I’m stuck with crap for my grades. Worst thing I didn’t learn anything this quarter.

  • Timothy Ballato September 2, 2011, 8:35 pm

How do I file a class action lawsuit against ITT Tech? They informed me that they were a nationally accredited school and that my classes would transfer to state colleges or universities. That is not true!!!

I’m currently attending ITT Online in the Computer Forensics field. Numerous times I’ve found outdated material in the lesson presentations, which is kind of a big thing when you’re taking a class dealing with computers. I shrugged it off most of the time, until last week.

According to my lesson presentation, zip drives are becoming ‘more common’….in October of 2011? Really? Okay, a little outdated, but I assumed the rest of the material would at least give us the basic idea, and we could research the rest. No biggie right?

This week, we’re learning how to install Windows 98 and upgrading to Windows 2000. Hold up….what?

I just started in June, and I’m getting out.

  • Carter October 7, 2011, 5:08 am

Left these out of my last post. ^

Unfortunately, the zip drive screenshot doesn’t have a date. The windows one does, both where I hovered my mouse, and on the website itself.

I started Itt-Tech 4 quarters ago. I was told I was getting student loans and was told I would not have to pay them for six months after graduating. I was also told that credits were transferable. I was going to move to California from Washington so I called Itt-Technical schools there and none of them offered my program, Software Development. I then proceed to call all the community colleges in the area and they would not transfer any of the credits. At the end of the third quarter I told the financial people I wanted to drop out because I could not continue the program. They said it was ok but I owed them 8,000$ by the end of September or they would send me to collections. Apparently I was on a “temporary” loan from Itt-Tech while they found me a student loan. I was then coerced into taking online classes so my student loans would “kick in”. I just called to drop the two classes and still have to pay for them even though I have done nothing in them. I am very frustrated and not sure if I have any course of action.

I have similar complaints about the poor quality of education. I have witnessed many illegal practices both in attending ITT and working as a tutor there. I owe a lot and have little to show. I was high honors 3.98 GPA and I have an IQ of 150 … I am no idiot (unless you count enrolling at ITT) I have tried to find employment and it is near impossible. I worked one job for one week, and according to one of their administrators this Career Services for LIFE they promise is not what they say … if they find you one job their numbers for graduates employed are met. Finding a second job for you does not benefit THEM so don’t expect them to help you !

i attended ITT TECH in 2006 and i was asked if i wanted to get a personal loan i explained to the staff that i didnt want to because my credit so the guy told me to start school.I started school and went for about a month before i realized that i was wasting my time and then one night my teacher came to class and said that we all are wasting our money and we should find another school, being that i was becoming a father i had to work two jobs so i could no longer attend left i checked out at there office and the young girl behind the counter told me i couldnt withdraw i had to wait for two weeks so i spoke to someone else and they said i was withdrawed so a couple of years later i get a bill for a 6,000 dollar personal loan that i never seen or touched i asked for a copy where i signed and they dont have it now i owe sallie mae and us funds 18,000 for two months.I went back to itt tech to speak to someone and the person i spoke to told me that i didnt withdraw i quit and they were scarey acting and rude i dont mind paying for the two months or what i rightfully owe but im really getting screwed by ITT and i dont want no one else to get screwed

I am currently attending Itt Tech in Madison AL, im suppose to graduate in June with my Associates degree in Criminal justice. when i went there to look at the school it was rushed and they didnt even give me time to think if i really wanted to go there, they had set me up for an appointment for finacial aid. Sadly i decided to just go ahead and attend, because they assured me that it was hands on and i would be having hands on with just about everyone of my CJ classes. It has been 2 years and im about to graduate and i have still yet to have any hands on. after 2 years of this school somehow my student loans have come out to be $58,148 and that’s without interest. I just learned this week that 7 of the CJ classes that we were “REQUIRED” to take has been taken out of the CJ program one of which is a computer class were u take the computer apart and put it back together. There was no reason for the CJ students to have that. We didnt have a science class like we were suppose to, but it is in the new CJ program, which doesnt start until after i graduate. Which means we didnt get the right education. Not to mention, in the majority of my classes we spent alot of the time watching unrelated movies and played games such as scrabble. Thats stuff I can do at home and dont have to pay a dime. So now i have to pay for these classes that i didnt learn a damn thing in, which is unfair to me. I also talked to Sally Mae and they said my monthly payments would be just about $1000, HOW IN THE WORLD do they expect me to live?? I REALLY need help to find a good lawyer around here.

  • victor March 14, 2012, 7:29 pm

I started school at the Torrance ITT in Ca. Went 1 semester then left because it was bovious they were a scam. They can do this because in the paper work that they make you fill out, there is a clause that protects them from giving you a bad education. this clause is what protects them. It was put there by slick lawyers that believe that we are to dumb to weak to poor to do anything about it, and their buddies in goverment that make sure they get away with it. It is not only ITT all the independent schools are doing in order to make millions of dollars on people that are depending on their expertise to be succssesfull. I didn’t finish school at ITT i went on to a junior college. But I was charged way to much for the classes I took and If there is a class action law siut against ITT I would like to be part of it.

  • charlie Huggett March 18, 2012, 4:30 pm

I went to ITT Tech. and graduated witha Bachelor or APPLIED SCIENCE degree of Electronics Engineering Technology. There is a difference between Bachelor of APLIED SCIENCE and Bachelor SCIENCE. So To all ITT students/former students, keep this in mind; ITT is approved by the Department of Education and Reagience (explains the Bachelor of applied science) where as a Bachelor Science is approved by the Acreddited Board of Engineering Techology (ABET). ITT doesnt tell you this and alot of other things when you inroll. It is a ripoff and you will not get a job equal to the job surveys they post which are relating to ABET degrees not ITT degrees. BIG difference! That is why the majority will not get the job they want with the money that should be offered. One word sums it up; FRUAD! and lies, sham..

  • Rabeccah April 12, 2012, 10:31 pm

In 2006, I signed up. I was given papers to sign to see if I qualified for Salle Mae loans and I qualified. I went home, thought about it and 2 days later I decided not to go because my life, at the time, was just too stressful. The next semester, I was basically harassed by recruiters to try online courses. I signed up again just to cancel, again, before any classes started. 2 months ago I started being garnished by Salle Mae for about 150$ a month and harrassed by other collection agencies. I never set foot in any classroom. When I called them, they said I obviously went the first semester because I have good grades and attended every class. I have proof otherwise. It’s hard to be 2 places at once. They said they have records of me dropping the on-line course and yet I’m paying as if I started and finished that semester as well. I am now on disability for a severe seizure disorder and they are garnishing about 20%. My monthly bills leaves me -100$ My credit and livelyhood is screwed and I have anxiety attacks everytime my phone rings. It’s basically “he said, she said”. I NEED HELP!!!

  • Mitch April 27, 2012, 5:42 am

In 1995 I signed on with ITTTech in Maitland Fl…”graduated” with
a ” genuine imitation” Associates Degree that is useless, that was not recognized by any business , school or association that I presented it to over the years. Information ITTECH presented was such a joke as I could not even maintain the entry level positions requirements related to my field and was laid off as a result . As I read others comments I realize that they too have the exact same complaints about this unscrupulous school and their business practices. Then, they are allowed to be backed by Sallie Mae student loans. This school should be investigated now.
If this was a viable institution I’d say man- up and get on with it but ITTECH is a fraudulently presented institution in so many aspects.
I finally got a job unrelated to my field as a Lab tech then struggled yearly to pay this huge ever- increasing loan. The Horrible Harrassing Credit Collection agency pursues me . As others have stated ,this is out and out fraud presented by ITTECH to the unsuspecting public that are trying to improve their lot. I’m looking for a class action suit. 4/27/2012

    • Rabeccah May 2, 2012, 5:32 pm

I am also looking to sue ITT TECH. If you are still being harrassed, I am suing the 2 harrassing collection agencies. They are breaking laws and should be punished. The lawyers I am using are Smith and associates. their number is 312-361-1690. They are respectful, compassionate, understanding and they WANT to help. I’m also contacting my congressman in this matter. Obviously this is after April 27th, if you can use me, or if I can help in any way, contact me. beccahbadass@yahoo.com.

Help! I just waisted 2.5 years and 55000.00 on nursing school. I graduated with honors but they wont give me my diploma because i didnt pass a Hesi! Its the only school in idaho that holds your diploma hostage like this! I need help!

  • Rob N. May 7, 2012, 5:26 pm

Currently I’m about $20k in debt. I attended ITT Tech in 2003-2006 and would like to sue them for selling me something that doesn’t exist or benefited from. I’ve got a Associates Degree in Computer Networking Systems and cannot do nothing with it. It’s now 2012 and 6 years has passed, no entry level job or IT related field which I had studied. Currently I’m working mininum wage at a gas station as a cashier. Now my wages are being garnished and it’s just a uphill battle just trying to survive. This is a undo hardship for me.

  • Jay Swanstrom July 10, 2012, 12:17 pm

When I enrolled I was told I would receive credit for my classes already taken as they would transfer and that I could expect to pay no more than 12k for my BA in Business. Actual costs closer to 60k. It’s not so much the money it is the fact that the degree is worthless. Countless HR people have told me I have wasted my money. My suspicions began the last year of classes when I accidentally sent in a paper I had submitted for an earlier class and I got an A on it. My whole senior year I sent previously submitted papers and finished with a 3.6 GPA! Also most online classes if you wait till the last two weeks to submit all your work and complete the discussion requirements you will still get a good grade.
Bottom line is this school is a sham and it should be shut down.

  • Eddie Lee Thompson July 24, 2012, 5:49 pm

On July 16 and 23, 2012, while touring ITT Tech. in Flint Michigan, I had to take a 12-minute, 50 question test as a part of my interest for enrollment. At which time I had to provide my social security number, and other information. I was not fully aware of the policy(ies) for enrollment but I question: “why a 50-question test in a short (12-minute time), when the amount of right and wrong answers are irrelevant”? Unfortunately, but often suspiciously, missing the test by 2 and then by 1 is highly questionable.

Sallie Mae class action for Arthur, et al.v.sallie Mae, Inc . All your info must be submitted by August 31,2012. To be part of it we must act now. Its only a start but we can finish. Good luck everyone.

  • Christia August 6, 2012, 8:00 pm

I would be very interested in getting into a class action lawsuit against ITT.

I’ve had the same problems as everyone else. I felt like I was in a kindergarten class the entire time I attended. I just received a call from PEAKS Student Loans, but I already had my loans deferred with Sallie Mae. I don’t remember having anything to do with PEAKS.

  • Damenia Smith August 8, 2012, 5:30 pm

I am a gradute of Itt Tech, Norfolk, VA in 2009 and let me tell you, It’s a joke (but im NOT laughing) to say i graduated from this school. It was full of teachers or as they call them instructors, that didnt know tick from tack. Every 2-3 months new instructors are there and other instructors quick or just there for a paycheck. The attendence thing is horrible and they didnt return my monies back to Sallie Mae but they dont “cut checks” neither? Humm. After asking everyone in the fianical aid office because although its your job as a fin aid rep, everyone looking at me, deel in headlights, like they dont know what the hell Im talking about. So i said alright. I asked for the Head Financial Aid lady at that time (i wont disclose her name but i do know it :), they reps told me to sit in the wiating area and she will be with me shortly. Here she comes about 30 mintues later and invited me into her office. Very fansty office I might add, unpon entrance you could smell the aroma of japanese cherry blossom, pictures of her kids and family everywhere amongst the room, glass paper weights in shape of a huge diamond ring and some more shit. You get my point. So she asked me what can i do for you today hun, I asked about my fin aid and any remaing funds. She giggled and replied, “Oh we dont cut checks here, we, meaning Itt Tech, return any/all finacial aid to the lenders”. How funny that sounded i said Okay and returned to class. I called Sallie Mae and my lenders and they stated that certain school chose to send the monies back are totally up to that school. She never said that Itt sent the money back to them and I told them what the “Lady” said. So I start to ask a few classmate, now longtime friend and she said No i havent recieved anything from Itt Tech, Actually I pay them $$ almost 200 a quarter/semester to attend here. I asked her why and she said something about her income is too much. My eyes got so big you could of thought I was Rodney Dangerfield. She too, to this day is struggling to pay off school debt. Moral of the story is, I was struggling before and Im barely surviving now. Since I graduated from there in 2009 Ive tried to get in to Florida Central University in Orlando and was unable to because NONE of the credits transferred into the school and not to mention I’ve reached my “aggregated limit” (in finanical aid money) to get a bachelors degree. FML. Now I have Sallie Mae and this so called Private loans with Itt Tech people on my back and I cant afford to pay back. Due to the fact, I cant get a career let alone job in my field (Associates of Applied Science in Criminal Justice). So I need a class action lawsuite against Itt Tech for false advertising and mishandling of federal funding.

P.S D id I mention the “Lady” quit her job and returned to another state to be closer with family. Sure your right. Everyone was questions their funds and the school.

Useless piece of paper for crammed together work, not enough hands on time, and not in depth on the necessary skills to get an electronics job. Most of the graduates are in debt behind mislead info and promises that you get what you want and need out of this school. Why does this country make everyone that is not socially high class dig their way out of a hole to be successful. People are in debt from trying to get an education to advance our country’s growth. I just don’t understand it. No wonder we are not considered to be the best country or most advanced anymore. We don’t have people from every social class inputting their knowledge, experience, and ideas of how to do things. This is why things have been the same in America because of the same ideas and OLD fashioned techniques. This country is one-sided and unequal.

  • Tim September 10, 2012, 1:02 am

Hello I was a nursing student at itt until here recently. I just finished my first year at itt and my grades were I believe a total of 8″A’s”, 2″B+”, and 2″C+” I have already retaking one of the C+ and turned it in to an “A”. I was just released from the school along with one other student for receiving a 2nd c+ I lost my appeal and so did she. We are the only people to have been turned down for are first appeal so far in the school. We were told it was because our grades were not high enough where in fact he had the highest GPA’s of all the appeals. Also I have a email from one of my teachers stating that he had to drop the lowest exam from each student to make sure the majority of the class would pass and go on to the next level. There is also a lot more but I am typing this up Dr my phone so I wont go on. But i am looking for a class action attorney and would love some help in finding one please let me know. Thank you

    • Tim September 10, 2012, 1:04 am

Oh also in this past year they have gotten me for about $26,000.00 in this short time.

I just graduated from Itt tech in December of 2011, but that summer my class was told that they don’t have any interships for us, and when I started I was told they would get us one for the experience we need to get a job or any hope of one in Paralegal services. They told me that I would only have one loan but and it’s resonable But it ends up being those payments are at least 300.00 a month, and the loans end up being almost 40,000. I only work 18 hrs a week at a job that doesn’t have anything to do with my degree. what the hell can I pay on that barely my bills. I need help also on finding an attorney for this one. If anyone has information let me know please..

  • Alex Vue September 18, 2012, 10:04 pm

Please start a class action suit, please give us justice like the court has done for Cornith’s College making them pay their students’ private student loans for fraud and misrepresentation.

I am a victim of this school. My degree is a joke to the industry.

  • aaron cooper September 30, 2012, 10:11 pm

i have the same problem, i filed a state complaint and nothing happened other than i was threatened by the itt staff, i even called the police and they said it was not their problem. i do not feel i should pay for watching the world series instead of working on labs. the instructor claimed the labs never have worked and the dean and staff knew this.
    what can i do?

  • Christine A November 6, 2012, 12:23 pm

Where do I start? I feel completely mislead by this school, I would like to talk to someone about a law suit.

  • Monica December 29, 2012, 9:01 pm

I just discovered the college charged my husband double in tuition fees through student loans by viewing his credit report. This is awful, we are $35,000 in debt for 1 year of classes at their poor educational facility. My husband did not return to classes after his 1st year because they were a joke. Now to find out they screwed us over financially too…. How do we find info on this lawsuit or participate?

  • Jane January 4, 2013, 9:46 am

My husband attended ITT for 15 months before deciding to leave and we now have 30,000 in debt. One of the loans is through PEAKS and has a very high interest rate. When we tried to defer it, since he is still in school, we were told it was tied to ITT tech only. If he was in school at ITT it would be deferred if not we needed to begin paying the loan.
He has learned more in one semester than he did in fifteen months at ITT. The text books were worthless. It was about attending class and making an attempt to do the work. What a waste of time and huge waste of money that we should be using/saving to pay for the education he is now receiving or our sons future education.

  • Anthony Allen January 18, 2013, 11:04 am

I have recordings of the education that was set up and everything was lie from day one. They give you answers to finals and claim to teach. I was promised a job and never even got an interview from job placement. My recordings have proof that they are not there to teach anyone but only teach everyone how to cheat. I will gladly hand over my recordings to anyone who will Sue for all they deserve.

  • Craig January 24, 2013, 7:54 pm

Itt-Technical Institute was by far the worst educational experience I have ever had, the (sales man) treats you as if you have walked in to the car lot promising you everything in the world, but providing very little. I started off with a loan for 2 years worth of school at an astonishing $40,000 + but I figured the more you spend on your education the better the education right??…Wrong! Not only was the education very lacking you paid a very large lump some for it as well. I believe that it really doesn’t matter how you preformed in class as long as they were receiving money you were going to pass. I am now almost $70,000 dollars in debt with Itt-tech and harassed constantly by them and Sallie Mae, this is quiet the debt for someone who makes $40,000 a year. As with everyone else on here I was promised a job and ended up getting job offers from Itt-Technical institutes career services that I was not qualified for nor where they even in the same field.

I Think Itt tech is a scam as well and my heart goes out to each and everyone of you who have been taken by these crooks. I signed up to itt-tech to take a paralegal course and I signed up for part-time classes. I was told by the staff at the time for me to fill out financial aid it would be for part time, but was enrolled as a full time student. I was also, forced to take an online class which has caused me not to graduate on time with the rest of my class. the online class was not good for me which i told the staff and they said that I wouldn’t have any other alternative but to take an online class, I have been on the Honor roll every since i started at itt and now my grades will fall and I will have to stay in school longer and go into debt further. i would like to join any class action against this school and I will file the complaint and help with the research contact me by email moorishking09@gmail.com or cell 408-903-5364

I was scammed too, and I’m literally sick to my stomache knowing that I’m in over my head in debt. I attended the Torrance, CA location and received a Bachelor’s degree on( April 1, 2010) in Criminal Justice. That date speaks for itself. I was a single mother working full time and I wanted a better life for my children and a class schedule that suited my life, and like a fool I went to the school and they saw me coming.
Something has to be done, Thousands of dollars for a bunk education. This school needs to be shut down.
If you guys have any information on the suit PLEASE forward to me. In the meantime I will be writing letters to my Congressman, Mayor, Law Offices and President Obama. I will post responses as they come in.

I attended ITT -Tech in Houston and I worked on my Associates Degree plan in a new program for CNS Network Administrator. I got all the way towards 6 months left to graduate and they told me I could not attend due to tax bracket and financial aid issues. Well needless to they sent me a letter saying I owe like Seven Thousand Dollars being soon sent to collections. It is so ironic how they call you to get started to school but they could careless if you graduate, where are the phone calls then? As a film maker I am thinking about exposing them in a Film if they do not change their polices. I am also a member of the Associate Press and the NAACP. Contact me for class action lawsuit. Lets do it.

The biggest problem I am having with ITT-Tech is my student loans, the amount that I owe does not agree with what was written in the contract, and now I have two different loan companies that claim that I owe them money. But that’s impossible when I only pulled out a loan with one company. I would like to be apart of this class action lawsuit.

I would like to know how can I become a member of the class action lawsuit against ITT Tech. I am currently attending ITT for a paralegal course that I have been on the honor role for the whole time in attendence and they gave me online classes which has made my GPA drop. I never entered a contract to take online classes. I can be contacted by cell at 408-903-5364 or emailed at above address. Thank You for your time and patience.

I would like to also be involved with the class action lawsuit against ITT-TECH San Bernardino. I was completely lied to by the recruiter. He told me I would be getting my loan from Sallie Mae only now I owe both the school and Sallie Mae for 13000 dollars and I only went to the school for two quarters. I have a University degree from a real accredited school and it only cost me 20000 dollars. My credit is now bad, because they gave the information to the Credit Bureaus. Who have no clue as to what is really going on.

Itt lied about the ability to consolidate the 4 loan payments required to finance the education. Salie Mae does not consolidate their own loans and most companies won’t do both federal and private loans in the same bundle so your still stuck with two payments monthly loan payments which is impossible to make when your struggling to find a job with a bad education and still paying survival bills (rent, food) and consolidation also costs more money, which wasn’t made apparent at the time. Now stuck with 4 monthly payments…someone please find a damn lawyer and post the contact info or post why so many people with so many problems are just complaining here and not finding a resource for action. Is their nothing we can do or no where for us to go?

I attended and graduated from ITT-Carson in 1998.I filled out my paperwork for grants and other financial aid.I was told my paperwork was late and did not receive any financial aid.
I got stuck with the full amount of student loan and have managed to pay my loan but it is getting tougher to make payments.ALL I ASK FOR,IS FOR ITT TO PAY THE BALANCE OF MY DEBT,(I mean student loan).
When I attended ITT,the instructors were getting schooled by the students.Alot of the instructors teachings were corrected by students, wether it was in theory or lab.And on the day of exams,we ,the students were given answers to the exams in order to pass.
And it is true, alot of companies I’ve applied to tend to look at ITT degree as a JOKE.
Please contact me if and when this lawsuit is going to go into effect!

P.S. what I learned at ITT was mostly my hard work and dedication to electronics.
The books helped but I could have checked then out at library.Email @ l.ramirez323@att.net or call me @ 323 401-9828,if further action is taken.

I attended ITT and received a meaningless education during my time there due to an ill equipped business.
