Consumers File Class Action Lawsuit Complaint Against Highbeam Research, The Gale Group & Cengage Learning Over Membership Subscriptions.

A class action lawsuit has been filed against Highbeam Research, Inc., The Gale Group, Inc. and Cengage Learning, Inc. (collectively “Defendants) in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts (captioned Robert Bagg, David Crotty and Kathleen Geisse v. Highbeam Research, Inc., The Gale Group, Inc. and Cengage Learning, Inc.) alleging, among other things, that Defendants designed and used deceptive and misleading Negative Option Marketing such as alleged Free-To-Pay conversions on the Internet to cause consumers to unknowingly and automatically enroll in allegedly unauthorized yearly or monthly memberships or subscriptions for which they were charged on their credit cards, according to the Highbeam Research, The Gale Group & Cengage Learning membership subscription class action lawsuit complaint.

    I have done textbook reviews for Cengage and other history textbook publishers and I have not always received the minimal pay they promise so I was wondering if that was why I was receiving notices on the class action lawsuit against Cengage.
