Ford, Lincoln & Mercury Purchasers & Lessors File Class Action Lawsuit Against Ford Motor Over SYNC® GPS Navigation System TDI Package.

A class action lawsuit has been filed against Ford Motor Company (“Ford Motor” or “Ford” or “Defendant”) in the Circuit Court of Cook County Illinois (styled Steven Rouse v. Ford Motor Company, Class Action Case No. 11 CH 20581), alleging, among other things, that Ford sells Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles with a factory installed GPS navigation system called SYNC® that allegedly does not contain, on the Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles, an alleged advertised feature, the Traffic, Directions and Information (“TDI”) feature that provides audible voice-activated turn-by-turn directions for the driver, audible text messaging capability, text messaging to mobile phones capability, daily information and the capability to send real-time traffic information to the vehicle sound system, according to the Ford, Lincoln & Mercury SYNC® GPS Navigation System TDI Package class action lawsuit complaint.

The Ford, Lincoln & Mercury SYNC® GPS Navigation System TDI Package class action lawsuit complaint is reportedly brought on behalf of a putative class consisting of the following persons:

All persons: (a) who purchased or leased a vehicle in the State of Illinois; (b) which vehicle was manufactured by Defendant; (c) which vehicle was equipped with a SYNC@ navigation system; and (d) whose vehicle’s SYNC@ system did not include, and could not be updated to accommodate, the TDI package.

The Ford, Lincoln & Mercury SYNC® GPS Navigation System TDI Package class action lawsuit complaint reportedly asserts claims for alleged violations of the Illinois consumer fraud act, breach of warranty, common law fraud, and unjust enrichment.
