A class action lawsuit has been filed against Ford Motor Company (“Ford Motor” or “Ford” or “Defendant”) in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, Sacramento Division (styled Margie Daniel, Robert Mccabe, Mary Hauser, Donna Glass, And Andrea Duarte v. Ford Motor Company Class Action Case No. 2:11-cv-02890-WBS -EFB), alleging, among other things, that Ford designed, manufactured, distributed, marketed, sold, and leased model year 2005 through 2011 Ford Focus vehicles that contain one or more design and/or manufacturing defects that allegedly affect the vehicle’s alignment or geometry and cause the Ford Focus vehicles to become misaligned and the tires to wear out unevenly and prematurely and/or allegedly cause the occupants to experience an extremely rough ride, as well as loud noise, while driving the vehicles and could cause the vehicles to drift while driving on wet or snow-covered roads, according to the Ford Focus Wheel Alignment & Tire Wear & Tear class action lawsuit complaint.

The Ford Focus Wheel Alignment & Tire Wear & Tear class action complaint reportedly asserts claims for alleged violation of Consumers Legal Remedies Act, California Civil Code §§ 1750, violation of California Business & Professions Code §§ 17200, Breach of Implied Warranty in violation of Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, Breach of Warranty under Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, 15 U.S.C. §§ 2301 and Breach of Express Warranty under California Commercial Code § 2313.

I had my husband take my car in to the dealer ship- Olathe Ford to have the alignment checked because the tires were making allot of noise. We were told at that time we should have rotated the tired every time we changed the oil, but we were not told that time at time we bought the car.
I need a lawyer here in Tennessee.My key is stuck in the ignition.Went online to see if there were any recalls from Ford.Found lots of complaints as far back as 2000.People with the same problem and some people could not turn there key.

This to happened to me with my 2000 ford focus,Im trying to remember I believe it was because of a button on the shifter console,I had to take it apart and disengage the button and was then able to get my key out.After that I did not have that piticular problem.

We have a 2008 Ford Focus and were told last week we needed new tires. This will be our second set purchased after the factory tires. The last tires we bought were 60,000 mile tires and we are only at 19,000 and need to replace them. My husband and I are struggling to make ends meet enough without having to buy new tires every 1.5 years. We knew something was wrong when we replaced the tires last time and the alignment was “perfect”. The only excuse we were told for the tire wear was that the factory tires they had on the car were cheap. We will be visiting the dealership on Monday with this information ‘in hand’ and hopefully we will get some type of resolution.
I have a 2011 ford focus and my tires went out at about 8,000 miles found out that this car is defective and ford knew about it maybe we should have a ford focus day and drive this junk back to the dealers nationwide .
We visited the dealership the Monday after I made this post and were told the alignment is still ‘perfect’ so the tires must be causing the issue. We will be putting Cooper tires on for this next set and also taking it to a specialty alignment/suspension shop so we will see of they get to the bottom of the issue. There has to be away to fix the problem. I am tired of waiting for Ford to take action. This lawsuit may take years, who knows.
Good Luck with that. my 2008 focus has 55,000 miles and i am on my third set of tires. the dealership said, oh yes the ford focus is hard on tires but we don’t know why. come on how lame is that.
I bought a 2010 Ford Focus SE and had tires rotated every 5000 miles. At about 20,000 miles I started complaining of tire noise and dealer “moved” tires around to try to get best ride and noise reduction. Issue continued and eventually could not rotate tires as putting rear tires on the front resulted in shaking of front end and excessive noise. Have 38,000 miles on the car and the front tires are shot. After vehicle was out of warranty, dealer suddenly wants me to replace my tires because of excessive wear. Have been told by tire shops that uneven wear is common and most costumers can not rotate tires due to damage caused by inherent suspension problems.

I have a 2002 Ford Focus, and the tires have always worn out quickly. I have spent more on tires on this than I ever have with any other previous vehicles that I have ever owned.
I was hoping to help all of you out as I too had the same issue however I think I may have solved it for some of you. I had 2 major suspension problems on my 2008 Focus before 50,000 mi were on it. The first was a rubbing issue caused by the splash gaurd. Luckily, my local dealer actually found the problem due to a very specific description from me and they modified it early on preventing a lot of pain. This was causing noise when the suspension was compressed with the wheel turned and could have increased tire wear if it hadn’t been caught before 1000 mi. The second and more important is the terrible sway bar links in the front end. They are undersized and wear out prematurely. I had tire wear and alignment problems until I replaced them with oversized chromoly parts around 45,000 mi. Since then, the ride hasn’t been better and I have had the same set of tires with minimal wear for 25,000 mi. I am thinking the loose ball joints in the links must have been causing the alignment to vary while driving on anything but the flattest of pavement. This would have made it impossible to get a good alignment in the first place. I got lucky and decided to upgrade the right part. I know this shouldn’t be the owners responsibility but at least you might be able to make the best out of a bad situation with this info.
I had factory tire issues at 20,000 miles. The tires were cupped as though someone had squeezed them out of round! I was told the car is light in the rear that at high speeds the tires hop off the pavement. This causes the tires to flex and after repeated pounding they break down like a tin can would if you kept squeezing it. Rotating tires helps as does putting some weight in the trunk. Pay extra for fuel in less mileage because of extra weight or pay more for tires and have a bad ride was what I was told. Cheap car great for commuting in city only….
We bought a 2009 Focus new off the dealer lot in Maine. I’m on my third set of tires at about 31K miles. We have done all the needed maintenance and have documentation. (rotated tires, had alignments, etc. )
Had a go around with Ford customer support. In the end they said there was nothing they could do because all the alignments were within specs.
Something is obviously wrong here. Never had a car go through tires like this. I think Ford knows there is a problem but don’t want to publicly admit it. Have been a Ford customer for over 20 years but no more.
How about a nationwide class action lawsuit?
