Securities class action settlements totaled $3.83 billion dollars in 2009, compared to $2.75 billion in 2008 according to a class action study by the Stanford Law School and Cornerstone Research, Reuters reports. There were reportedly 103 securities class action settlements in 2009, compared to 97 class action settlements the previous year.
