Screen Actors Guild SAG Class Action Settlement Of Foreign Royalties or Foreign Levies Class Action Lawsuit.
A class action settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit pending against Screen Actors Guild, Inc. (“Screen Actors Guild” or “SAG” or “Defendant”) in the Superior Court of the State of California County of Los Angeles (styled Ken Osmond v. Screen Actors Guild, Inc., Civil Action Case No. BC339972), challenging Screen Actors Guild collection and distribution of foreign royalties (or foreign levies) on blank DVDs and tapes to performers, according to the Screen Actors Guild SAG foreign royalties class action litigation settlement press release.
Under the Screen Actors Guild SAG foreign royalties class action settlement, Screen Actors Guild reportedly has agreed to conduct an independent public audit of its foreign royalties program, will include on its website www.sag.org content regarding foreign royalties including names of performers eligible for payment of foreign royalties but who have not been paid, and will allow performers to request payments from Screen Actors Guild SAG online or through a SAG foreign royalties representative.
The Screen Actors Guild SAG class action lawsuit settlement reportedly includes as settlement class members all persons, unless otherwise excluded, who performed in a motion picture, television program, or certain other audi-visual work that has earned foreign royalties.
