Seattle Mortgage Class Action Lawsuit Complaint Over Reverse Mortgage Loan Origination Fees

Senior Citizens File Class Action Lawsuit Complaint Against Seattle Mortgage Over Mortgage Loan Origination Fees Allegedly Paid To Mortgage Brokers On Reverse Mortgages.

A class action lawsuit has been filed against Seattle Mortgage Co. (“Seattle Mortgage” or “Defendant”), a unit of Seattle Bank, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California (styled Mary Labrador v. Seattle Mortgage Co.), alleging, among other things, that Seattle Mortgage illegally paid fees to its mortgage brokers and overcharged borrowers on the cost of loan origination, including for reverse mortgage loans or home equity conversion mortgages sold to senior citizens, purportedly in violation of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations, according to a class action lawsuit news report.

I want to know if my Uncle, Clarence Gilman, was taken advantage of by this company. He is in a home and has dementia. His neighbor is his loan officer, his executor, and has power of attorney. I’d rather not put his address, and hope you can find out by his name. I know he has a reverse mortgage and lived in West Seattle. He has a large bank account due to his reverse mortgage, and his neighbor says she must spend it down. I am in CA, but am trying to get up there.

My Mom is in the same situation. Everything was fine with Seattle Mortgage handling the Reverse Mtg. Then, we received the letter from B of A, that they bought them out, I was so mad. I knew that we were going to have nothing but one charge, after another, when they got their hands, on those reverse mortgages.
How do I find out about the class that is filed, and who is handling it for these seniors. I take care of my 89 yr old mom and am not going quietly.
