A proposed $62.5 million class action settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit against European bank HSBC Holdings Plc (“HSBC Holdings” or “HSBC” or “Defendant”) brought on behalf of certain investors in the Thema International Fund Plc, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, alleging among other things that HSBC knew or should have know about Bernie Madoff’s fraud, and that it allegedly breached its duties to the funds and investors, according to HSBC & Thema International Fund class action lawsuit news reports.
