Galeos Salad Dressings Class Action Lawsuit Settlement

If you purchased Galeos Salad Dressings during the period November 29, 2006 to May 3, 2011 you may be entitled to receive a refund for your purchase(s) of Galeos products as a result of a proposed class action settlement.

A class action settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit against Galeos, LLC (“Galeos” or “Defendant”) pending in the United States District Court for the Central District of California (styled Paige Cooperman v. Galeos, LLC, Class Action Case No. SAC 10-01815 JVS FFMx), alleging, among other things, that some of the nutritional information on Galeos Salad Dressings labels was deceptive or inaccurate, and that the Galeos dressings actually had a higher fat, calorie, carbohydrate, and sodium content than was stated on the Galeos salad dressing labels, according to the Galeos Salad Dressings class action lawsuit settlement notice.

The Galeos Salad Dressings class action lawsuit settlement class reportedly includes the following persons, unless otherwise excluded:

All persons who purchased Galeos Salad Dressings, for personal use and not for resale, during the period November 29, 2006 to May 3, 2011

The Galeos Salad Dressings class action lawsuit settlement reportedly provides the following settlement benefits:

1. Galeos will offer a full refund to Class Members who (i) provide proof(s) of purchase and (ii) affirm, under oath and penalty of perjury, that they personally purchased Galeos Products during the Class Period, that they have not already received a refund or replacement of the purchased products, and that they will not seek any further refund or replacement of the purchased products in the future.

 2. Where Class Members lack proof(s) of purchase, Galeos will offer the lowest retail price in the market at the time of preliminary approval for up to three (3) bottles of Galeos Salad Dressings so long as the Class Member affirms under oath and penalty of perjury to have personally purchased the products.

 3. Galeos will ensure continued accuracy and consistency of its various product labels by engaging a qualified food-testing laboratory, for a period of five (5) years, to test each of its products biannually as to calories, fat, carbohydrates, protein, and sodium.

Settlement class members who wish to receive a refund of Galeos products they purchased,  reportedly must visit http://galeoscafe.com/form/form.html and submit a complete and accurate refund request by December 31, 2011.

The Court will hold a Final Approval Hearing on November 18, 2011, at 1:30 p.m., to consider whether to give final approval to the settlement.

Whole Foods should have some responsibility here as well. They sold me the 15 or more bottles of Galeos that I gave to my baby with veggies thinking it was HEALTHY!

I just found out about this as I wondered why New Seasons Market in Lake Oswego, OR discontinued this product. I have used it daily since 2008. I was amazed that it was so low in fat, calories etc. in fact I am eating it right now. I wanted to see where I could purchase it. Do I have any recourse?

It is now November 2012. Galeo’s Miso Caesar has now gone up to $5 per bottle so I looked online for a home made substitute and found out about the class action suit and the inaccurate label. The label has not been corrected and, after more than 6 years of using this product, I will never buy it again.

    hi all
this dressing is amazing and there was no any proof that Galeos was wrong.it is all about hungry lawyers to make a easy money.the label is correct as I recommend to all my clients for the past 7 years. So dear Ellen F you will just stop using something really good, and believe me I still did not find anything close to Galeos all this years.Every dollar I spend for Galeos dressing is well spend.
