Lexus RX Owners and Lessees File Class Action Lawsuit Complaint Against Toyota Motor Sales USA, Inc. Over Alleged Defect That Can Cause Condensation or Moisture in Lexus RX Headlight or Headlamp Assemblies.

A class action lawsuit complaint has been filed against Toyota Motor Sales USA, Inc. (“Toyota Motor” or “Toyota” or “Defendant”) in the United States District Court for the Central District of California (styled Larry Charles Jackson v. Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., Class Action Case No. CV 10-9183 PA Ex), alleging, among other things, that Toyota Motors manufactured, distributed and sold 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 Lexus RX vehicles that contained a defect in the headlight or headlamp assembly that causes them to be prone to condensation and/or moisture due to alleged defects in the headlamp housing that fails to prevent water from entering and damaging interior components of the headlight assemblies, according to the Toyota Lexus RX headlamp water condensation class action lawsuit complaint.

The Toyota Lexus RX headlight assembly water condensation class action lawsuit complaint reportedly is brought on behalf of the following putative class of persons, unless otherwise excluded:

All members of the Class who are “consumers” within the meaning of California Civil Code section 1761(d) (the “CLRA Sub-Class”)

I am 62-years young and retired as a VP from a big-box automotive group after 28-years in the business, I would have surely failed if I allowed my customer’s to have been treated as I was in the following experience; I purchased for my wife a 2008 RX350 in 2008 and noticed after driving in the rain the drivers side headlamp had condensation inside. Checked the owners manual and it said may not b…

We have a 2006 Lexus RX 330 . It has 89,343 miles on it. I noticed condensation in the passenger side headlight sometime ago. When I took it in for an oil change at the Lexus dealership in Merrillville, In., I was assured that it would vent itself and dry out. Now both the headlights are full of condensation, and main headlight bulb is out, making the vehicle unsafe to operate. We have been told that the entire headlight assembly for both must be replaced. At the cost of $1,684 plus labor. We have done extensive research regarding this issue, and we see that many other Lexus owners are going through the same problems as we have encountered. This is a defective design issue, which Toyota/Lexus should be responsible for. Our confidence in Toyota’s/ Lexus reputation, products, and consumer satisfaction is now replaced by disappointment and dissatisfaction in their company and products.

We also are retired and to have to face $2,000 or more to repair this as it is getting close to being unsafe to drive is a sin.
Our 2006 RX350 has 80000 miles ,so you can see we don’t drive it hard and it has always been a garage auto. This has been our third Lexus RX and we have always been happy with the car and Lexus. But they have had this problem and have been hiding it for a long time from their customers.
What is Lexus thinking, its a money issue and I hope that the class action suit will force them to do the correct thing.

I just purchased a 2009 rx 350 and there is condensation in passenger side window. The vehicle was repaired and still condensation. Is it too late to be apart of this lawsuit?

I have a 2010 RX 350 purchased in 8/09 and have noticed moisture on the inside of my headlites near the top about 1″ circle. I keep my car garaged and just turned 20K on it. I am worried 2010 may not be covered, even tho it is an issue as well on 2010’s.

We own a 2009 rx 350, our 2nd lexus. We have the moisture problem as well. $1500 for headlights. They claim it’s a trim issue!! Good luck if you have an issue. Have been beating my head against the wall for almost a month!! No dealership wants to admit it’s their problem. If this is taken care of to our satisfaction, we won’t be buying another Lexus. We feel bad we have referred 7 people to buying Lexus!!

I meant if this isn’t taken care of to our satisfaction, we will not buy another Lexus!

I was the proud owner of a Lexus 350 rx 2013, Not any more and here is why: with 3500 miles on it and 5 months old, I had an accident mainly because the BRAKES DID NOT WORK and the car ACCELERATED BY ITSEL. I wasn’t on a high way or a regular street,I WAS IN A PARKING LOT. I was taken to the ER for the injuries I sustained. The cars was totaled and guess what the AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, the emergency system did not work either. Lexus did not help me with the Hospital bill. The car at the dealership was never inspected to find out why the brakes did not work or didn’t function properly even though they said they would. After they promise to you the stars and the moon and you sing the papers its not their problem any more. Well thats B.S. What are they waiting for? People to loose their lives in those unsafe cars? I DO NOT RECOMMEND NOR WILL EVER BUY ANOTHER LEXUS.
