Harrah’s Entertainment Atlantic City Casino Resort Class Action Lawsuit Over $15 “Birthday Cash” Total Rewards Advertisements

Casino Gamblers Win $8 Million Against Harrah’s Entertainment in Class Action Lawsuit Over Harrah’s Atlantic City Casino “Birthday Cash” Total Rewards Advertisement Promotion.

A New Jersey judge has ruled against Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. (“Harrah’s Entertainment” or “Harrah’s” or “Harrah’s Atlantic City Casino” or “Harrah’s Resort Casino in Atlantic City”) to the tune of about $8,000,000 (approximately 80,000 class members will get $100 each in statutory damages) in a class action lawsuit pending in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Middlesex County (styled Debra Smerling and Sheila Smerling v. Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc., Civil Action Case No. L-8733-04) alleging, among other things, that Harrah’s casino violated New Jersey’s truth-in-advertising laws when Harrah’s reportedly sent 80,000 people misleading advertisements that promised $15 in “birthday cash” as part of the casino’s “Total Rewards” customer-loyalty promotion but allegedly refused to redeem the birthday cash vouchers until after 8 a.m. on August 10, according to a class action lawsuit news report.

The Harrah’s Casino class action lawsuit reportedly includes the following persons as class and sub-class members:

All persons to whom Harrah’s mailed at any time on or after December 2, 1998 a “Birthday Cash” coupon redeemable in New Jersey that was substantially the same as or similar to the “Birthday Cash” coupon that Harrah’s mailed to Plaintiff Debra Smerling in 2003 (the “Class”).

All persons who received a “Birthday Cash” coupon from Harrah’s at any time on or after December 2, 1998 redeemable in New Jersey that was similar to the coupon Smerling received and who redeemed the coupon according to Harrah’s records (the “Subclass” or money damages class)

You don’t need an attorney… what you really need is a therapist. You have a gambling problem. You always had the option to cut your losses and walk away earlier than you did. But you didn’t. Too bad!
