Hewlett-Packard HP Customer Files Class Action Lawsuit Against Hewlett-Packard Over Alleged Representations That HP Notebooks’ Intel WiFi Link 1000 Wireless Cards Were Capable Of Operating In Both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Frequency Bands.
A class action lawsuit has been filed against Hewlett-Packard Company (“Hewlett-Packard” or “HP” or “Defendant”) in the Superior Court for the State of California for the County of Santa Clara (styled Benton P. Zwart, M.D., M.P.H. v. Hewlett-Packard Company, Case No. 110CV177561) alleging, among other things, that Hewlett-Packard HP offers certain HP notebooks for sale, including the G7I-340US model purchased by Plaintiff, expressly representing the equipped wireless cards as “provid[ing] up to 270 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band” when the wireless cards in those HP notebooks were allegedly only capable of operating in the 2.4 GHz band, according to class action lawsuit news reports.
The Hewlett-Packard HP class action lawsuit reportedly alleges that HP uses a wireless network card known to HP as Part No. 572520-001, also known as the Intel WiFi Link 1000, and that HP offered the WiFi Link 1000 in at least 60 different models of Hewlett-Packard HP notebook computers.
The Hewlett-Packard HP class action lawsuit is reportedly brought on behalf of all persons and entities in the United States who purchased a subject computer (as defined in the complaint) for which HP represented the equipped wireless cards operated on both the 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz frequency bands, but where the wireless cards were not capable of such operation, unless otherwise excluded (the “Class”).

where do i sign up i have 2 hp with bad wireless no support from Hp Also 1 withe bad nivida vidio chip ois there a class action suite on this as well ?
i have hp tx 1000 and wont power up, just like 1000 other people with the same problem, aviosly HP knows about this. I think its only fair if they would recall defective computers and repair them free of charge, especially that tx 1000 was quiet expensive. I purchesed Toshiba laptop more than year ago for $350.00 and havent had any problems,i will never buy another HP product again unless they do something to solve the problem. They knew damn well about this problem why didint they pull it off the shelves.Thats all i know that HP has a bad reputation and i make sure that i spread the word around.
I too have a tx1000 which was supposed to have a working touch screen when I purchased it. I was lied to by HP sales. After the unit arrived I had massive problems with support people who were so dumb they were googling the problems and cutting and pasting them in chat sessions. After several months an HP supervisor told me that if I would keep the tx1000 she would give me a 4 year ADP warranty. The wifi on the tx1000 was also a notorius problem and then that went. I sent it in for repair and they returned it with my hard disk wiped, costing me 2 days of software re-installation and reconfiguration. They left off the wifi card cover plate so afterwards that was just exposed on the bottom. 3 and 1/2 years from purchase date suddenly blacks out, apparently due to a bad power jack. HP then won’t chat with me online saying I have no warranty. After I call, I got put on hold by a woman in India for 1.5 hrs. Then I get an HP survey in an email. At the end of the survey it asks if I would like to speak to someone at HP about the problem. Later an HP “Case Representative” calls and explains that HE is as HIGH as this is going to go. He says I was giving a 3 year ADP warranty not a 4 year… I never received any documents so how could I now dispute this – it was purely my trust of the HP supervisor 3 years before. Then he says they already did $800 worth of repairs. I told him that he didn’t do $800 in repairs because I did anything to the tx1000… they did the $800 worth of repairs because of Design Flaws, faulty components, and crappy manufacturing. The fact is they sold me a piece of junk, then lied to me to keep me from getting a refund, now they won’t honor the warranty as promised. And I found out WHY they cut the ADP Warranty down to 3 years instead of 4. They are refusing to even repair the tx1000 anymore because they know how screwed up it is!!!
YOU CANT EVEN PAY THEM TO FIX IT!!! I had another HP that overlapped this one and had very similar issues with design flaws, overheating, bad support, power jack problems, bad batteries, and then just going black. So, they screwed me for thousands of dollars, plus countless hours of my time, and they want to wash their hands of it all. I will NEVER buy another HP product of any kind. They have lost a customer for LIFE. But I want to see a huge class action suit about this. They tried to shift all of this to NVIDIA, but these problems with the tx1000 go way beyond the bad NVIDIA chip leads that wouldn’t solder properly. There are many other common problems on these laptops, the wifi board failures, the overheating, the power jacks, and even though my motherboard was replaced and supposedly doesn’t have the NVIDIA chipset anymore it still went black. If I paid $300 and it lasted 3 years that would be one thing. But I paid nearly $2000 because I had to put in memory 2 times (they downgraded me from 4gb to 2gb after the repair) and for a while I had to use an external usb wifi because I could immediately send it in for repair. For all of the suffering and hell they have put so many people through with their bad design, bad support, bad repairs, and bad management they should be punished severely and should be ordered to replace all of these tx1000′s with brand new computers equal in value to what we paid orginally. I am tired of this big monopolistic companies crapping all over people and then not being held accountable. I want to take my HP laptops shove it in the face of HP executives raking in millions. I’m tired of HP lies. HP hiring totally uneducated morons in India and pretending like that is the same as the support they once had in the USA. It’s bait and switch. They sold a big fat LIE and need to pay for their evil.
I bought a tx100 also and enjoyed it for three years before it went black and I called HP so many times about this problem and they did absolutely nothing to help but tell me to purchase a new motherboard or send it in for them to replace it. Unfortunately I don’t have that kind of money and it now sits on my counter waiting for the time I can get enough money together to buy a new motherboard. I loved this computer i took it every where and for HP not to back their own product is just wrong.
my HP Laptop (DV9500-dv9608) died the black screen death 3 years to the day from date in service, last November.

Problem is that when ever i m enabling my Wireless Router or Laptop Wifi I feel dizziness, and feeling some tickles on my left side of chest under the ribs side… and sometimes I feeling heaviness in chest i dont know why, but it happened within 30 to 40 seconds…
(even Linksys router or recently i bought HP ProBook 4520s and facing same situation.)
So kindly help me on this situation i m using wired internet but cant use wireless net only because of this issue…

tx-1000
I have same problem as 1000 of you have there.
All indicater lights on but moniter is black/blank.
In the beginning, the monitor’d been blank/black when I power on.
If I off and on again, somewhat worked. It was like that about more than a year.
And, finally, monitor’s been completely black how many times I tried on and off from almost 4 or 5 months.
Where can I join this action?
This is ‘the manufactuter’s fundmantal tech. problem’ that they should re-call.
I have been having issues with this HP computer since the first day I bought it, at first I had only a slow conntection with a dila up, then I tried to get high speed broadband, but connection issues are because the wireless card will not work coorectly, and my actiontec tech told me that the woreless card is not working, also the realtec is not working correctly, I had to install a connexant modem and aol dial up just to get online and try to find some help, HP offers no online help and i dont trust shipping my computer off to them to God only knows where, last time i trusted Hp and Sears, I had to wait alost 3 months to get my copmputer aback and they were supposed to put in a new harddrive and all they did was install a simple restore
