Plaintiffs In Age Discrimination Lawsuit Against 3M Company Seek To Have The 3M Case Certified As A Class Action Lawsuit

Age Discrimination Lawsuit Filed Against 3M Company Seeks Class Action Lawsuit Status On Remand.

A class action lawsuit filed against 3M Company (“3M” or “Defendant”) in Ramsey County District Court in Minnesota (styled Clifford L. Whitaker, Michael V. Mucci, Robert W. Coats, Rosemary J. Sterrett, Mark D. Swanson and Thomas R. Bulen v. 3M Company, Civil Action Case No. 62-C4-04-012239), alleging among other things, that certain 3M employees were discriminated against based on age related to performance appraisals, training, promotion, pay and termination, once again seeks to be certified as a class action lawsuit, according to a class action lawsuit news report.

The 3M age discrimination class action lawsuit was previously certified as a class action by District Judge Gregg Johnson in 2008, but in 2009 the Minnesota Court of Appeals reportedly sent the case back down with instructions to review whether the 3M lawsuit should be certified as a class action lawsuit under the “preponderance of the evidence” standard.

The 3M age discrimination class action lawsuit complaint reportedly alleges that 3M’s quality and training program referred to as Six Sigma tended to promote younger workers over older ones.
