I have applied for bariatric surery the first week in June, and now it is July 26,2011 I have sumited all the requirements to cigna. I have
checked with the insurance company first to see if its covered . I sumitted the Psychological assessment , a Nutritional Assessment, a letter from my Physician stating on their letterhead my past history and recommending me for Bariatric Surgery , copies of my medical records from 3 to 5 years , a six month medically supervised diet and exercise program with monthly weigh-ins within the past two years all the requirements they ask for and my claim is pending . Why is it pending ?
I am going through the same experience. They have lost my documents twice and now it appears that I have to resubmit the psychological evaluation and the nutritionist’s report. My friend who is under the care of a different surgeon also going through the same ordeal. Do patients have any recourse?
