Wal-Mart Stores Settles Class Action Lawsuit Filed Against It For Alleged Wage & Hour Violations In Oregon For $4,000,000

A class action lawsuit filed against Wal-Mart Stores on behalf of former Wal-Mart employees in Oregon for alleged violations of Oregon wage and hour laws has reached a proposed settlement, according to a class action lawsuit news report.

The Wal-Mart class action complaint reportedly alleged that Wal-Mart failed to timely pay  employee wages, overtime pay or earned vacation owed to Wal-Mart employees who had left Walmart.

Under the proposed Wal-Mart class action settlement, Wal-Mart reportedly has agreed to pay as much as $4 million, $2.3 million of which would be distributed among 28,000 settlement class members.  Claimants are reportedly expected to receive payouts ranging from $50 to $241.

Wal-mart settlement class members reportedly will include former employees, either hourly or salaried, who worked at Walmart stores or distribution centers in Oregon, and their employment ended between Dec. 9, 2002, and March 26, 2010.
