A class action settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit pending against Treasure Entertainment, Inc., Bad Boy Records, LLC and others (collectively “Defendants”) in the United States District Court for the Central District of California (styled James Ambers,Theodore Demos, Alan Martin, Gary Mitchell, Michael Dean Turner, and Michael Webb v. Treasure Entertainment Inc. and Bad Boy Records, LLC, et. al., Case No. CV 09-8953 SVW) alleging that putative class and collective action members were not timely paid all wages due, were not paid for all hours worked, including not being paid overtime under California state law and federal Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”), were not provided with required meal and/or rest breaks, and were not provided with accurate pay stubs, according to the Treasure Entertainment & Bad Boy Records Class Action Settlement Notice.
The “Settlement Class,” consists of about sixty (60) persons employed in California in positions designated as non-exempt and paid in whole or in part on an hourly basis and who worked on a music video for musical artist Janelle Monae titled “Many Moons” in or about June 2008 (the “Music Video”).
The District Court is scheduled to hold a final fairness hearing in Courtroom 6 of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, located at 312 N. Spring Street, Los Angeles, California 90012, on August 30, 2010 at 1:30 p.m., to determine, inter alia, whether the Treasure Entertainment & Bad Boy Records Class Action Settlement should be finally approved as fair, reasonable, and adequate.
