Seagate Hard Disc Drive Class Action Settlement Summary Notice

If You Purchased a New Seagate Brand Hard Disc Drive Not For Resale In The United States Between March 22, 2001 and September 26, 2007 Separately as a Seagate product that Was Not Preinstalled and Bundled With A Personal Computer, Then You Could Benefit From A Class Action Settlement.

The Seagate class action settlement resolves claims made in Cho v. Seagate Technology  (US) Holdings, Inc. filed in San Fransisco Superior Court (No. 453195) and other related cases that reportedly alleged that in the sale and marketing of hard disc drives, Seagate stated that purchasers of the drives would receive approximately 7% more usable storage capacity than they actually received.

As part of the Seagate class action settlement, class members who submit a valid claim may receive a free backup and recovery software or a cash payment equivalent to five percent of the net amount paid for the hard drive (excluding taxes or rebates), according to the Seagate class action settlement summary notice.
