If the proposed settlement caps damages at $6000. Pella wins. For those of us who have totally rotten windows and have had to replace all of our Pella windows (for me $22,000) and not done. This is not a win for us.

Does anyone know where we can apply for reimbursement? I am the president of a condo association and have multiple issues with sliding doors and side panel windows that need replacement due to blistering frames, rotting wood and broken seals.
    Thanks,
    Scott

I have had 2 Pella Proline Casement windows rot out at the bottom. Fighting with Lowes to replace them and Pella who denies any wrongdoing after the 10 year warranty. (I was 4 months out of warranty) but was told the windows starting to rot long before that. Now what about my other 17 windows????? I can’t afford to replace them all, but want satisfaction from PELLA and Lowes should realize what type of product they are promoting. H E L P !!!!!!!!!

I purchased Pella casement windows & have had one replaced 3 years ago & now I find another casement window lower sash is rotting because of poor sealing between aluminum frame and wood sash. The thing is Pella knows this is going to happen, the rotting, that’s why they only give a 10 year warrenty & then you have to pay them again to replace……the window that keeps on giving. In my sunroom I have Anderson windows, the casements have never rotted, installled in 1987, the roof windows leaked about 10 years ago & Anderson replaced them free of charge, installation included, no questions asked.

We built our home in August of 1999. We purchased $12,000.00 worth of Pella windows from Lowe’s in Uniontown, Pa. thinking we were buying “top of the line” windows. We recently discovered there were a number of our windows that were rotting at the bottom. Being out of warranty, we figured we were going to have to assume responsibility for replacement. We contacted Lowe’s who filed a complaint with Pella. We were told that a rep would call us within 48 hours. He called today and told us of this class action suit. He is coming to replace the windows at the end of November. He states we are getting the windows at a discount of 35%. We will be paying more than $1300.00 to replace windows that were defective. This is not fair. We already paid $12,000. and now have to assume $1300 more to replace windows that should not have rotted in the first place! We are retired, on a fixed income. This is causing us great distress. How can we be included in this class action suit! We feel that the windows should be replaced at no cost to us!

My house was built in 1995 using Proline metalclad windows and patio door. In 1997 I found water leaking thru the door into my basement room. When I contacted Pella, I was told, “sorry, out of warranty”. I couldn’t believe it and got estimates from two other contractors and finally after talking to at least 8 or 9 people at Pella, Iowa, Topeka, KS and Lawrence, KS got them to replace the door at no cost, but only because I threatened a lawsuit because it was affecting my hardwood floors as well. Then 3 years later a large fixed window with half-circle top had rotted so badly I put my fingers thru from the inside trim and the whol outer wall including insulation and stucco had to be replaced. Pella sent a man to “investigate”, but then I never heard from him again and assumesd it also was out of warranty–Cost me $3500 for that one, then two windows , one casement and one fixed, again rotted thru to the inside and now I have 6 more windows that need to be replaced. Pella send a man to “inventory the whole house” and am waiting to get the cost estimate. This whole house survey was done, according to Pella without cost to me as a “goodwill gesture”. Pella has told me that I don’t deserve anything more because they replaced the patio door earlier. I am telling anyone who will listen DO NOT USE PELLA WINDOWS!!!
