Monsanto Class Action Settlement Of Nitro West Virgina Agent Orange Class Action Lawsuit.
A settlement has reportedly been reached in a class action lawsuit against Monsanto (“Monsanto” or “Defendant”) filed in the Putnum County Circuit Court in West Virginia on behalf of people who lived, worked and went to school in the small town of Nitro, West Virginia, where Monsanto allegedly produced the herbicide 2,4,5-T which was used in Agent Orange that was allegedly sprayed over Southeast Asia by the military during the Vietnam War, according to Monsanto class action lawsuit settlement news reports.
Under the Monsanto Agent Orange class action settlement, a medical monitoring fund of $21 million will be set up to pay for testing of class members and a medical monitoring fund of up to an additional $63 million will be made available for 30 years for such tests. Under the Monsanto settlement, up to $9 million will reportedly be set up to professionally clean up to some 4,500 homes in Nitro, West Virginia.
