Mohawk Industries Class Action Settlement In Lawsuit Over Alleged Undocumented Workers Receives Preliminary Approval
A class action settlement in a lawsuit against Mohawk Industries by Mohawk employees (Williams v. Mohawk Industries, No. 4:04-cv-00003) who claimed the carpet maker had depressed wages by hiring undocumented workers, has been preliminarily approved by Judge Harold W. Murphy of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia in Rome, according to a class action settlement news report.
The Mohawk Industries class action settlement will reportedly settle for $18 million dollars, with Mohawk paying $5 million and its insurer, Zurich American Insurance Co., paying $13 million.
