Who Is Included In The JELD-WEN Masonite Standalone Interior Molded Door Class Action Settlement?
The JELD-WEN Masonite Interior Molded Door class action settlement reportedly includes, unless otherwise excluded, the following settlement class:
All persons and entities that, during the Settlement Class Period [between March 1, 2014 and September 4, 2020] indirectly purchased one or more Standalone Interior Molded Doors in the Indirect Purchaser States, that were manufactured or sold by either Defendant, not for resale.
An Interior Molded Door is a type of interior door made through a process of sandwiching a wood frame and hollow or solid core between two molded doorskins, as opposed to creating the entire door from solid wood. Interior Molded Doors include, for instance, slabs, which can be sold as single slabs or bifolds, as well as pre-hung Interior Molded Doors, which consist of an Interior Molded Door slab affixed to a door frame.
A “Standalone” Interior Molded Door is an Interior Molded Door that is not incorporated as part of a larger product (like the purchase of a home) or service (like the installation of a door in a home).
Indirect Purchaser States includes Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Hawaii, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
What Settlement Benefits Does The JELD-WEN Masonite Class Action Lawsuit Settlement Provide?
The JELD-WEN Masonite Interior Molded Door class action settlement reportedly provides for JELD-WEN and Masonite to create a settlement fund of $19,500,000 (“Settlement Fund”) to pay for the costs of notice and administration
expenses, attorneys’ fees, service awards to the Class Representatives, litigation expenses and valid class member claims.
Those included in the Settlement Class can submit claim forms by June 25, 2021 to request payment from the settlement fund. According to the class action settlement notice, it is estimated that each member of the Settlement Class who submits a valid claim will receive at least $25
