A class action settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit brought against Federated Investors, Inc., Federated Investment Management Company, Federated Equity Management Company of Pennsylvania, Federated Services Company, Federated Securities Corporation, and certain individuals (collectively “Defendants”) the United States District Court for the District of Maryland (styled In Re Mutual Funds Investment Litigation, MDL Docket Case No. 1586, In Re Excelsior, Federated, Scudder and AMCAP, Federated Subtrack, Civil Case No. 1:04-cv-00928-JFM; 04-mdl-00933) alleging violation of federal securities laws relating to alleged “market timing” and “late trading” within certain Federated Fluctuating Value Mutual Funds, according to class action settlement news reports.

On October 21 and 22, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., the Court is scheduled to hold a settlement fairness hearing on the proposed settlement at U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, Baltimore Division, 101 W. Lombard Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.
