Diamond Wireless, LLC (“Diamond Wireless” or “Defendant”) has reportedly agreed to a proposed settlement of a FACTA class action lawsuit against Diamond Wireless in the United States District Court for the Central District of California (styled as Ronald C. Betten and Esther Lafa v. Diamond Wireless, LLC, Case No. CV13-02885-CBM-(FFMx)) alleging, among other things, that Diamond Wireless printed the expiration date on consumer credit and/or debit card receipts at Diamond Wireless retail locations, purportedly in violation of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA), according to the Diamond Wireless FACTA class action settlement notice.
The Diamond Wireless FACTA settlement class reportedly includes, unless otherwise excluded, anyone who engaged in a credit card or debit card transaction with Diamond Wireless at one of its retail locations between April 24, 2011 and July 30, 2013.
The Diamond Wireless class action settlement will reportedly provide for the creation of a $1.25 million settlement fund. Settlement class members must file claims to recover settlement payments. I used my credit card there. I support Verizon over class action lawyers who seek causes that bring in money. Who cares about the expiration date on the sales receipt? I am opposed to this class action lawsuit.
