The Citizens Equity First Credit Union settlement class reportedly includes, unless otherwise excluded, all persons who purchased a motor vehicle and entered into an agreement subject to California’s Rees-Levering Automobile Sales Finance Act, Civil Code §2981, et seq., whose vehicle was repossessed or voluntarily surrendered, who was issued a Notice of Intent by Citizens Equity First Credit Union at any time between June 27, 2008 and July 31, 2012 and whose account was accessed a deficiency balance.
The Citizens Equity First Credit Union Repossessed Vehicle class action settlement will reportedly provide debt relief and non-cash benefits to all class members (i.e., the debt will be removed and Citizens Equity First Credit Union will not to attempt to collect any deficiency balance remaining after the sale of the repossessed vehicles which are the subject of the lawsuit) and additional cash benefits to certain class members who paid amounts toward a deficiency balance after repossession.
