A class action settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit pending against Broadcom Corp. and other Defendants in the the United States District Court for the Central District of California (Western Division) (styled In re Broadcom Corporation Class Action Litigation, No. CV-06-5036-R (CWx)), alleging, among other things, that Broadcom violated Section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (“Exchange Act”) and Rules 10b-5(a)-(c) by engaging in a fraudulent scheme to inflate Broadcom’s stock price by backdating stock option grants and issuing allegedly false and misleading statements to investors during the settlement class Period, according to the Broadcom securities class action settlement notice.
In the Broadcom stock option backdating securities class action lawsuit settlement, Broadcom has reportedly agreed to a settlement fund of $160,500,000 (before interest) to be divided, after deduction of Court-awarded attorneys’ fees and expenses, the Lead Plaintiff’s Court-approved costs and expenses, settlement administration costs and any applicable taxes (“Net Settlement Fund”), among all Broadcom settlement class members who timely submit valid Proofs of Claim.
The Broadcom settlement class reportedly includes all persons and entities that purchased or otherwise acquired Class A common stock of Broadcom Corp. during the period from July 21, 2005 through July 13, 2006, inclusive, and were allegedly damaged thereby, who are otherwise not excluded from the class action settlement.
A class action settlement hearing is scheduled to be held on August 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., in Courtroom 8 of the Spring Street Courthouse, the United States District Court for the Central District of California (Western Division), 312 N. Spring Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012, for the Court to consider, among other things, whether the settlement is fair, reasonable and adequate.

I did purchase BRCM stocks in Feb. of 2006. How do I check to see if I have filled all the paperwork properly??? I purchase a total of 400 share in 3 accounts. 200 shares in my accout, 100 shares in my wife’s
account, and 100 shares I my daughters account. I think I have filled to papper work but can not find a record that I did so. I have the Trade
confirmations from Schwab to show the transactions.
