I had to replace my front tires after 8,ooo miles. BMW said the car was out of alignment and it was not covered under the warranty for anything related. This was a brand new car and the tires were taken off for the winter. I was quoted approx . $4oo+ per tire plus labor.I was never so upset as this expense for a new car. I ended up putting on four regular tires from a local tire shop and have had no problems. I feel I should be compensated for this mess.
P.S. I drive long distances and the car never felt like it was out of alignment so it was a shock to me that BMW of Watertown ,CT was unhelpful!!!

we just got rid of our 2006 bmw 325 with runflats. front tires one size and rear tires another. went through 3 sets of tires at 75,000 and ready for the 4th. We said there must be a major issue with this vehicle. If we are entitled to something from this class action suit I surely would like to be informed. Thank you Doreen Robinson

BMW is intentionally ripping people off. They know they are still selling tires that are no good and are doing nothing about it. My deal, Hudson Valley BMW is playing dumb about the issue. They should be ashamed.

I was a member of this class action suit; however, I have not received any compensation or notice of compensation to date . Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Kimberly May 9, 2011, 2:16 pm

I submitted all required documentation November 2010 for RFT compensation under this class action suit. I have called on two separate occassions to request status of my claim and they say it is still under review. This is a class action suit that I understood to be settled and compensation to owners of BMW with defective Bridgestone RFT. Any suggestions on how to receive settlement that is owed to us?

You guys need to keep calling and checking. they are not going to come to you with the money. They want you to come to them so show them that you are not letting up!!!!

I also filed all the papers, including receipts, etc. I’ve heard nothing. Is there a time limit when claims must be paid? This has been dragging on a long time.

FINALLY…I received my settlement check yesterday 8/25/2011 from Gilardi & Co. I too was getting extremely frustrated at not receiving adequate information when calling for a status on my claim.

Does anyone know if there’s any suit or settlement in progress for BMW’s sold after 2007? My 2010 run flats are noisy and rough riding too – haven’t had them long enough to know if they’ll wear prematurely

I currently own a 06 BMW 325 i. I have Bridgestone 205/55/r16 RFT Turanza. I didn’t get a notice in the mail. My tires are worn and the warranty will not replace my flat tire because its worn. I cannot afford to buy new ones. What do you recommend me to do?

  • Weden December 22, 2011, 9:57 pm

I own my first and very last BMW. My 2008 3 series has been anything but the ultimate driving machine. With the crapy run flats, I have had to replace tires, repair wheels, and once had to spend $2000 to fix suspension problems. These tires simply do not absorbe any road energy. BMW simply ignores the problem and offer zero help. BMW is taking leasons form GM (from the 70’s….remember the diesel..at least these cars had good tires)!!!!

let’s get more media attention , BMW have ripped people off long enough!
Not to mention that we pay to much money for these cars to get poor quality… IF YOU ARE CONTEMPLATING BUYING BMW….. MY ADVICE BY DON’T DO IT.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone received any money from this class action lawsuit or received any correspondfence in reference to the lawsuit. I completed my paper work on time with the necessary docs and has not hreard anything. April 2012 will be a year since they settle. What is our next step to get the money that belong to us

  • Nee Nee March 7, 2012, 10:15 am

I submitted all required documentation my claim was under the mileage they have denied it twice I am going to submit it one more time. i bought three tires at 8000 miles the run flts made so much noise and went bald fast. The settlement people are unfair .

  • bill diesel March 20, 2012, 6:47 pm

Seriously there’s a post of someone saying they can’t afford tires but drive a BMW? Dont buy a car you cannot afford. Do your research before buying a car and stop blaming BMW as they didnt make the tires they were sold just like the rest of us.

  • Cam May 9, 2012, 12:04 am

Run-flat tires are a stupid idea, in that they’re heavy, expensive and ride terribly, but for someone to get rid of their car because they don’t like the tires is crazy. Replace the RFT with some non-RFT (like the top-rated Michelin Super Sport) and you’ll never look back.

  • Ted November 28, 2012, 11:29 am

I do not aware of this lawsuit and I still own the car and those tires last less than 20000 miles and worn out, dealer told me to replace them with no warranty coverage, I ended up replacement them out of my own packet. Can I still get involved?

My experience at Santa Monica BMW left such a bad taste, I will never do business with them again. I needed to replace 3 of my RFT within the first 12 months of my lease for my wife’s 320. the service manager told me it must have been her fault in that she must have been doing wheelies in the car, laying rubber upon acceleration from a dead stop, or something equally ridiculous. My wife is a 50 year old executive who never so as much got a parking ticket in her life. his comments were as ridiculous, as his attitude was rude and demenaing. He denied any responsibility for the failure of the RFT, and told me that I was the only person who ever complained about the tires as long as he had been there. I later found this to be a lie, in that after I posted my experience online I was contacted by 9 people with the same experience. A i discovered from other customers of this store, this is the kind of service and attitude you can expect from Santa Monica BMW. I wouldn’t ever go back there, even though my wife still likes BMW. Some of the folks, myself included, participated in the class action against BMW,and Bridgestone, and were successful in getting a settlement for the tires that had to be replaced. What a pain that could have been avoided with proper customer service.
