AT&T & SBC Internet Services DSL Speed Class Action Lawsuit Settlement

If you are a current or former AT&T DSL Customer You May Be Entitled To Benefits From An AT&T & SBC Internet Services d/b/a AT&T Internet Services Class Action Settlement.

A class action settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit against AT&T and SBC Internet Services, Inc. d/b/a AT&T Internet Services (collectively “AT&T” or “AT&T Internet Services” or “Defendants”) in the Court of Common Pleas For Cuyahoga County Ohio (styled Robert Schmidt v. AT&T and SBC Internet Services, Inc. d/b/a AT&T Internet Services Case No. 09-688788), alleging, among other things, that AT&T failed to deliver DSL Service to its customers at the speeds promised and that allegedly AT&T breached its contracts with and defrauded some of its customers by limiting the maximum data speed that some of its customers could obtain to a rate below the maximum rate for the plan the customer purchase, according to the AT&T & SBC Internet Services DSL Speed class action settlement website.

AT&T DSL Speed Settlement Class Members reportedly include current or former customers of AT&T who paid for DSL Service from AT&T between March 31, 1994 and January 27, 2012.

AT&T for the purposes of the AT&T & SBC DSL Speed Settlement reportedly means (unless otherwise specified) all AT&T entities, subsidiaries, and affiliates, including their predecessor and successor entities, and related entities, that provided, marketed, sold, or billed for DSL Service in the United States including without limitation, any state or territory thereof during the Settlement Class Period, including but not limited to: SBC Internet Services, Inc., d/b/a AT&T Internet Services; BellSouth Telecommunications, Inc.; Pacific Bell Internet Services; Southwestern Bell Internet Services, Inc.; Ameritech Interactive Media Services, Inc.; SNET Diversified Group, Inc.; Prodigy Communications Corporation; and Oklahoma Internet Online.

In order to receive any benefit from the AT&T & SBC Internet Services DSL Speed Settlement, you must submit a valid Claim Form by May 31, 2012.

Under the AT&T SBC DSL Speed class action settlement, if AT&T’s records show that, for one or more months, the speed of your DSL Service was limited to a rate below the maximum rate for the plan you purchased, you may be eligible to receive $2.90 for each such month. If AT&T’s records show that, for one or more months, your DSL Service may have performed at speeds lower than certain speed thresholds specified in the settlement, you may be eligible to receive $2.00 for each such month. If AT&T’s records show that your DSL Service fell into both of the categories above for one or more months, you may be eligible to receive $2.90 for each such month. If AT&T’s Records do not indicate that you fall into one of the categories above, but you believe that your DSL Service has not performed at satisfactory speeds, you may still be eligible for a one-time payment of $2.00.

Certain AT&T customers who purchased Express DSL service in the states of Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas and Texas are reportedly eligible for different monthly benefits. For more information on the settlement terms applying to these customers (the “Ford and Dunne subclass”), and to submit a claim if you think you might be one of these customers, visit the AT&T & SBC Express DSL Internet Speed Settlement website: www.expressdslspeedsettlement.com.

Under the AT&T DSL speed settlement, AT&T has also reportedly agreed, for a period of 3 years, to monitor its current customers to ensure each is receiving speeds within his or her speed plan and, where necessary and practicable, AT&T will either address the problem or adjust customers’ billing plans if they cannot consistently receive those speeds.

I just want to know where I can initiate or hop onboard the yahoo att dsl lawsuit that uncovers the massive security threat that not having a “way” to delete sbc accounts from yahoo accounts creates. I tried simply to delete an email to be told that it can’t be done.

AT&T DSL service has been frustrating for years ,slower than dial up used to be I complained but never got any help and then was forced to change to U-verse ( Others in my neighborhood tell me they were told they could not have U-verse here ) After hook up U-verse is even slower that the DSL ,taking so long to bring up a Web page or open e-mail but I just got an AT&T / U-verse bill for & 41.40 !None of my last 4 calls leaving messages have been answered

I received my check for $16.00 today, Oct. 4, 2012. The check states that it should be cashed by Sept. 30, 2012, which is past due. Can I still cash this check at the bank or will you please issue me another one. When did you send these checks out. I would appreciate an answer from you. The check is 5 days late. Thank you.

I was just advised by AT&T that I have been operating on a internet speed of 1.5mbps and have been paying for 6.0 mbps since 2010.

I am still upset! After most of the day I have not been able to go from page to page due to the speed of dsl and to top it off they just raised my fee from $29.95 to $33 per month.

To top it off, I have another account in Georgia in which I am paying $19.95 for the same service. How do you figure that? I think they are making us pay more in Arkansas than in Georgia because apparently they do not think we know any better or is it a class difference?

I want to know when and where to join the next lawsuit against att?
