The unsafe workplace part of this is understandable but I do not see how the second hand smoke part is going to work. These buildings have obviously been smoker friendly for years and years. It will be interesting to see if this case holds up in court.
People – when you took a job in a location where smoking was allowed, you accepted the conditions. Would this lawsuit mean that every wait and service staff who worked any place that allowed smoking at some point could file for compensation for secondhand smoke exposure? The State of Illinois made all bars and casinos smoke free a couple of years ago and Harrahs and other casinos attached smoking rooms with seperate ventilation and the smokers can take a break. The casinos dont them to get away. Harrahs use to be great back in the 1970’s in Reno and Lake Tahoe NV See what big corporations can do for us!!
