Filipino World War II Vets File Class Action Lawsuit Complaint Against The U.S. Department Of Veteran Affairs Over Lump Sum Pay Benefits.
A class action lawsuit has been filed against the United States Department of Veteran Affairs (“Department of Veteran Affairs” or “DVA” or “VA” or “Defendant”) in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California on behalf of 17,000 applicants who were allegedly denied lump sum benefits, according to class action lawsuit news reports.
The Filipino war veteran class action lawsuit complaint reportedly alleges that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (“ARRA”) signed into law in 2009 by US President Barack Obama, which allotted lower financial benefits to veterans who are non-U.S. citizens, violates the equal protection clause of the U.S. constitution and deprives them of due process.
The veterans class action lawsuit reportedly demands that lump sum benefits worth $15,000 for US citizen Filipino veterans and $9,000 for non-US citizen Filipino veterans be given to 17,000 veterans previously denied benefits. The Filipino World War II Veterans class action lawsuit also reportedly seeks to have the Department of Veteran Affairs accept new applications for benefits since a fire in Missouri in 1973 allegedly destroyed millions of military records.

I absolutely agreed of the action made by the Filipino veterans against the USDVA as my father is also a certified WW2 veteran who never had claim any of the benefits yet! I support this action and am willing to participate/join this group in any way I can to pursue such move until we finally get what we are really fighting for!
If you served the US Government regardless of race, creed or Color you should be intitled to the same benifits. The Va system is a failed system and their should be more Law suits for Due process in a timely manner!. Alot of Vets pass on and never see Any benifits And the problem is well known but the subject is Tabbo for our elected officials And nothing is being done about! My own appeal has been in the sytem going on for close to seven years and still no light at the end of the tunnel.
