Class Action Lawsuit Filed Against Allied Waste and Republic Services Over Environmental & Fuel Cost Recovery Fees
A class action lawsuit was filed against Allied Waste Industries, Inc. (“Allied Waste”) and Republic Services, Inc. (“Republic Service”) in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona (CLN Properties, Inc. and Maevers Management Company, Inc. v. Republic Services, Inc. and Allied Waste Industries, Inc., Case No. 2:09-cv-01428-DGV) alleging that defendants over charged waste removal and garbage disposal customers recovery fees for environmental or fuel costs that did not correspond to and fluctuate with actual fuel and environmental costs, according to a class action news report.
The Allied Waste and Republic Services class action lawsuit complaint reportedly alleges, among other things, that defendants charged “cost recovery fees” to recover rising fuel costs (a “fuel fee”) and rising environmental costs (an “environmental fee”), but then allegedly set the environmental and fuel cost recovery fees at levels that did not correspond to actual changes in Allied Waste’s and Republic Services’s fuel or environmental costs. Yes, my busines has paid these fees with Allied and I would like to know the status of the lawsuit .
How do I become a party to the class action lawsuit against Allied Waste Management? I have been a customer for several years and have paid the Environmental Recover Fee.
I paid the inflated fees to Allied waste and would like to be part of any lawsuits to recover the overcharges
Yes, I have also paid these fee’s, as well as dealt with their questionable tactics of charging service interruption fee’s, late fee’s when they are providing no service and many times do not pickup the trash!
I want to be included in this as well; I’ve paid these fees for several years and always thought they were bogus.
My wife and I have been paying Allied Waste for the fule recovery as well. We would like to join in the lawsuit. Allied Waste will not reinburst us for a pick up that never happened.
We have been paying these fee years and they are bogus. We also were not reimbursed for a pickup that never happened so we changed from WM to Republic, who made promises they didn’t keep and turns out to be the same company. This month we were charged 25% of the basic bill! They are picking up trash from others in our area.If WM is charging 25% to each of us they sure are making a lot of money from this bogus charge. I also want in on this lawsuit.
I am in the middle of trying to resolve overbilling for dump fees at a commercial re-roof job in okjlahoma city. Allied is overbilling to the tune of $10,000 plus. The job should have cost 14,500.00 in dump fees but is now at 27,000.00 the have been saying they would fix the problem but now the sales man I was dealing with has left the company. So I am having to start over again. I am now recieving threats of collection, legal action and reports against my credit and reports to Dunn and Bradstreet. What can I do?
Allied Waste Industries and Republic Services Environmental & Fuel Cost Recovery Fee Class Action Lawsuit Filed
i would like to be a part of this: how do I get involved?
I am being way over charged by Allied .Has this case been setteled yet? How can I be part of it?
I received republic services bill today. fuel price went down to $2.29 and on my bill from republic went up for recovery. Recovery cost is that a gimmick? Ar we going to get our money back ?
Check out Republic’s fuel recovery sheet. If the price of fuel doubles, the surcharge more than triples. How does that work. In the past year my fuel fee has been pretty constant but the price of fuel dropped about 25%. They raised their fee so the fuel fee would then also go up. They use an average for the nation. why am I subsidizing a high price area for fuel??
I’d like in on this if it’s still open.
We can’t get them off our property!! They are charging us $250/mo for a 2 yard dumpster!!
The price in our neighborhood for that size dumpster, as per their phone quote,
is 93.00!! And they won’t let me out of their “service agreement” which had some small print on the back, where you don’t even sign, saying you can’t get out of their service for 3 years…
w/out 60 day written notice. If theres anything i can do to join lawsuit, i will.
The USA already sued Allied waste/Repulic Services in ANTI-TRUST law suit
Innumerable states have sued them for anti-trust. They are evil.
Has anybody been able to get out of their clutches??
REPUBLIC ALLIED WASTE SERVICE 4-8-15
All of the above mentioned here has happened to me. If it’s happening to us, then it’s happening to EVERY SINGLE CUSTOMER THAT HAVE A BOGUS CONTRACT WITH THEM. I am tired of all the wasted multiple hours I have spent talking to this company on the phone about their illegal tactics trying to keep me under their clutch. I’ve been unhappily dealing with this company since 2000. On October 2013, I was manipulated to sign yet another 3 year contract which would include any tax and bogus fees) that proposed no more than $___for the first year, $___ for the 2nd year and $___for the 3rd year, specifically written on the comment portion of the contract by their sales rep. This company did not and does not honor their own contract agreement and they kept charging more than what was agreed upon. They have not picked up my trash for the whole month of March 2015 which I paid for, unless I pay all the extra charges that they incurred on my bill. They have threatened to take me to collections, legal action and file a lawsuit against me. I will no longer be extorted by this company. Please let me be included in this class action lawsuit, or direct me to file another class action lawsuit against them. This is madness. It has to stop.
I was being charged over $700/month for a 8 cu/yd dumpster with weekly pickup. When i first started using them 15 years ago the price was $175/month. I called them and asked if something could be done about the rate because it was killing me financially. They dropped it to $260/month. So for many years I was overpaying by several hundred dollars per month. If they weren’t the only game in town i would definitely be switching.
As for the fuel recovery fee, i thought that was a scam from the beginning. They can’t be trusted.
