Cell Phone User Files TCPA Class Action Lawsuit Complaint Against Wenner Media, Publisher of Rolling Stone, US Weekly & Men’s Journal, and Consumer Benefit Services Over Alleged Sending Of Unauthorized SMS Text Message Ads.

A class action lawsuit has been filed against the publisher of Rolling Stone, US Weekly & Men’s Journal magazines, Wenner Media LLC and marketer of subscription products, Consumer Benefit Services, Inc. (collectively “Defendants”) in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (styled Karen Schrock v. Wenner Media LLC and Consumer Benefit Services, Inc., Civil Action Case No. 1:10-cv-07230) alleging, among other things, that Defendants made unsolicited text message calls or wireless spam to cellular telephones in an effort to promote paid subscriptions to their products, including magazines, identity protection services and discount clubs, purportedly in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, 47 U.S.C. § 227, et seq. (“TCPA”), according to TCPA class action lawsuit news reports.

The Wenner Media & Consumer Benefit Services TCPA class action lawsuit complaint is reportedly brought on behalf of a putative class of all persons in the United States and its territories who received one or more alleged unauthorized text message advertisements on behalf of Defendants.
