Verizon TV Protection Plan Customers With Televisions Larger Than 32 Inches File Class Action Lawsuit Against Verizon.
A class action lawsuit has reportedly been filed against Verizon Communications, Inc. (“Verizon” or “Defendant”) in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey (entitled Maureen Chandra v. Verizon Communications Inc.) alleging, among other things, that Verizon improperly charged a $75 service fee to certain subscribers of its TV Protection Plan who had televisions larger than 32 inches, according to the Verizon TV Protection Plan class action lawsuit complaint.
The Verizon TV Protection Plan class action lawsuit is reportedly brought on behalf of the following proposed class, unless otherwise excluded:
All subscribers to the TV Protection Plan, that has one television larger than 32 inches covered under the TV Protection Plan during the time period the “Terms and Conditions for TV Protection Plan” were applicable.
The Verizon TV Protection Plan is also brought on behalf of a national Service Fee subclass of class members who paid a service fee for service for any such television during the same time period, as well as several New Jersey sub-classes.
The Verizon TV Protection Plan class action lawsuit complaint reportedly asserts claims for alleged violation of New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act, common law fraud and breach of contract.
