A class action lawsuit complaint has been filed against Samsung Electronics America, Inc. (“Samsung Electronics” or “Samsung” or “Defendant”) in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts (styled Amy Rothbaum v. Samsung Electronics America, Inc., Class Action Case No. 11-cv-10509), alleging, among other things, that Samsung sold its Samsung Captivate™, Samsung Fascinate™, Samsung Vibrant™, and Samsung Epic 4G™ cellular phones (collectively the “Samsung Galaxy S Phones” or “Samsung Phones”) with a design defect that causes the phones to randomly shut down (“Random Shut Down Defect”), according to the Samsung Galaxy S cell phone class action lawsuit complaint.
