Owners & Lessees Of Ford Vehicles With Ford Power Stroke Diesel Engine File Class Action Lawsuit Complaint Against Ford & Navistar Over Allegedly Defective Diesel Engines.
A class action lawsuit has been filed against Ford Motor Company (“Ford Motor” or “Ford”) and Navistar, Inc. (“Navistar”) f/k/a International Truck and Engine Corporation (collectively “Defendants”) in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California (styled Brandon Burns v. Navistar, Inc. and Ford Motor Company, Civil Action Case No. 3:10-cv-02295-LAB -BGS) alleging, among other things, that Defendants manufactured, marketed and/or sold Ford’s Super Duty trucks and Ford Excursion vehicles for model years 2003-2007 that contained Ford & Navistar manufactured 6L Power Stroke Diesel Engines that allegedly suffer from manufacturing and design defects that render the engines and vehicles unmerchantable and unsuitable, according to the Ford & Navistar 6L Power Stroke Diesel Engine class action lawsuit complaint.
The Ford & Navistar 6L Power Stroke Diesel Engine class action lawsuit complaint is reportedly brought on behalf of a putative class of all owners and lessees within California of Ford vehicles equipped with Navistar’s 6.0 L diesel engine, commonly referred to as the Power Stroke V8 Turbo diesel engine, unless otherwise excluded.

I still own the truck which now has a blown head gasket bad EGR, etc… I stil want to take my kids camping (no wife of course) but I don’t have the $$$ for the repairs. Oh and by the way, there are no modifications to the truck which has appr., 50K miles on it. It sits in my friends backyard for a year now.
I WOULD LIKE TO JOIN THIS LAWSUIT..I HAVE A 2005 6.0 LITER WITH A BAD TURBO ALONG WITH A ON / OFF AGAIN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT..39,137 MILES ON THIS F-250. AND FORD IS JUST MILKING THERE RESPONSE TO ANY COVERAGE..I HAVE DONE ALL THE FOOTWORK..THEY PROMISE TO CALL AT CERTAIN DATES BUT NO ONE EVER DOES..

2004 f350 dually 6.0 before warranty was up 53000 miles, in 27 times for oil leaks, injectors, 2 computors, shitty mileage, batteries went bad because computor, no head gasket problems yet, but it has 55000 miles and i drive it as little as possible, and when i do, i drive it like there is a egg on the gas pedal, everytime i fill up i think i made it another tank!!! can’t sell it nobody wants it, be lucky to get $15000 on trade, with only 55000 miles, ball joints out at 47000 miles brakes and rotors 36000 miles, WTF. my 01 7.3 trans went out at 70000 my 01 dodge 1ton 130000 1 trans, 1 power steering pump, 1 lift pump way cheaper than owning a ford, any one want a f350 crew cab short box 6.0 with 55000 miles a hell of a deal. !!!!! where can i sign up??? from wi.
I have a 2006 F-350, I purchased it new at the end of 2005. Less then 6 months after having the truck we started having major problems with it. After taking it into ford NUMEROUS times, which resulted in no repairs, because “the problem could not be verified” the turbo blew. They had to pull the whole engine apart because coolant went through-out the engine. They had to drop the tranny for reasons unknown, since everytime we told them about the problems with the tranny they couldnt verify it. I can not believe that we paid over 50,000 for a brand new truck, that we can not use it for what it was supposed to be made to do. By the way my truck has less then 36,000 miles on it. CAN YOU HELP US PLEASE?????
2005 F350 crew cab duelly—sits in the driveway as I write this black smoke rolling out the pipe. This POS has been on a tow truck as much as it has been driven. with my truck in the shop again hoping that ford will fix my truck i bought a 50.000 dollar problem that has no end my business is losing money everytime the truck gose out its been in the shop three time with the same problem i wish i can get someone to help me with this.
HELP
Have a 2003 F350 and a 2005 Excursion. First failure was during an emergency 911 call to repair a lighting strike on the 911 system. Oil EGR cooler blew due to a clogged oil cooler. FORD knew of this problem and even came out with a cleaner for the cooling system to keep these clogs from forming. PROBLEM IS they have FAILED to notify US END USERS of this issue, only telling dealers, and the dealers have no obligation to tell the customers. This repair was 8 thousand dollars. Then the other vehicles turbo froze up. this was a total of a 3500 repair. I have owned older 7.3’s and older engines and have sold these vehicles with over 450,000 miles on them with only very minor engine problems such as return fuel rubber hoses and the like. my one vehicle had 108,00 when the cooler went and the turbo went at 85000 but was over 5 years. they would not cover a thing. Bought extended warranty on both but coverage company canceled both polices claiming they only covered vehicles for personal use not work use. HOW DO I JOIN THIS LAWSUIT???????
We have a 2005 350 6.0 diesel and it has had low oil pressure issues plus injector problems. This has left us on foot more than once we have well over 10,000.00 in it , with no help from ford but some lame line. We will stay away from ford because thay sell junk and wiil not back their product.

My only comment is I would love to see how much over GVWR most of these owners routinely loaded/towed. Toyota found out the hard way when it got into the US Truck market that in this country you build a truck that is going to be overloaded and be operated with an over the warranty weight load towed behind it for most of its life. Apologies to those of you who weren’t guilty of overload and overtow.
I would love a case # or any info on the 6.0 deisel law suit/class action . my 2007 is loseing coolent , i have 105.000 miles has been a good truck till now. naturaly nothing ever goes bad until the day the warranty exspires. please e mail me @ framethis 5150@yahoo.com
I have a 2004 F-250 6.0L Egr cooler went then the head gaskets. It is still in the shop estimate over 5,000.00. This all happened 5-days ago and today a good friend called me this morning and the same thing happened to his 2005 F-250 6.0. We would like to join the lawsuit as well. This is unfair. tomallison@mac.com. Need help family can’t afford this.
I just spent $2400.00 on my 05 f250 6.0L to have a service and repairs that should have cost $900.00. There were several problems (fuel leaks etc.) that needed repairs. I bought an aftermarket warranty and had a factory warranty and guess what, I missed the warranty end date by 2 weeks. The Ford dealer was of no help whatsoever on this issue. so i am out of pocket $1500.00.

Nolon LeBoeuf I have a 2006 f-350 king ranch 4\ 4 i bought in oct-2009. when running you can’t beat it . But when you have to go to the shop you need to bring a ass of money with you .Sept 2010 i went to michigan and lost the injector computer and number 1 & 3 injectors . July 2011 i was going to corpus christi Texas 100 miles from home i lost number 3 & 5 injectors i got towed home. I had them replaced and drove about 150 miles and i have numbers 1 & 7 injectors that is bad less than a week . now i don’t know if i will fix it or go buy a G M C truck. i have ben a hard core ford man for more than 30 years . I try a dodge it lasted for about a year dodge just can’t stand next to a ford but i’m looking at Dodges, G M C s, and Chevrolets . I will get in touch with the katriel law
firm .
Ford advertised “more efficient engine”. I traded in a ’99 7.3 F250 SD that got 16 miles to gallon for a new 2005 F250 SD 6.0 “more efficient” that gets 10 miles to the gallon. I can’t afford to drive it. I called Ford, and could not get past the lady that answers the phone. She always told me I would be contacted within 24 hours. I was never contacted. I talked to two seperate Ford dealerships service managers, and both told me I could not expect anything near the service from this engine that I could from the 7.3. I feel Ford should make good on their advertising and replace the engines with a more efficient ones.
I have a 2006 F250 diesel turbo – in the shop twice now in my one year ownership for IPR and HPOP – Ford won’t return to 7 mos. ago (when under warranty) and honor this new completely related work. I just paid $3200 for HPOP! Please include me in the lawsuit.
I would like to be included in this lawsuit against Ford Motir Company. I had a 2004 F-350 6.0L and had the engine replaced 5 times and the Transmission replaced 1 time. The truck still would not work. It blew up again shorlty after I had the engine replaced for the fifth time.
We have owned two of these lousy trucks. One was given back to the company which went against our credit, but we could not afford a 900.00 a month truck note and the repair bills. The warrenty went out on the black truck and 1,000 miles later the engine blew. Now we have another, 67k and we have had it in the shop a multitude of times, no warrenty because it is over 5 yrs old. No one wants them and they hold no value. What are we suppose to do with the economy like it is. Our truck payment is 350.00 and our latest repair bill this month for the second time is 750.00. So FORD MOTOR what are you going to do about these costly engines that no one can afford to have fixed or afford to trade off? Give us a break. My family has only owned Ford trucks since the 1960’s, not saying much for a company that won’t fix what IS DEFINATELY BROKEN, why would we want to continue to use your product line????????
Yes, I forgot to include 2005 F 350 diesel and 2006 F350 diesel, both loaded and look great on the outside but the inside as I said is another story. How do you become a class member in this law suite. Would love to be able to recoup some of my hard earned $$$$$.
tubo apart three times,e.g.r. valve apart &cleaned crank shaft plate seal relaced.only 55,000 on a2005
I just took my 2006 F-350 Kingranch into the local ford dealer today only to find out that it needs $6000.00 worth of work on the 6.0L diesel, what a crock!I will definately join the class action suit, please tell me how.Ford should not get away with this crap.

I own a 05 F250 6.0 4×4. This is the most unreliable piece of crap that I have ever owned. Ist break down on the way to Vegas. Covered under warranty the EGR cooler. 2nd break down 95k miles 5yrs and 2 months..The dealer said that it was going to be $3500 to fix. I asked if there was any other options and the manager said that I had 2 options slim and none and slim just left. That should tell you what Ford feels about these pieces of crap. I called ford and they said since I was 2 months out of warranty I would not be covered. I had it fixed for about a grand. 3rd breakdown stuck in my driveway $2500 fuel injection control module. 4th breakdown stuck in Los Angeles $3400 high pressure pump which cracked the back cover on the motor. Now this pile of crap is eating up coolant…I have only mentioned the major horrors with this motor there are plenty more. FORD NEEDS TO BE FORCED TO RECALL THESE.

On August 3rd 2011, 6 days ago, I took my family camping in our 2004 f350 4×4 fx4 that has only 41,000 miles on it. I take excellent care of my truck and its paid off. I paid $48,000 for this truck with every available bell and whistle you could get on these trucks. The campground is about 115 miles from our home. As soon as we arrived at the campground the truck started blowing white smoke from the exhaust. All of the coolant was gone from the system. I was forced to put water in the radiator. After putting in 5 gallons of water I noticed the level just kept dropping even though the truck was not running. I then noticed all the water that I had put in it started leaking from every orifice of the exhaust system as well as from the motor itself. The dipstick was also showing way above maximum so I knew there was water in the oil pan. There is no phone service or amenities where we camp. I had to hike out 8 miles ( I am disabled with severe spinal problems) to the main road and hitchhike into town and call a tow truck service to tow the beast home at a cost of $1200.00. I am so angry right now I am beside myself. The truck is going to the dealer where I purchased it tomorrow. I want to sue the pants off these crooks so bad now. The spinal injection I just had about 3 weeks ago to help relieve some of my pain was for nothing. At this moment I could barely stand the pain and have had to double up on my morphine and norco (double vicodin) medications just to function. I cannot afford to pay $5000.00 to have this truck fixed and still have no guarantee that it wont happen again. This is a horrible situation to be in. To top it off I just put 4 brand new tires on the truck at a cost of $940.00 the day before we left. I just cannot fathom the stroke of terrible luck I have had over the last week. If anyone has any information of how to go about joining this lawsuit please help. I wish you all the best with your own situations and god bless, I will be praying for us all.

2004 Ford Excursion, 6.0 diesel. Sometime after new purchase, discovered engine is 2003 build, with some 2004 parts. Numerous problems all along. Have replaced 18 fuel injectors (two complete changes, turbo twice, egr, oil cooler, numerous other items to engine. Now have 176,000 miles. Have spent thousands keeping it running! I want to join class action lawsuit!
Looking for information as to Canadian class action suits against Ford in regards to the infamous 6.0 motor for 2004 diesel 350. We have put over $20,000 in repairs in the past 3 years and can no longer afford extra repairs. Seniors on a limited income, we bought this truck to pull our 5th wheel to travel and now, can go no further than 50 km’s from home cause we can’t trust our vehicle. Help us please!

Count me in also! I would appreciate any information as well. I was 6 days out of warranty and only 56k miles EGR cooler and all the rest as well. No comfort from Ford Customer Service even with the knowledge of the plagued engine. I want to sign up as well!!!!!
I unfortunately own a 05 550 and do not have the time to type every problem I have had! Just a quick summary 16 injectors 3 egr coolers 1 turbo 2 fans 1 high pressure oil pump etc… 5 tows and many fights with warranty dept!!! I am sending this while sleeping outside a ford shop waiting for them to open in the morning to help repair the new issue! I looked in the shop window and there are already 3 of them in there! I’m in let’s fight!
Can I join the law suit if I live in Nevada?
I have a 2006 F250 with 68500 miles and the head gaskets blown. It was in the shop being repaired under warranty for the EGR & Oil cooler the end of May. My local Ford Shop ( Cogswell Motors ) held the truck in their shop until the warranty ran out (6-11-11) I drove the truck 1,000 miles after repairs and the head gaskets blew. Ford will not stand behind the head gaskets. I am ready to fight tell me how to join in.
I contacted this attorneys office yesterday. Within 15 minutes I got a call back. They are sending out forms for me to sign and return. The woman stated that they are working through the Illinois court system to obtain class action status. You can go to their website and form fill in your information or here is the attorneys office address and phone number if you want to call directly. Ford wants to charge me $8,400.00 to repair the egr valve cooler and head gasket on top of the $1,200.00 I just paid to tow it home through AAA. According to the woman I spoke with from the attorneys office, tI does not matter what state you live in. Call today. Ford has done enough damage to its customers finances and its a shame they will continue to profit off us through their service departments. Dishonest and unethical to say the least. Tell them Jeff Clark referred you. Hope this helps.

Update: I pulled my truck out of the ford dealer and had it towed to a reputable shop. They are telling me I need a new engine. They quoted me $16,500.00 to get a new motor dropped in, not including the catalytic converter that had engine oil and coolant pouring out of it that in all likely hood burned out. This is outrageous. Where is that worthless Obama when you need him. He wants to regulate and run everything else except telling ford to fix our problems. Cant make the American auto makers look bad at this point can we? Sorry but I am buying foreign from here on out. Just bought my wife a Toyota Corolla and we love it. Thinking about parting out this piece of crap and getting a Tundra. Screw the U.A.W. and screw American made vehicles. Never again.
we have just paid for our 2005/ F-250 7/2011. and yesterday 8/l5 had it towed to the shop. repaired something with a “oil” whatever $1934.26 REPAIR BILL drove the truck back home 18 miles. would not re-start had to have it towed back to the dealer and were the motor is ruined that a rod went thru the motor. they would give us $4000.00 on a 43,000.00 trade in. totally insane the truck new was 52,000.00 and now it is just a piece of junk. it only has 86K miles one owner. SORRY . We work very hard for our money and something needs to be addressed with this problem. thank you. judy wells
I have an f40 super duty 6.4Liter diesel that builds up to 11 quarts of oil (total 24 quarts) every 250 hours of engine time. Fords oil change specs went from 10,000 miles to 7,500 miles to 300 hours now they want me to change the oil every 250 GALLONS of fuel so I don’t blow the motor. This is a defect in the reginitive feedback system I believe. I have 34,000 miles left on the extended warrantee.
we to had a 2007 ford diesel they said it died because of contaminated fuel called my insurance company they came out and said it was due to bad fuel pump and injectors and all kinds of stuff ford dealership said it would cost 9000 dollars got independent mechanic from ford to temp fix for 3000 and got rid of it this is a 59,000 dollar truck ford stand for found dead on road they so ripped us off plz send me anything u can 8178962200 thank u
I have 2006 6liter diesel? 67k and have been at repair shop for 15 times and now stil is at dealer for oil cooler ,egr problems
PLEASE sent meinfo on low suit Thank You
2006 – F250 Powerstroke – EGR Cooler & Oil Cooler failure. 61k on the 6.o L . Took to Ford and was told they never saw this problem before. Wanted $ 8,000 or more depending upon damage. Got a second opinon from local diesel expert. He claims he repairs 1 – 2 Powerstrokes a month for this same problem. Estimate $5,700. Extended warranty company balking at repair. Claims it is an emmission system failure….anybody know a good insurance claim attorney? Can I be a part of this class action activity?
How many Signitures are needed to get this lawsuit going? 2005 F250 128000 miles bad ERG cooler, EGR valve, Oil Cooler, possibly injectors etc. etc. etc. I dont make enough money to keep this truck running. This is BULL SH*T. Ford needs to own up to it’s crappy engineering and PAY OUT!!
2005 f-350 high pressure oil pump, Ipr valve, engine wire harness ,truck jerks harshly(engine related) in the shop now for elect. problems again!!! ford dealership say it has no problems…told him take a ride with me and hold a hot cup of coffee … he refused!! Add me to the list
I TRIED TO JOIN EARLY ON BUT HAD A STROKE AND CCOULD NOT GET TO MY RECORDS. I NOW HAVE MY BILL OF SALE AND WANT TO BE INCLUDED
Since our last submission to this issue…Just one month after the $2000 repair and charge on the oil pump we again trusted our Ford to tow o small travel trailer;engine warning light sent us to the nearest dealer which was diagnosed as a failed turbo (turbo had previously been cleaned while under warranty). This repair cost us our vacation ($2700) and sent us home early. On the way home we again got a “limp home” warning with instructions to get the truck into the dealer ASAP. Now what? I guess we will get that good news tomorrow.
Same thing here as all the other posts like a broken record. 2004 Ford F250 6.0 only 58,000 miles and yep EGR Valve, EGR cooler, and oil cooler and it was $3400.00 to fix. Ford customer service doesnt care. I will be calling the above 800 numbers until I find someone to take this on.
I purchased a new 2005 F 250 diesel in November of 2004. Shortly after I purchased a travel trailer as we are retired. Now can’t use the trailer because I can’t trust the 6.0L diesel. My pickup is in creampuff condition but doesn’t run. Has only 42,000 miles in nearly 7 years. First problem just before warranty expired the tranny case broke when it was parked. I got nervous about Ford quality and purchased extended warranty and in 2010 failed to start. Drew Ford said bring it in so I had it towed to Drew Ford and they couldn’t get to it because of so many broken down diesels. Towed to El Cajon Ford. They replaced cam position sensor. Failed same as before next day. (They didn’t fix it and charged me $285). Warranty wouldn’t cover! I got it running and just rarely drive it. (Problem has been intermittant for one year). Failed again recently and this time just wouldn’t start. Towed again to Drew Ford and it’s been a week and no word from them. I’m not interested in getting it back. Ford has to ‘man up’ and fix these things or somehow make it right. I would like to participate in a class action against Ford Motor Company.
I have a 2004 F350 Crew Cab Larait and at 127,000 miles started putting out white smoke from exhaust. Took it t Ford Dealership and the told me the EGR cooler was bad and to replace it would cost $2,950.00. I just let it set and then I bought a new EGR cooler from Sinister with the upgrade oil cooler and stainless steel oil screen. This cost me $836 and then another $850 to have it installed at a local mechanic. It run good now but I think it runs hotter now and I don’t really trust the engine anymore. I think everyone should send a copy of everyones complaint to CNN, HLN and your local TV stations and really get the word out. I want in the lawsuit!!!
This is i wrote to Ford the other day. Sorry its so long I was not very happy. let me know were to sign up. Im all in!!!
I’m writing this today after a year and a half long battle with a 06 F-250 PSD. it started about 89k miles it was blowing coolant out of the boost bottle took it into the nearest dealer and they said it was a bad bottle. OK so the plastic bottle doesn’t hold the coolant in a $40k truck whatever so I wait two and a half weeks for them to get a new one (mind you I’m out of town). I get the truck back and it’s still doing this on occasion (under load, that’s why I bought a diesel)so I called the dealer in my town and they told me I have to take it back there. I’m a union working man with a family and travel a lot for work, I don’t have a lot of time to run trucks around to dealers and find rides to work for weeks at a time. I limp this thing around for another 13k miles and the EGR cooler goes out ( bet you never heard of that one)I know for a fact that it did not over heat and as the coolant that blew out of that brand new plastic bottle was checked and replaced daily if needed. I call the local dealer again and tell them what happened but they can’t do anything for me because I’m now out of warranty but they can replace it for $5500 WOW that seems like a lot. So the truck sits for months until I save up enough money to pay for this repair. By the way I called ford to help out with repair and they said NOPE OUT OF WARRANTY! Thanks ford. I’m guessing they figured that they got away from this truck with only a plastic bottle repair on it lucky them. Not to mention the cause of this whole thing could have been head gaskets maybe? now I have enough money to pay for the EGR cooler, instead of going to the dealer because of all of the other problems other people have been having I took it to another shop that charged me $1500 (an ex-ford dealer mechanic)so I had him look at the A/C also because it was acting up also. It turns out the entire A/C was shot. So there went the extra money $4500 total. But she’s back on the road again, I can take my kids boating, camping, and snowmobiling again! So I put on about 200 miles when this ford breaks down on top of a mountain pass and leaves me and my family stranded for about four hours. Back to the shop for and alternator, ipc, and a turbo another $3000. OK so the mech. puts it back together and it still does not run, so I ask him what’s the problem now, he tells me it’s the HPOP and head gaskets are totally gone. I paid him for what I owed him, call a tow truck to haul it back to my house because I can’t afford a ford truck obviously. I did some research on these trucks and apparently 1000’s of other people are having the exact same problems as my truck has. Hum weird. The only problem I haven’t heard of is this darn plastic bottle that started off my money pit. Now I have a 103K mile ford truck sitting in my driveway that will cost me in the neighborhood of $4-$6k to fix.NICE! I call ford again today to see if they can give some kind of help and there answer was NOPE OUT OF WARRANTY. Thanks ford. you know I don’t wish bad on anybody but I hope all this stuff catches up to the ford motor company and they go out of business that way they can’t make anybody else suffer with their product like me. I’m stuck with this thing now because I can’t afford to fix it and I don’t know enough about it to fix it. It almost like they programmed these to go right at100k miles. I do lots of work in nuclear plants and hospitals I wonder what would happen if my workmanship and service was like ford? But thanks again ford. anyone want to help a brother out with some tech. advice I would be so grateful tdraver503@charter.net who would of thought that a expensive diesel truck is only good for 100k mile, I didn’t, thats why I bought one. Opps.
2005 F250…87,000 miles

HOW DO I JOIN THIS CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT?
We have a 2004 F550 with a 6.0 L diesel engine. It spends more time in the shop than it does at home. Is there a way someone from Florida can get in on one of these suits?
If you find out how to join in on a class action please let me know. I’m in Florida too, have a 2006 F250 and having the same egr problems. I’m afraid to pay again for repairs, so it’s sitting and I still owe on it.
Thanks
If anyone knows how to join the class action lawsuit, please let us know, too.
Thanks
I have been a loyal ford customer for 25 years. 2005 f450 has been at adealership for 2months,they tell me it needs a new motor. After $5,000.00 it still won’t start. It only has 51,000 miles and maintained perfect by our shop mechanic. Ford say’s they are giving me a deal at 6,200 to put in a new long block. I told them to shove it up their !!! by the way I told them I am a fleet customer and they still don’t care. Can anyone help?
I have a 2004 F250 Super duty with 6.0 L diesel . Have had most the experiences above, including pulling my travel trailer and my truck dying over 100 miles away from home. Not only the truck repair cost, but the towing of both the trailer AND the truck. Acting up and dying on me again this week! I’m tired of it, how do I get more information about this lawsuit?
I was looking at getting a 05+ F250 diesel, but after seeing the pages and pages of horror stories, i think i’ll wait. How do you get included in this law suit?
I owned a 05 super duty, and it was in and out of the shop 30+ times in 2 years, over a year with it in the shop,i had to let the bank come get it because the motor had blown along with injectors and everything else that had happend to it, so now I still owe $20,000+ on a truck that I don’t even own cause they would not not warranty it, needless to say I own a Dodge now, can I be apart of this class action lawsuit.
I have a 2005 F-350 SD dually 4×4 KingRanch. I owned this for just over a year and a half and SPENT over $6000.00 in EGR, Turbo and other various components. I want to join this lawsuit. My family has worked for Ford for over 60 years and the pride thing is over. I want my truck fixed correctly of my money back.
How do i join this class action lawsuit. I have a 2004 ford 250 with 54,000 miles and blown head gaskets . I think there logo ford tough is not wright it should be ford weak.
I want in!!! I have an 2004 F-550. That I have had all of the above problems. Brakes, injectors, egr, head gasket!!! After all this work the computer is not compatible with the head gasket repair. All repairs have been done by a Ford Certified shop. I make my living with this truck. I can’t afford a new truck and I’m 19,000.00 in repairs. I contacted Ford and was told “WE HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF A PROBLEM WITH THE 6.0” I have never heard such bs!!!! I’m interested in any information or help I can get!!!!!
I have 2 of the 6.0 diesels a 2005 F-350 and a 2006 F-250. I am having the same issues just spent $4,000 from november to july at 65,000 miles. Who do I contact, where do I sign up? I keep seeing comments but no info on where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated.
I have 2005 F350 at 19000 mi. lost my heads. Now at 70000 mi. Whole engine is gone. I’m forced to spend $18000.00 or look at a yard ornament. No help from Ford will this motor last? I would love to join the fight.
I need to join this suit. I have an 2005 F-350 who has replaced four egrs, injectors and head gaskets. The last time went out was over a year ago so it is sitting in the garage while I am making payments and insurance. All repairs have been done by a Ford dealership. If you know of a class action suit available to a Texan please let me know. What a ripoff!!
How do I get in on this?
My 2003 88,000 mile F350 regency dually 6.0 is having just about every problem everyone else is talking about. We purchased the truck 16mths ago and still owe a HUGE amount.
We are without transportation now and if the bank gets their way we may loose the truck, the house and the whole lot.
After reading the docket for the lawsuit I’m wondering if we all shouldn’t contact the attorney Roy A katriel and Katriel law Firm? 1-858-350-4342
The class action suit by Katriel Law Firm is for California residents. A national class action suit is being persued by Piscitelli Law Firm. Their phone # is 1-800-931-7071. Currently the suit is being reviewed by a judge.
I own 2 2005 6 liters one I rebuilt with 140,000 miles for $11,000 the other just went down w/ blown head gasket at 150,000 cost $7900.00 can I join the class action suit?
I have a 2005 f250 with the 6.0l powerjoke at 137k the egr valve went bad on it now at 147k it is in the shop and needs 2 injectors , fuel pump, hpop (high pressure oil pump) dummy plugs, and ipr valve around $5000.00 just wondering if I qulify for class action
I am in Florida and have one also. EGR, oilcooler Injectors problems with it 2006 f305 6.0
My husband’s 2005 F-250 is in at the Ford dealer right now getting a new head gasket. Nothing but problems with this truck. Transmission went at 20,000 miles, along with a bad rear seal on the engine. The dealer that did that repair did not put the turbo pipe on correctly, so it blew off and got stuck between the hood and alternator, shorting out electrical system. Lately its been overheating while towing a 7,000 fifthwheel, a far cry from what this truck is supposed to be capable. Fortunately we have an extended warranty with Ford, but they need to call an inspector to look at the engine after it is torn down to see if this problem if from our neglect. Sure hope its covered. Any one know of a class action for Ohio residents?
I have a 2003 Excursion 6.o. I have put in so far $18,000.00 and I still owe money on it. We have five children and this is our only vehicle. Ford should not have even built this motor. All the work has been in our motor.
Im in NY w 04 Excursion…needs oilcooler and EGR valve replacement…gonna cost thousands. Can’t afford to fix it…I need in on a class action suit!
2006 F250 6.0L diesel purchased used 1.5 years ago. Bedplate leak, warranty expired.
I can purchase an extended warranty for $3,900 good for 3 years from now that is supposed to cover the oil leak and other things posters complain about breaking. Do you think I should purchase the extended dealer warranty? I’m not in a financial position to get another vehicle.
I’m in California and would participate in Class Action suit if possible.
All of you need to know about ownership of a diesel truck…NO 1 truck is perfect. As soon as you figure that out, you will understand the complexity of the engineering. EVERY year the EPA comes out with new restrictions…How does that help development? Do you think they come up with an engine in 6 months? NO. Fix the issues and move on. Don’t bitch about getting in on a class action lawsuit. Why do you think Ford sued International/Navistar? IF you’re a Powerstroke owner, do your research to bullet proof your 6.0. I have a 6.0 and love everything about it…Problems in all. From injectors to EGR to turbo to transmission. You name it, I’ve dealt with it.
So, to sum up what YOU need to do:
-EGR delete or Bullet Proof Diesels EGR system
-Coolant by-pass system
-ARP or H11 studs with OEM gaskets
-ELC (Extended Life Coolant); get rid of the Ford Gold crap…It contains silicates and will block the Oil Cooler under heavy heat.
-Get and Edge Insight CTS/CS monitor and pay attention to temperatures and other vitals
-Drive it like you stole it. The 6.0 NEEDS to be laid down and driven hard to clean out the carbon.
Keep up with regular maintenance. Oil changes every 5k-6k depending on driving conditions. Fuel filters every 3rd oil change or 15k. Add a fuel additive such as Diesel Kleen to every tank or every other tank.
you say fix it and shut up and move on…. it we pay $45.000 for a truck we should not have to deal with the problems that this Ford truck has. and take more money out of our pocket and put in a truck that has less then 110,000 miles on it.. u cant sale it … it has alot of problems that should never happen… Ford will not stand behind the brand…. stay away from you Ford Dealer… i still see the same trucks on ford used lots for sale. with the same 6.0 motor in them……….. stay away from ford trucks….. 2 motors in 3 weeks…
Jon
We leave in Mesa, Arizona and want to know how much you paid to bullet proof. Bulletproof is located in Mesa and I have an appointment with them tomorrow. Please contact me @ fatcatgray@msn.com
I have owned THREE F250’s with the 6.0 Liter Diesel.
The first failed at 33,000 miles with a High pressure Oil pump failer.
The second failed at 53,000 miles with a High pressure Oil pump failer.
The third failed at 64,000 miles with a HIgh pressure Oil pump failer.
I have spoken to several ford Diesel mechanics whom have stated that this is a NOTORIOUS problem with this engine.
Ford has decided to have their loyal customers take care of the 1,800 USD fix instead of acknowleging that the engine has thie “pattern failer” with the 6.0 liter Diesel engines.
THREE trucks, THREE failers. That is a 100 percent failer rate well before the 100,000 mile warrenty.
The last two I had to pay for because they were out of the 5 year warrenty. BULL PUCKEY folks !!
I told FORD: “To do my duty to God and my Country to tell everyone one I know my story and with all my inflence to have anyone to NOT buy a Ford product”. I only hope I can do this for the rest of my life on a continual basis and hopefully cost Ford 100’s of thousands of dollars in lost sales due to MY story and Fords Sorry ass excuse for a Diesel engine. I have Vowed to do as much damage as i can through blogs, emails, phone calls, conversations, tweets, forums and whatever.
I do this knowing that no Judge or Jury would convict me of slander when they hear my story.
So sign me up PLEASE !!
I want in ,my 2005 f350 6.0 is a money pit. It spends more time at the shop for injrctors, fuel pump, glow plugs, and now it’s going back to the shop losing power. Enging goes silent with foot on pedal stoped running last night . Started up this morning ran for a while went dead again.
My 2005 F-350 has been in the shop for a turbo and FICM replacements and other problems with only 58000 mles. I have no confidence in the fiture reliability of this truck. Count me in!
i have had alot of problems with my 05 f-550 and i would like to get in on the lawsuit
$2,000 in repairs this week. 115,000 miles. Cleaned EGR value..replaced two injectors…plus some other repairs. More to follow I’m sure.
I have a 2005 f-350 king ranch with the 6.0 in it we have spent 6000.00 in the last 10 months doing repairs it is in the shop now having head studs high pressure oin pump etc. cost will be around 5000.00 does it ever stop
How do I become a member of this class action suit–This is the worst excuse for an engine and computer system I have seen.. I scared to haul my horses across town much less out of the county. The next truck I buy will be a dodge that way I knowing going in I have a piece of crap.
I did buy my F250 used. I only dorve it for 12000 miles and now it may cost me as much as $5000.00 to fix. Ford should take care of the problems. Count me in….
I have a 2005 F-350 4×4. It has the V10 gas engine. The past few years I have had the wobble begin to show up, leading me to change tires, change shocks, install steering link shocks, to having the front steering linkage replaced last year. Slowly over the course of the year it began to wobble again to it’s worse now ever. The local dealer did not seem to want to discuss the matter, as I was blaming Ford for the problem and should be fixed by them as a recall measure. I had to take it to a local tire shop for care. Now another change of tires, and reworking the steering linkage to attempt to fix it! I like Ford, but not the way they are handling this problem of theirs.
I purchased a 2005 Ford F250 King Ranch series and it has been in the shop over a month, even with repairs it still won’t be fixed for long. i purchased a diesel to get more miles, it has 70.00 thousand and is junk, I need to be part of the Law suit. I live in Michigan and believe every 6.0 needs to be recalled and money back, so no one elese has to deal with the problems. Please count me in… Cindy
I have a 2005 Super Duty that just turned 100k.. its now acting up .. My mechanic is saying what everybody else has had to do …head studs, oil cooler EGR…etc…How do i get in on this class action lawsuit as well
my truck has less than 110k miles …. 05 F250 with 6.0 motor
it now has more problems…….. in the shop now..
2006 6.0 superduty. I have had to replace the Hpop and the egr cooler. I have replaced three injectors and just about every sensor on it aswell. Its still running rough and im going to need a few more injectors replaced. I have had many mechanics tell me to take it back to ford because its a pile of junk. I have dumped over $8,000 into it. Not to mention every time the dealer works on it under warrany It costs me a hundred for a copay! Ford is plain junk. I want in on this lawsuit! Please send info!

I have a ’04’ Ford F-350, that I just spent $7900.00 repairing the heads & ERG Cooler. Since I live in Alaska the mechanic suggested disconnecting the ERG to eliminate that problem. As long as I don’t move to California it wont be a problem 🙂
Please add me to the law suit.
I have 05 F-250 with 6.0. Piece of garbage. High pressure oil pump replaced twice, first time at 20000 miles. Egr & oil cooler replaced. Busted brake caliper. Replaced cam shaft position sensor, new fuel pump, and just got it out of shop for new injectors. Plus other problems. All in all around $10,000 in repairs. Shouldn’t have to pay that for a $40,000 vehicle with 160,000 miles on it.
Please tell me how to get in on suit. Thanks
my is the same injectors egr 5000.00
sign me up this is bull they know it bad and arnt doing anything.
its not right! please tell me how?
I have a 6.0 I have owned for 4 years and have invested about 20,000 dollars to keep it running . Is back in the shop right now AGAIN!!!!!!! SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO JOIN THIS LAWSUIT . My whole family has owned fords for 40 years . I will never buy another Ford again.
In the past engines would run until they wore out but would keep running. They needed only things you would expect to replace like belts, water pumps fuel pumps and many inexpensive things on the outside of the engine. You could always rely on them to start and go with out fear of leaving you stranded. I own a 2006 f 350 6.0 king ranch. Bought it second hand at 98000 miles. It ran fine for two years up to 126,000. Then it began to run bad when cold. $3600 to change fuel pump and regulator, 3 injectors and the FICM. As a fairly intelligent guy and mechanically able, how the hell was I supposed to know that weak fuel pressure will ruin the injectors. Ford should have available information to inform us that you must check your fuel pump pressure periodically to protect you from expensive injector replacement. And how long is this new FICM going to last?
2 weeks later the engine is smoking white so bad I was making the streets behind me disappear. $2400 egr cooler busted and oil cooler to be changed also. Additionally from my own research I bought a $350 Bulletproof egr delete to end this problem. To protect the new oil cooler I flushed the coolant and put in Extended life Antifreeze that is Silicate free. You see the silicates in regular freeze gell up from heat probably inside the hot as hell egr cooler and the gell clogs the oil cooler and from their the egr cooler is starved of coolant and steams up and cracks mixing coolant and exhaust which goes were, it goes down the intake into you cylinders. With enough water in your cylinders the combustion pressure increases and then you blow head gaskets and warp heads. Stupid design! My head gaskets are ok for now. So I also spent $500 on a water bypass filter and a oil bypass filter. The water filter will further keep coolant clean in order not to clog up the fine passages in the brand new oil cooler. The oil cooler would feed the egr cooler but I deleted it so that is no concern. The oil bypass filter filters down to 2 microns compared to the 25 micron engine filter. This is to protect the sensitive oil portion of the injectors, the high pressure pump and other components of the 6.0 since oil plays a critical roll in cooling and cushioning. Also research suggest the the oil bypass valve in the engine oil canister may become stuck allowing unfiltered oil to go back into the engine. Also the filter drain valve becomes brittle and cracks(they are both made out of plastic) and could allow unfiltered oil straight down into the engine. Stupid design. Now I need another $400 for edge insight gauges to watch the dam oil cooler and make sure the oil temp and coolant temp don’t get to far apart. This would indicate it clogging up again and that would mean hot oil and severe engine damage. The gauges will also show the FICM voltage which should stay around 48 volts. I also added a fuel pressure gauge for $70 to protect injectors.
So again I am doing the best I can from my own research to hold this engine together. Ford has told me nothing. I talk to the mechanics, they know none of this! That blew my mind. They were going to put in another egr cooler and the same old antifreeze. That’s what they are doing to all the 6.0 coming in. Its crazy. Its all going to happen again. And I am in a position were I am not sure of what’s to come next with my truck. That’s not the way our trucks of the past treated us. Why should I have to pay for this mistake in design when I paid full market value for this truck in good faith and full confidence in the quality of Ford products. Please include me in this class action suit
2005 F350 with the 6.0 diesel. 68,000 miles and I’m now having trouble starting after the engine is warmed up. Dealership says it is probably same problem everyone else is having with losing pressure in the High Pressure Oil system either around seals at injectors or STC
I would like to be part of this Class Action Lawsuit
I’m have experienced the same problems. EGR, oil cooler, hard cold starts (no start at all). This engine hasn’t performed properly since about 50,000 miles. The dealership has re-flashed the truck 2 or 3 times with terrible results. The reflash helped with cold starts but left it running terribly up until it reaches normal operating temp. The truck (not the engine) is in excellent condition with just over 100,000 miles and bluebooks for less than $13,000.
I read that this lawsuit is for all California residents. I live in Colorado and would like any information that is available on this class action suit. Hopefully we can get something going out here. We have been extremely wronged in this regard.
Tim
Tim, Hard starts? Me too and the problem has been high pressure oil seals under the valve covers. Had mine replaced twice so far at 350.00 a pop and it only temporarily fixes the problem till they wear out again. Good luck. Dennis
I replaced the oil & egr cooler at 72000 on my 2005 f-250 6.0. Cost was $2400.00. I have no faith in the truck. Sign me up….
