Ford Motor & Navistar Class Action Lawsuit Complaint Filed Over 6L Power Stroke Diesel Engine

Owners & Lessees Of Ford Vehicles With Ford Power Stroke Diesel Engine File Class Action Lawsuit Complaint Against Ford & Navistar Over Allegedly Defective Diesel Engines.

A class action lawsuit has been filed against Ford Motor Company (“Ford Motor” or “Ford”) and Navistar, Inc. (“Navistar”) f/k/a International Truck and Engine Corporation (collectively “Defendants”) in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California (styled Brandon Burns v. Navistar, Inc. and Ford Motor Company, Civil Action Case No. 3:10-cv-02295-LAB -BGS) alleging, among other things, that Defendants manufactured, marketed and/or sold Ford’s Super Duty trucks and Ford Excursion vehicles for model years 2003-2007 that contained Ford & Navistar manufactured 6L Power Stroke Diesel Engines that allegedly suffer from manufacturing and design defects that render the engines and vehicles unmerchantable and unsuitable, according to the Ford & Navistar 6L Power Stroke Diesel Engine class action lawsuit complaint.

The Ford & Navistar 6L Power Stroke Diesel Engine class action lawsuit complaint is reportedly brought on behalf of a putative class of all owners and lessees within California of Ford vehicles equipped with Navistar’s 6.0 L diesel engine, commonly referred to as the Power Stroke V8 Turbo diesel engine, unless otherwise excluded.

Just an addition to my previous post. I was involved in a class action suit which involved Chevrolet. The window sticker said the pickup that I had leased had a drivers side airbag when in fact it didn’t. A couple from California sued Chevrolet and won and then brought about a class action suit. Chevrolet wound up paying everybody back for their vehicles less ten cents a mile for useage. I got back about $20,000.00. Nothing wrong with the pickup just a error on the window sticker. Ford should do the same because they knew about the problems and ignored them and the customers. We need to know how to get involved with a class action complaint and get this resolved as quickly as possible.

Just replaced the turbo for the second time (for a super duty price) in my 2204 F250 Super Duty 6.0 L diesel. I own a travel trailer and boat and expected a reliable product to tow them. Now Im worried for the next phase of failures and expenses to occur. Only 60K miles on this gem!!! A Class Action suit is needed. Enough already of praises and promises on new Ford trucks by dealers!!!

I have had several issues with the EGR valve ruining my injectors on my 2004 F-350 that was built in 8/03. I have bben a Ford truck man forever but if they don’t help me out, I t looks like Ford will lose me. The truck now has 100,000 on it and I’m scared the next 100,000 will be a nightmare. Please advise as how to join a class action lawsuit against Ford. skarel21421@yahoo.com

My 2003 Ford F250 6.0L diesel has blown two turbochargers. The first turbocharger was repaired under warranty in St. George, Utah. The dealer in St. George replaced the turbocharger in three days. The second turbocharger blew on my way to work last year. My truck only has 50,000 miles on it. Blown gaskets, engine simply wouldn’t run in Oregon, while on vacation, etc. This truck has literally been in the shop as much as it has been on the road. Note to the wise, don’t purchase Ford diesel pick ups!

  • Pat Mayo April 26, 2011, 10:12 pm

Oh one other thing. My step-brother worked for a major Ford vender in 2003. My father factory ordered an F350 6.0L. When the truck didn’t show as scheduled, he phoned my step-brother. While building the 2004 model, Ford shut the assembly line down and made over 40 changes to the 6.0L from 2003 to the 2004 model. Ford knew they had major problems with the Navistar 6.0L diesel within the first year of production.

I own a 2005 F 250 6.0 This truck is the worst vehicle I have ever owned. It broke down while on vacation and we got stranded in St. Goerge Utah for 5 days while the truck was repaired. The problem was the high pressure oil pump. It has had several injectors replaces. The main computer went out. and there has been two EGR coolers replaced. Now there is a check engine light that comes on and the engine looses power. We shut the truck off and the light goes out. No help from FORD. We do not trust this truck and will not take it on long trips. We want to join the lawsiut

I have two 6.0, one is in an E450 and the other in a F-350. My comment on these vehicles is BREAKDOWN, BREAKDOWN, BREAKDOWN. Tom Petty wrote a song about these engines and it is BREAKDOWN. I would like to know how to sign up for the class action on these engines built Ford Tough, I mean when you go to Ford dealerships after the service writer gets done laughing and shaking his head, he looks you in the eye and says Ford (6.0)……Tough.

  • fujipear April 27, 2011, 6:13 pm

My name is Kevin I live in corona ca, I have a 2004 f350 crew cab with the 6.o leak-er…. lol Before this truck I had a 2000 f250 with the v12 I pull a 35foot 5th wheel so I don’t need to tell you why I sold the v12 to get a real ford truck that would pull the trailer…. So being a Ford man I decided to get the so called all the problems worked out, 2004 6.0 liter. So I pulled the trailer a few times with no problems. I get to about 32,000 miles then it all started. First it was a hint of antifreeze smell when I would back up, then a little white smoke, then it started to leak water on the ground, then a lot of white smoke. It was so much smoke at one point I couldn’t see my house in the rear view mirror it would do it for a little while then would stop. I decided to take it to the Dealer they said it was a hose that connecting the manifold to the EGR they replaced it and sent me on my way. A little while later the EGR went out. I said to my self that it’s a FORD it will be fine, (I was in denial). I was so wrong, about 3 weeks later with no problems in site I was pulling my trailer when the clutch fan came on while pulling my trailer home from Glamis Ca.
I looked down at the gauges to see it getting hot. I pulled over to let cool it off and refilled it with water it had lost a lot of water. I limped home, some 100 miles away. I took it to the dealer the following Monday. The dealer called me the next day to tell me that the head gaskets needed to be replaced. I got lucky they covered the cost of the repair, still under warranty. they replaced one head and the gaskets. That all happened in 2009 at 32,000 miles. I could only wonder what was next. I didn’t pull the trailer any long distances out of fear that it would do the same thing again and leave me stranded. A few weeks ago we took a family vacation to a local camp site. I pulled the trailer a total of maybe 30 miles. Now the truck is at 63,331 miles, I smell antifreeze, I see a little smoke, gee what comes next?……… With no warranty after 12,000 or 1 year I called my local dealer with no help other than giving me the Ford company corporate line (800-392-3673) and guess what? They said that they can do nothing for me! After reading a little info on line (while on hold with ford) I see that’s a pretty common response about this problem. I told her (she was very nice) that it was sad that after being a third generation Ford guy, I might have to buy another make of truck. I also told her of the class action lawsuits. I asked her if she was aware of them, she was not. I told her that I had no choice to join in on the class action law suit against the Ford Motor Company, and she should inform them of my call and comments. I heard that Ford won a law suit against International motor company. Does anyone know if it is true? If so please let me know, thanks. If that is the truth they need to own up to the problem and fix it!!!!!

  • fujipear April 27, 2011, 6:20 pm

I need any contact information on any of the class action lawsuits for the issue with the 2004 ford f350 or the 6.0 liter diesel engine. If any on has it please send it to me or post it.

  • Jack Marcus April 28, 2011, 3:35 pm

Had a 2006 Ford 350 Dully. We all know how bad it was so no reason to repeat the above stories here.
What ticks me off is the fact that the dealer knew when he sold me the truck that it was a piece of crap. I had bought about 5 other Ford trucks from the same dealer over the years but this was my first diesel.
One day I had enough and drove the truck to the same dealer who is also a Dodge dealer and told him to keep the damn truck and drove off with a 2007 Dodge with a 6.7l diesel motor.
I still owed a lot on the Ford but just had to bundle it to my loan on the Dodge. The Dodge has 360,000 miles on it and is now getting its first major repair (bad injector)
I cannot see me ever buying a Ford again—they just didnt care.
I live in S.W. Michigan and would like to see about joining a class action lawsuit.

  • Mike Manry May 2, 2011, 7:51 pm

I bought a 2003 F-250 new in SoCal before retiring to Colorado. At 16,300 miles it broke a crankshaft and the dealer said “you’re really screwed now” Over $15,000 later I got it back and then unloaded it. There has to be some revenge against Ford here somewhere!

  • Darne Wrecker Service, Inc. May 3, 2011, 2:32 pm

We bought a 2008 F450 wrecker truck with a 6.4l in NC on May 2009, since our purchase we have had to replace 3 busted radiators (which had recalls) the last one ford refused to help in repairs, 1 penion seal, 1 temperature sensor gauge and now we have had to replace the rockers which a week after replacement, the motor blew. Ford has refused to even speak with us, says to many miles on truck. I thought a diesel was to last longer than 100k? We are seeking to join or start a class action in NC. Any advice on who to contact??

  • Pat Fitzgerald May 6, 2011, 12:30 pm

Bought a used 2004, F350, diesel, thinking I wanted a truck that would last. Did not know about the EGR issues. This year spent $6900 on EGR cooler, oil cooler, cracked head gasket, valve guides, etc, out of pocket. Only have 104000 miles, and don’t drive it but once every 3-4 months, no heavy towing. What I want to know is how do the rest of us that live in other states make this a national class action lawsuit? I live in Texas, surely there is something we can do.

Same goes for me FORD doesnt want to know a god damn thing.I’ve had fords all my life and I think this is BULLSHIT!!!. • Gary Vanlier May 9, 2011, 6:01 pm

I have an 05 6.0 diesel and we were just stranded for 8 days in Salt Lake City, with a EGR Cooler failure that pumped coolant into the turbo and then into the engine, White/gray smoke coming out the tailpipe! Had it towed to smith Ford and they were great to work with but my bill started with $2700 then went to $6,100 due to the injectors all failing, thats when we said we can’t afford the repair bill ( truck is out of warranty with slightly over 51/2 years old but only 86,00 miles) the sevice techs sent an email to ford assistance and in less than 24 hours they received a letter granting us $3,000 dollars in parts. Needless to say, when we got the truck back on saturday the 7th we started home hauling our fifth wheel and 26 miles into the trip, the wrench light came on and we limped up hills with no power,so I dropped it at the local dealer this a.m. and they called back saying the coolant has caused theTurbo to stick or cause overboost and they want $1895.00 to repair!! So I called ford assistance to try to get them to own up to this also! I have been a Ford guy all my life and even though they helped when we needed it most, I feel they could have notified us to be on the lookout for problems associated with this engine. I don’t think I can rely on this vehicle to tow anything for fear of getting stuck away from home with another huge bill!

I have a 2004 F250 that I just got out of the shop on may 5 2011. I had to have the turbo, inter cooler & throttle body replaced due to the turbo exploding while pulling a steep grade on I-77 in Virginia. I have a 5th wheel camper that we bought the truck to pull and expected many years of service out of this truck. I expected this to be the last truck I would have to buy as I was looking for over 200,000 miles of service before major repairs. I have been a loyal Ford customer since my first new vehicle in 1964, and many their after. I contacted Ford Motor Co. about my failure and the just said tough luck. These repairs cost me $3400.00 and I felt since Ford new of the problems and did not recall and fix them, they should be responsible for these repairs. My truck only had 69,000 on it and these issues should not have happened to a well maintained vehicle.

I too had the same experience, the Ford dealer pulled my engine and resealed it, I have 5,000 miles on it now and leaking worse than before. Turbo issues, blown radiator, replaced injectors before I even hit 100,000 miles, replaced the FICM twice. This truck is nothing but a headache. Ha lets not even count how many alternators I went through.
The funny think is this truck gets babied all the time cause I am scared to ever use it like a truck!

I have a 2006 F-550 Lariet crew cab i bought brand new, 50,000 dollars , I am self employed and this vehicle is my primary source of income and its the worst piece of junk I have ever bought. I broke down about eight times while still under warrenty, 5 egr coolers 1 turbo, high pressure oil pump, air conditioner, and this was when it was still under warrenty. To day is May 12 2011 and it is in the shop as i am writing this, it has broke down 5 times in the last 3 months costing me 40,000 in lost revenue plus 8000 to fix, it has ruined my credit.

Piscitelli Law Firm of Cleveland, Ohio has initiated a class action law suit
which is nation wide. They can be reached at 1-800-931-7071. I have sent them copies of my purchase agreement and copies of all the repair receipts whether the repairs were done at the dealer or through a private shop. They have contacted the shop that has been doing my repairs to get more information. Everybody needs to get on board because the more that participate the better. I live in Idaho and there is nobody that I know here that has started a law suit. Call them and lets get thing going.

I have a 2005 350 Ford Diesel Powerstroke truck that has about 40,000 miles on it. Recently the turbo has started kicking off and then comes on when it wants to. The mechanic says it will cost over $6,000.00 to fix and if we don’t fix it could end up costing $13,000.00 to fix. This is rediculous. We purchased the truck to pull our horse trailer to a few horse shows per summer. Now that is scarry knowing the truck could break down in an area where there is little or no services. We are so dissapointed and mad at Ford and especially knowing they covered up these problems that they knew about.

  • Wayne Justus May 17, 2011, 7:23 pm

I have a 2005 F350 Ford 6.0 that has just over 50,000 miles. Of course the 5 year warranty is expired and the turbo only works when it wants to. The mechanic said it would cost over $6,000.00 to fix and over $13,000.00 if it locks up when the turbo is engaged. This is rediculous. The truck is barely broke in and already having major problems. Looking for a class action against Ford to join in with.

  • Rob Rogers May 18, 2011, 7:55 pm

As bad as it sounds, I’m glad I’m not alone on this. I have a 2004 F250 diesel with 74,000 miles on it and I’ve had nothing but problems since I’ve owned it. Probably like the rest of you, I always took it to a dealer for work because it was under warranty. But now that its not I’m going to a diesel guy and I’m finding out the real problems. All the dealer would do is change the oil and say they didn’t experience the same problem on a road test that I complained about. Now I have the check engine light coming on all the time and the turbo is having problems. I have had turbo problems since I’ve owed it, the dealer sayed “there’s nothing wrong”. I to would like to know how to join this lawsuit. As much as we pay for these trucks, Ford should back up their product. I have also had my EGR valve and oil cooler replaced, luckily for me I used a diesel guy who replaced the EGR and oil cooler with a after market part thats warranteed for life. Please e-mail me with info about this lawsuit.

  • Chris C May 18, 2011, 11:30 pm

2004 Excursion 6.0 just over 100K miles. I have had many of the above problems. I am in the process of having to replace the EGR valve, EGR Tank, Turbo, Intercooler, and probably the head gaskets. I want in on the class action suit….

    Defineatly Call Picitelli Law Firm!!
    1 (800) 931-7071

I just spoke with Candice over there and there are NO residency restrictions for this class action case. Please sign up, as for it will only give us consumers and the firm more ammunition to fire at Ford for their POS 6.0l diesel that they have already settled a lawsuit with International (Navistar). They got paid why shouldnt they have to pass that on! This case is still in the beginning phases you can still get in! Please feel free to email me if you need assistance @ matthungerford1@gmail.com

  • Cathy Mattison May 20, 2011, 3:43 pm

We have a 2005 F350 with blown head gaskets. We found out it would cost $5,000 dollars to fix it at the dealer. Is this a scam by Ford? This truck has been carefully maintained and not abused. We have now lost income and jobs because of this problem, since the truck was used for work. We are not people who would jump to sue frivolously, but we feel cheated (a nice way to explain how we feel). I see lots of other people who feel cheated by Ford at this site. How do we rectify this problem? Isn’t there a way to get representation and file a lawsuit?

  • Holly Winslow May 21, 2011, 8:50 pm

Well same problems with the 6.0L up in canada just got denied warenty on a blowen motor payed the money for the extended service plan and no warenty a injector tip broke off and took out a pistion and cly wall metal all through out engine .
ESP says its caused from water in the fuel there was never a code in the computer for water and the dealer pulled a fuel sample and the fuel came back %100 desial.
the truck has been at the dealer for over 150 days
The injector has been out in the atmospher for over 150 days still no rust on injector but yet ford says it was water that caused the failer .
Were there is water there is rust and there’s no rust here
Im in definetly in on the class action

  • Corky Shelton May 27, 2011, 5:10 pm

2003 F350 with many of the same problems. I have taken good care of this truck. I saved my money for a long time and paid cash for the the last truck I would ever have to buy Ha Ha. I took it to a dealer once because of injector problems and he tried to tell me that it was my fault because I put bad fule in it. I almost tore his head off, and came to find out later that the service wrighters were told to use that line for one of the excuses to dismiss pissed off owners.O by the by I justed bolted on my ficm that I just had rebuilt in chino yesterday for 200.00 dollars. and after two months of the truck sitting in the drive way it started, but it still has issues, at least I can go back to work. How about that ford, you going to pay for all the time lost that I couldn’t work.
    Count me in, Corky

  • John Risvold May 30, 2011, 4:29 pm

I am the original owner of a 2004 6.0L PSD. 84k miles and it is parked – undrivable. Because my Oil cooler, EGR cooler are “restricted” and little if any coolant (orig. factory fill) is able to flow thru to cool the oil. Why is is the coolant not flowing to my oil and EGR coolers? what’s clogging them up?? It’s never been open and it’s the factory fill of coolant 6.0L owners guide says change coolant at 105k miles – I’m at 84k miles…WTF????? ….AND….According to the FORD Tech, Turbo is nearly fried, both oil cooler and EGR coolers need replaced, oil cooler is leaking oil, coolant is leaking into cylinders, and cracked Y-Pipes at rear of engine need replaced !!!! BUILT FORD TOUGH !!!!! ….yeah, right. PLEASE INCLUDE ME IN ANY CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!!!

  • william c Robinson May 31, 2011, 1:32 pm

72000, motor had to be pull all covers leaking oil,bad egr value, 3000 dallors plus, 76000 egr cooler & oil cooler bad and we bought the parts still cost 1900 .00 ,had 5 star warrrent would not cover ,and ford told us it would cover every thing .took our money.what next

  • Brandon Conner May 31, 2011, 1:42 pm

    From Colorado;
Count me in! Just shy of 80,000 miles I had to replace the EGR and had a new turbo installed. I spent over $3500 in repairs (including all fluids changed). I attempted to be diligent and had a local dealership pull an Oasis report prior to purchasing, they SAID “no problems, no warranty issues and no open recalls”. After this issue I went to another dealership to ask for a COPY of the Oasis report, it showed they had previously replaced turbo, EGR valve and a bunch of small items under warranty.
I truly hope this Class Action Lawsuit goes national!

In 1004 I Purchased a new 2004 F250 deisel and paid $36,000 for it. In 2008 the head gasket blew, it had 82,000 miles. I traded it in for a new 2007 F350 6.0L and this time I paid $52,000. At 40k miles the head gasket blew, my truck now has 101,000 miles on it and its at FORD with a blown Transmission. Ford wants me to pay $5,000 to fix it. This crap needs to stop now! ’04 F-350 owner. Only 57,000 miles, and replaced EGR: $220, still blowing white smoke like a mosquito fogger. Now I need $2,250 more work done so says the dealership?! This needs to be fixed by Ford. Never heard of a Ford Diesel being trash…until the 6.0L.

  • Danny G June 3, 2011, 1:50 pm

We have spent over $10000 in the last 5 months trying to get this engine fixed and that is not including the number of times it was at the Ford dealership while under warranty. This does not include the $ lost due to loss of farm production/time. Would love to join a class action law suit?

I live in PA. I own an 04 F350 with 77,000 miles. Overheating problems just starting and Ford refused warranty work stating warranty has expired. Need additional Class Action info. I want to file suit. Does each state need to file a separate complaint?
    Dan Froble

  • mark harlan June 13, 2011, 8:27 am

These problems are familiar to me, when overheating starts on the 6.0Liter diesel enginge, it starts with the EGR valve which causes the engine to over heat, which stretches the poorly manufactured head bolts causing heads to seperate and blow out the head gasget. This problem is continuous and all Ford 6.0 Liter enginge have this problem. You might want to check out this attorney in San Diego California, there is a lawsuite against ford and their 6.0 Liter engine.

  • Kimberly Gilbert June 14, 2011, 9:40 pm

We own a 2004 Excursion at 47000 miles it blew its head gaskets, oil cooler, and egr valve, luckily we purchased an extended warranty which covered this work. Then this past November it started blowing white smoke at 2 in the afternoon and starting it back up at 5 it ran so rough I had to shut it down and have it towed to our well know diesel mechanic after many tests and having it towed again to the Ford Dealer we were told that at 97000 miles that it blew the EGR cooler and all injectors were bad. This was hard to believe with owning a 7.3 with over 200000 miles we know how important it is to stay on top of oil changes, fuel system changes, and careful on where we filled it up with fuel and to get told all of this went out and there is no reason why was also very frustrating. Being a loyal Ford owner and then be told by the corporate office they wont help at all made us very angry especially after going home to research this engine and saw how many problems the 6.0 had and on top of it Ford won their lawsuit against Navistar but didnt pass anything down to thier customers is disgraceful, if we can get some information on how to get help or be a part of this lawsuit we would greatly appreciate it.

I have a 2004 with the 6.0 Powerstroke. It has 73000 well maintained miles on it. Ford dealer just told me that it needs $6000 dollars worth of work and since it is older than 5 years old it is out of the warranty period even though the warranty is supposed to be good for 100,000 miles. I have 4 Ford Motor Company vehicles in my garage. I have been a huge proponent of Ford, but Ford has not stood behind their product. I am amazed that they will not do the right thing.

  • Robert April June 16, 2011, 10:56 am

I own a 2003 F-250 and am starting to see all these problems too. Not sufficiently cooling the engine, pushing coolant out the exhaust, turbo going out, low power, head gaskets leaking externally, I definately want in on this.

  • Jim Ditzler June 16, 2011, 4:00 pm

Count me in also. I have a 2005 F350. The truck now has 90k but it all started at around 54k, white smoke, no power, egr valve and cooler 2 times, head gasgets , injectors , turbo , now getting 61/2 mpg towing when new i got 12-14 towing, much more. Let me know if you need more info.

  • David Ruggieri June 16, 2011, 11:09 pm

I have owned a 2004 F550 Super Duty Ford since new. The truck only has 45’000 miles to date. At 42,000 miles the truck suddenly wouldn’t start. I sent it in to be checked and the injector module had to be replaced ($1200.00). 3 days later I was getting pressure in the coolant system. Went back in for repair and they said it had a blown head gasket. While they had the heads off they found it had a bad injector and a melted piston. What?
At 42,000 miles? Thats discusting. I’ve owned Mack trucks for over 30 years and have put over 800,000 miles on them without having this kind of problems. By the time all the repairs were done my bill was almost $6,000.00. My trucks are well maintianed and well cared for. This truck still looks new today. I called the Ford motor company to complain and they could care less. I feel they should have paid for the repairs because this should have never happened. I have bought ford vehicles since 1985. I thought they would stand behind their products, but I thought wrong.

  • Bill Guman June 18, 2011, 11:33 am

My ’03 F-550 6.0L Powerstroke has incurred over $20K in warranty repair work on the 6.0L alone since new – 16 separate visits for warranty work since purchasing it new. It now sits at the dealer awaiting another $6600 in repairs (“defective oil cooler & fuel relay”). All this, and I have only 49,000 miles logged!! Ford now says they are no longer responsible for repairs since my vehicle is “too old.” My contention is they NEVER fixed the 6.0L in the first place, and FoMoCo knows this motor can NEVER be fixed! This POS vehicle has stranded my wife and me in the most remote places. To add insult to injury, the dealer says they will only give me $8,400 for this otherwise like-new truck! This was a $55,000 purchase. We’ve had it. It is unconscionable to us that Ford would wash their hands clean of their problem full well knowing that they sold us a defective product in the first place. [Bill Guman, Colo. Spgs., CO 719-650-6754]

  • Brady June 18, 2011, 11:45 am

I bought my 06 with 28000 miles,(now 50000 mi) in 2009 from my layed off brother in law. The vehicle shop where I work told me it was a junk motor and to either sell it asap or buy the extended warrenty. I bought the warrenty thank god. It has been in the shop 4 times in 2 years. Head gaskets, high pressure oil pump, rear end and now bed plate oil seal(this requires pulling the motor, which requires pulling the cab off of the truck). With out the warrenty I would be screwed. Its a shame, everything about this truck is good except the engine.

  • Vincent Doa June 18, 2011, 5:51 pm

    I unfortunately own a 06 F-250 SD 4×4 supercrew shortbed bed
PSD. Iodate I have put over $20,000.00 in repairs into this inflated hunk of junk. Not only have I replaced the EGR cooler, Oil cooler, o rings for the oil delivery lines to the injectors, the high pressure oil pump, the FICM, the oil T, now injectors going bad but also both outer fender 1/4 panels on the box. It seems as though an engineer at ford thought that it would be a brilliant idea to place open cell Styrofoam between the wheel well liner and 1/4 panel for sound deadening butinstead trapped water to rust out the fenders over the rear wheels, sound familiar.

Count us in., Bought a brand new 03 Ford 250 with the 6.0 . Have had nothing but trouble, It has been in the shop more than 6 times. New turbos, new heads, new EGR vaulves, rebuilt transmission 3 times, nothing covered under the warranty (like it supposed). We have lost money because of the pickup being in the shop, not to mention being with out the unit , hurt. We believe that Ford should stand behind these here lemons, replace them with the current or better working units. Currently it is back in the shop again. They offer nothing for trade so kind of stuck with it. We bought new, figuring no problems or at least you have the warranty to help if something does go wrong, but this is rediculous… Let us know when it goes, we be there she bells on.

PLEASE INCLUDE My Dad in the law suite…. he purchased a brand new 2005 ford f350 super duty dual rear wheel 6.0 with the torqshifter…. over $20,000 in repairs some under warranty, most under the pocket of my uncle and parents…. just did another 8 injectors… the control module and egr valve.. now i think the wiring harness needs to be replaced… once i get the check engine light out i would want ford to give me at least 35,000 back so i can get a different vehicle. The tranny and engine have given us numerous problems and money is tight this truck is killing us… literally. my Dad makes less than 100 grand a year and we are on long island….he bought this truck with money from the house we are in a bad place.

    • Daniel Vena June 30, 2011, 10:39 pm

i also changed my oil every 5000 miles and used the motorcraft cetane and performance booster the truck never ran horrible until the control module went on it. even after 8 injectors a control module and an egr it still isn’t running rite …. injector 3 circuit low… god damn it i need an injector and wiring harness to be safe…. i have a friend who is a ford mechanic and quit because of how they treated him… Newins ford made me lay out over 300 dollars for high pressure oil tubes just so i could get the updated o-ring for the tubes and the metal tube they sold me was not applicable…. too long… they really need to rethink their strategy on fixing customer problems…

  • Teresa Stamback July 2, 2011, 12:47 pm

My husband and I own a F-350 superduty XL 2005 with the 6.0 diesel powerstroke engine. We were heading out for a vacation pulling our horse trailer with 2 horses on board. Rolling along I-81 we began seeing large amounts of smoke coming from the back end of the truck. We were barely able to pull off the side of the road while other motorist blaring their horns as they were not able to see due to the smoke. It is a miracle that our horses and ourselves are alive to tell this story. I guess we now go down along with the many other Ford 6.0 owners as being shafted. We purchased this truck in 2007 with 70,000 miles on it and were told oh its a diesel it just gets broke in at 100,000. The truck currently has 117,000, so you can see we haven’t put that many miles. I have always owned Ford products, my last Ford was a 1989 F250 that had a cummins diesel was the best darn vehicle I ever owned, put over 300,000 miles on it. So I am really upset that Ford is not coming forward to help folks out with this poorly desinged engine. I will do whatever I can to get involved in this lawsuit, in todays economy people cannot afford such expenses. I personally am between jobs and my husband has had 4 heart attacks and is waiting on a disibility claim. No way we can afford $5000.00 repairs.

  • steve July 4, 2011, 3:49 pm

I have an 2003 ford f-250 with the POS 6.0 in it. I have had to replace the motor in it due to faulty injectors burning to lean and burnt holes iin top of pistons the new motor that was put in has no power at all. Ttakes for ever for the turbo to wind up to shift gears so yea sing me uup to and yes most of the 6.0 trucks you can’t get ride of on kind of tthe motor in them ….. Pissed in OKLAHOMA

  • Robyn Davis July 7, 2011, 12:38 am

Oh my hell! We feel your pain, BIG TIME!!! My husband and I bought one of these nightmare trucks for approximatelly 17,000 thousand dollars with 158,000 miles on it, thinking stupidly that, gee, all diesel engines last well over 200,000 miles or more. 10,000 miles later and 13,000 dollars more in debt, our truck is sitting in Utah Diesel for the third time in one week with the mechanics going “wah happened!!” We called the Ford Motor Company Customer Service and got “We understand your frustration . . . . BUT . . . we can’t do anything to help you. Thanks for calling!” They can kiss my bumper!! Ford Tough? What a freakin joke!!! Dispicable, unethical, skumbags!! They have soured my husband and myself on anything American made. What a sad representation of the American Way!!! Please, please add us to any and all class action suits that are available to participate in!!!

  • Brandt Hayden July 7, 2011, 9:57 am

I own two of these boat anchors. Both 2004 6L Power Stroke engines that we use for our construction company. Primarily all highway miles, one at 88,000 miles and the other at 160,00 miles. I purchased one of them used at Skyline Ford in Salem, Oregon with 82,000 miles on it. That was a year ago and I have only put 6,000 miles on it due to it breaking down so often. Both of them have blown the EGR and Turbo. They are only good for about ten thousand miles before we have to spend six grand in repairs to get them running again.
I am currently in the process of purchasing another four trucks for my company, and go figure, no dealer will take either of these in on trade. In fact, the Ford dealers act as if there is no problem. They are arrogant and smug in the face of their own failures. So, both my companies will be buying GM vehicles from now on.
Count me in on your lawsuit.

  • Rafael Garcia Jr. July 7, 2011, 6:15 pm

Please count me in, I have an 06 with only 80,000 miles but is past the 5 years. Having issues.

  • Natalie McKay July 8, 2011, 12:40 am

We bought our 2006 F-250 Powerstroke Diesel a couple years ago. The truck has less than 75,000 miles on it and has had over $11,000 in repairs. The EGR, engine, sensors… you name it, it’s happened. The mechanics told us that we’ve fixed about everything that goes wrong with these trucks. We contacted Ford and they refuse to stand behind their product since it was 2 months outside the warranty. The Ford family really let our family down.

  • Steven Bethea July 8, 2011, 9:44 am

I purchased a 2003 F350 6.0L diesel and I would liek to be a part of the class action lawsuit. Ford Motor Company have been very unresponsive and of little help.

  • Brian Strader July 11, 2011, 8:42 pm

Very similar problems on my 2006 f350 crew cab lariat 6.0 power stroke 59,000 miles purchased ESP warranty in 2009 for $1,995.00 . Claimed to be fords top of the line warranty. Covers the truck through 12/09/2012 or 100,000 miles. At 59000 miles truck wont start EGR valve out , 2 injectors bad, high pressure oil leak at etc fitting both stand pipes out and multiple fittings sealants kits etc..I’am charged $945.00 labor. Total charge to me of $1464.82. With a product FORD claims to be their best, however; they fail to mention it doesn’t cover the issues they know will happen to your extremely pricey vehicle that they also claim to be the top of the industry. Any direction you can offer to me would be greatly appreciated. Please add me to any class action. Very disappointed with FORD MOTOR majority of the work force at the dealer knew exactly what the problem was. But all failed to stand behind it or address the issues, sounds very familiar to many of these stories I have just read.

My story is no different from all the previous stories! I bought a 2004 Ford F350 diesal dually 4×4 long bed King Ranch with only 66,000 miles on it when we bought it in 2007. It is beautiful to look at but forget about driving it! It has broken down on us four years in a row when we were on vacation pulling our 5th wheel! the first time was when we had owned it for 5 days. It has caused us nothing but grief and agony since we bought it. We cannot sell it because everyone is now aware it is a n expensive piece of junk! It is in the shop right now as I write this letter. It broke down with us on our way home from vacation in Utah and left us stranded in the middle of nowhere pulling our 5th wheel with 2 cats inside and we had our 2 grandkids with us and tow truck could not accommadate all of us so my husband was left behind at a casino with no way home. He had to hitchhike ! I could write a book on all the horror stories this pile of Ford junk has caused us not to mention how much money we have to keep sinking into it, even though we have an extended service warranty on it. They never cover any of it. I think Ford and Navistar owe every owner of one of these trucks with the 6.0 liter engine a whole new engine and compensation for all our pain and suffering and incurred expenses due to all the break downs!

I had a 2003 ford f250 and spent about 6000.00 on diesel motor.
I sold it and got a 2006 because they said was better but am having problems with turbo now . Took it to ford under warranty and they said ford makes them clean before replacing so now out of warranty and turbo is bad. Not happy.

Called Piscitelli Law Frim and got on the list for the Class Action Suit. Have a 2005 F250 6.0l with 72,000 miles, had a problem with oil leak in the begining, ran great until last weekend on the 4th of July. Starnded friends and family, had to have it towed back home and then hit with the news. As high pressue leak some where internal. Estimate to fix is between $1000.00 & $6000.00 and that’s if they can find the problem. Now I have a $40000 Ford anchor for my boat. NICE!
