Ford Motor & Navistar Class Action Lawsuit Complaint Filed Over 6L Power Stroke Diesel Engine

Owners & Lessees Of Ford Vehicles With Ford Power Stroke Diesel Engine File Class Action Lawsuit Complaint Against Ford & Navistar Over Allegedly Defective Diesel Engines.

A class action lawsuit has been filed against Ford Motor Company (“Ford Motor” or “Ford”) and Navistar, Inc. (“Navistar”) f/k/a International Truck and Engine Corporation (collectively “Defendants”) in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California (styled Brandon Burns v. Navistar, Inc. and Ford Motor Company, Civil Action Case No. 3:10-cv-02295-LAB -BGS) alleging, among other things, that Defendants manufactured, marketed and/or sold Ford’s Super Duty trucks and Ford Excursion vehicles for model years 2003-2007 that contained Ford & Navistar manufactured 6L Power Stroke Diesel Engines that allegedly suffer from manufacturing and design defects that render the engines and vehicles unmerchantable and unsuitable, according to the Ford & Navistar 6L Power Stroke Diesel Engine class action lawsuit complaint.

The Ford & Navistar 6L Power Stroke Diesel Engine class action lawsuit complaint is reportedly brought on behalf of a putative class of all owners and lessees within California of Ford vehicles equipped with Navistar’s 6.0 L diesel engine, commonly referred to as the Power Stroke V8 Turbo diesel engine, unless otherwise excluded.

I am having the same problem with my 2006 F350 Super Duty Deisel 6.0. My truck is in the shop now and I’m looking at thousands of dollars to repair. How do I become a plaintiff in this class action?

    • Juan Colunga November 18, 2010, 10:47 pm

I own a 2005 Ford F-350 with of course a 6.0.Ive had to put in 9000.00 dollars.Have all receipts, even when the dealer did not want to warranty the second time for same thing . I would like to join your lawsuit as a plaintiff thank you . Juan Colunga

to start a class action lawsuit please do a online petition. Thanks for you support http://www.petitiononline.com/SUEFORD/petition.html

In 1004 I Purchased a new 2004 F250 deisel and paid $36,000 or it. In 2008 the head gasket blew, it had 82000. I then traded it in for a new 2007 F350 6.0L and this time I paid $52,000. At 40k miles the head gasket blew on it, my truck now has 101,000 miles and its at FORD with a blown Transmission and Ford wants me top pay $5,000 it fix it. This crap need to stop now!

I want to join this law suit also. I have a 2004, F250, ford with the famous 6.0 leader engine in it. I have had trouble with it from the get go, and it all has been in the engine. I purchased the extended warranty and it ran out at 70,000 mi. Guess what at 75,000 miles the engine blew and now ford wants $16,725. for a new engine that blue books for $19,400. I am retired and can’t afford a new truck so I have to use most of my savings to fix the truck.

    • Janet M McLaughlin August 27, 2011, 6:31 am

I too own a 2006 F-250 SD and have been having alot of the same problems everyone else has. New turbo shortly after I bought truck ( warrenty covered it ), fuel pump. Electronic fuel module failed at about 57,000 miles and was just 2 weeks out of warrenty, Ford would not cover it what it came down to was I did not have Ford dealer do my oil changes which was concered lack of loality to FORD. Give me a break paying $ 38,000 for this truck not enough customer loality. My check engine light has been on since shortly after buying truck. Just recently EGR value malfution along with leaking EGR cooler. My truck only has 87,000 miles on it. What next is going to happen to my truck. What really SUCKS is truck not even payed off yet. The repairs I have had to pay for as of date add up tp about $3000.00. I am so upset about all this not sure I will ever buy another FORD product again. Now I see there is a recall on the maltifution turn signal switch, which buy the way does not work correctly on my truck ( no right hand turn signal ). I could go on and on but I will make it short. I too feel FORD should be held accountable for selling this 6.0 defect engine in their vechiles. What is really bad is I have spoken to few people that work for Ford Motor Company and they to say the 6.0 Powerstroke engine is JUCK.
Take them to court!!!!! Signed upset Ford Owner

I have a 2004 Ford F-350 with the first generation 6.0L diesel motor. Bought it used from a Ford dealer in Fallon, Nevada — who mis-represented the year motor it had. Found it had the 2003 6.0L motor. At just over the 5 yr mark with only about 90k miles, the head gaskets blew ($3,500). Six months later, the EGR cooler blew ($2,500). Now the fuel system, powered by the oil pressure blew (looking @ $3,200). This is with only about 120K miles on the vehicle. The shop tells me the other major item will be the fuel injectors @ $4,500. $13,700 on top of the $33,000 paid…Ford needs to help out!

    • William Harvey November 22, 2010, 8:34 am

Like the other contributors I would like to join a class action can anybody help ? My 6 Litre engine destroyed itself before the vehicle even reached the first 7500 service ! Fords Customer Service is just appalling their response was to ask me to buy a new engine from them at full retail After speaking with lawyers I had independent engineers strip and examine engine As suspected the EGR cooler failed which filled the engine with coolant which then hydro locked the engine Engineers tell me that the oil pan and the rocker covers are just about the only salvagable parts of the engine

  • Bill November 21, 2010, 8:48 pm

Owner of a 2006 Ford diesel. I understand that Navistar is suing Ford for breach of contract, and Ford is suing Navistar for breach of contract. ford has gone so far to build there own engine, that tells you how bad the Navistar engine really is.

  • andrew November 25, 2010, 12:28 am

    Diddos,
I have a 05 f250, at the 5 year mark and 74,000 miles it started messing up and 6 trips to the dealership later, no real change.
I would like to join the suit.

  • Jeff Ryburn December 1, 2010, 8:30 pm

I have a 2006 F-350 that broke down on the highway (50K miles) but I was told the fuel filter collapsed and ruined some of the injectors even though the filter wasn’t contaminated. I am not sure the truth behind this since I never heard of such a thing ever happening. Two other friends of mine with a 2004 and a 2006, both broke down due to lack of oil/engine cooling. The 2004 6.0 was a lose but the 2006 was repairable. Now, I can’t even get a trade on my truck because dealerships know the problematic of the 6.0 -value of my truck, $0! At least I was fortunate enough to purchase a warranty with Ford for another 36K miles for $3000. But I am still scared of going anywhere far from home knowing it’s just a matter of time before I am stranded again. I would like to know more of this lawsuit and I feel that Ford should replace all the 6.0 on the road with better parts. If small businesses have a fix for the 6.0, so should Ford. Their reputation is at stake.

  • Russ December 4, 2010, 2:58 pm

I too own a 2006 F-350, truck has had the egr problem twice. Warranty ran out by 13 days. Ford dealership has had the truck now 20 days, putting in a new engine, New engine has a oil leak at dealership, 7-day repair, will not give us another new motor because its under warranty.$14,000.00 for new motor. $6,000.00 for 2 egr problems in the past. $1,000.00 for rental truck. Orginal cost of truck $28,000.00. No help, no reinbursment, nothing from Ford

  • James McDaniel December 10, 2010, 7:10 pm

I had a 2007 Ford F350 that i just spent 2000.00 dollars on and two months later it burns to the ground. Fire investigator said cruise control shorted out. I would like a attonery that will help me get my thousands in dollars of contents paid for by Ford. Anyone have any suggestions?

  • Kenneth Edelmann December 15, 2010, 2:20 pm

I have a 2004 F250 superduty 6.0 diesel. 50,000 miles sitting in my driveway. EGR problem, hydro-locked , bent rod. Ford said sorry, we can only give you a 10% discount on repair. It is just out of warranty. I too want to join the lawsuit. I am in Florida.

    • Don Jenkins December 15, 2010, 4:40 pm

I am also looking for one of the class action law suits .If you get hooked up with one could yoiu please advise me, Please

  • Michael Miller December 18, 2010, 10:50 am

I own a 2005 F350 with 28,000 miles that is currently completely disabled with blown head gaskets and cylinder #8 valve drop that rendered the engine unrepairable. Tryed to sue ford and lost because I was two months out of warranty. Am in the process of appealing this but have very little faith Ford will stand behind me unless I am bent over!

  • Robert Horsford December 22, 2010, 7:25 am

I have the same type issue with my Ford Truck and they won’t honor the warrranty — 2009 Truck.

How do I join this class action suit?

    • Robert Croy July 28, 2011, 5:35 pm

My 2006 Ford F250 6.0 Diesel has developed a leak in the high pressure oil pump. This caused the “loaded”: truck to die in the middle of Interstate 25. We had it towed to the nearest dealer (20 miles) at a cost of $140; that dealer recommended we go to our own dealer if we wanted to discuss some participation from Ford since that engine is a known problem. The truck is 1 month out of warranty with only 39,000 miles. We had the truck with it’s load towed home and took it to Greiner Ford and they agreed we had not gotten intended value but suggested we speak with Ford which we did and they said “no dice”. That answer is totally unsatisfactory. What now? Robert

  • Michael Grusby December 22, 2010, 9:52 am

I bought two F350’s one a 2005 and the other 2006, my 05 had its 6.0 engine replaced at 50K, now it is at 110K and it just had new injectors put in, I drive a ford focus (rental) more than I drive my trucks, the 06 just had a new EGR installed. At the dealership where I service my trucks, there is a billboard size Ford poster with a picture of 3 super duty trucks, the caption reads “WALKING THE WALK’ I think what they mean is, buy a Ford truck and you will be walking. Ford needs to step up, since they have not, I hope the lawsuit against them is won by the plantiffs and we all get money for downpayments on NON FORD trucks. What a joke.

  • Rodney Gabriel December 23, 2010, 11:48 am

It took me 3.5 years to sue Ford for my truck and I was victorious. They filed an appeal but knew they were going to lose again so Ford settled with me. I did receive payment from Ford. With this case now on the books for reference, anyone else who sues should be able to receive punitive damages as well. If anyone wants the court case number all you have to do is email me.

    • Alan Piercy December 24, 2010, 11:39 pm

    • William Harvey January 4, 2011, 7:05 am

Attention Rodney Gabrial Note with interest your posting on 23rd December 2010 I am William Harvey and made a post on the same forum on 22nd November 2010 I would be grateful if you could please e mail me any relevent correspondence you hold The difficuly I have compared with other contributors is I am based in Europe Ford has given me written confirmation that the warranty is valid in Europe The difficulty is they want me to buy a new engine from them at full retail ship it to Europe pay all import duties and taxes ( which are very expensive) and then pay for engine to be fitted in the Truck They will then “consider” a warranty claim The cost of doing this is circa $40,000 USD This Truck had covered less than 6000 miles when the engine destroyed itself ! Can you or any of the other contributors offer any assistance ?

I have a 2006 F350 w/ 6.0 l diesel w/ 92,000 miles. Have internal high pressure oil leak, oil leaks at front cover, rear main, and cam sensor o-ring, plus I need to replace degas bottle. Out of 100,000 5 yr warranty since January. Truck is at Lone Star Ford in Houston, TX. Looking at $3500 in repairs. I want to join a class action lawsuit in Texas.
Rodney, I need your court case number. I plan to consult with attorney and file lawsuit on defects, or at least join a class action lawsuit.
This is really disappointing!! I have been a loyal Ford buyer for years. Never had any problems with my 7.3l’s. Was told the 2006 was the first year they got the 6.0l right….NOT!!!!

      • Todd Metcalf August 18, 2011, 9:30 am

        my email is toddroofing@aol.com

      • Todd Metcalf November 29, 2011, 11:32 am

NOTE: Call FORD customer service and get a case number, sometimes they will help a little…at least with the parts. I did get assistance from Ford with my last repair. They gave us the replacement parts at no charge. So thank you FORD for that…..BUT NOW
Truck back in the shop with bad EGR and oil cooler, $2800 to fix!! Put truck in shop Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Just got a call this morning from the service rep at Lone Star Ford in Houston. Now he says they got another “code” this morning. Something electronic that controls fuel injection. He’s giving me a break on this repair cost, normally cost is $1000, but they will replace it for $700. Sucks!!! Spending money that I put back for Christmas for my kids!! How am I going to explain that one FORD??!!!!

I live in Texas and would love to be part of this lawsuit. If anyone reads this, PLEASE send me information on how you joined the lawsuit.

2004 F-250 with 105,000 miles. Oil cooler,EGR cooler, head bolts, head gaskets,(heads severely cracked). I’m replacing everything with remanufactured or after market parts at a considerable cost ($7,000-$9,00). The Ford dealer here in Rochester,Mn told me tough luck. Bought mine new in Nov 2003. 1st time towting a trailer the cooler blew next time the turbo failed and then at 75000 miles the headgaskets failed. Now again the cooler failed, along with the egr cooler. Then guess what another headgasket set failure . Ford just said sorry. That just simply will not fly. Ford needs to send my 5k back.

Ford may help you if your vehicle is under 6 years old and has less than 100,000 miles on it. Make sure you call customer relations before you spend your money

      • Brenda January 22, 2011, 8:10 am

And they will work on everything but the problem

  • Justin M. January 4, 2011, 11:06 pm

I own a 2004 F-250 6.0 L , the motor just hydro locked, I was told it due to the egr cooler and the head gaskets. I was told by a mechanic it’s anywhere from $4,000 to $11,000 my truck only has 94,000 the dealership said sorry buddy. I can’t believe how many people have problems with this motor if I knew they were this bad i would have never bought the truck. The truck can only be worth $17,000 I can’t see spending 11k on the motor for a 17k truck. I need help there is no way I can pay that much. What are some actions I can take to get help.

  • Angela Grieser January 5, 2011, 11:55 am

We are having the same problems with our 2005 F-350 6.o liter. We live in Alaska and my husband has been stranded in -40 weather. We bought it used and bought an extended warranty. The first time we ended up taking it to the BBB, it went to arbitration and we won. Ford reimbursed us for repair costs. Then it happened again, the Ford dealer paid for repairs. We drove it to Oregon on vacation this winter and started having problems AGAIN! This is all in under 5,000 miles of driving. Ford refused to cover the work this time and we couldn’t risk driving into Alaska winter weather with our kids so we had to trade it in on a new truck and take the loss. How can we join this suit??

  • Jim owens January 6, 2011, 12:19 pm

I have a 2005 F250 that is stuck at the dealership and they cannot get it to start. When it was taken in it was reported as the EGR, and Ford was willing to help some. I am sitting in limbo and want to know more about the lawsuit.

  • Karl Strong January 7, 2011, 5:42 pm

I also own a vehicle with a 6.0 l diesel. I had the EGR &Oil cooler replaced under warranty at 58,000 miles. And now 28,000 miles later it has gone out again. The top of this form this article where you can read the complaint and get the case number for the Atty. click where it says complaint

    Hello
    Yes these trucks are junk.
File a report BBB.That’s what i did, then ford denied there was a problem. So I filed a lawsuit myself. As of now it is on appeal @ 6th Circuit Court Of Appeal.Hope GOV. jumps on them like Toyota. If you will give me a AFFIDAVIT saying this and vehicle information.I will put is in to court as evidence. You can go to pacer.abbr.public access to court electronic records.look @ UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT MIDDLE DISTRICT OF TENNESSEE NASHVILLE DIVISION,KURT F. LUNA v. FORD MOTOR COMPANY, ET AL. NO. 3:06-0658,JUDGE ECHOLS and UNITED STATES COURT OF APPEALS FOR THE SIXTH CIRCUIT NO.09-5469…The more information I have will help me and everyone that has a problem. So the COURTS and GOV.can see there is a problem with this truck. You can Google. kfluna@bravehost that will tell you a little more. But it best to go and read all of it at PACER court record.

I own a 2004 Ford F350 Lariat Crew Cab with the 6.0. Many costly repairs hard to find a mechanic that will work on it anymore. Right now waiting to have the fuel injectors changed. Already spent over $8-10 thousand in repairs. I would like to join the lawsuit.

This was my first and most likely Last FORD that i’ll ever own. I would like to be included in any lawsuites regarding this 6.0L I have heard that International was’nt ready to turn this motor loose and Ford made them do it anyway. It’s a piece of junk King Ranch and car lots won’t touch it because by now everyone knows it garbage!

  • Loren Green January 22, 2011, 2:03 pm

I bought a 2004 F-350 with 60,000 miles in May of 2010. Had a bad egr valve that was replaced within 300 miles. Bought an extended warranty from local credit union to help with future problems. What a joke!! Had to replace two alternators within 3000 miles of each other and then the egr cooler and oil cooler were replace at a cost of $2000. Also had a bad
injector at that time that warranty did cover but they wouldn’t cover the egr cooler and oil cooler because they said it was a known Ford condition and was covered under their policy. Truck now has 72,000 miles on it and has been in an independent mechanics shop for two weeks as it will only run for a couple minutes and then start sputtering until it quits. Leave it sit 5 minutes and it starts right up and repeats the cycle. Have replaced the fuel pump and filters and cannot get it to keep fuel to the engine mounted filter for more than a couple minutes.
Old fuel pump still runs when tested with power. So no idea of cost yet and no resolution to condition. My mechanic will not go the Ford route and just keep replacing parts until something works. We are looking at building new wiring harnesses to ryt and find cause of problem rather than hit and misas parts replacements. I would like more info on how to get in the class action suit also.

I bought a 2004 Ford F250 Diesel and have had numerous problems with this truck. I have had to replace the turbo twice and the VGR cooler & oil cooler twice. The last time was the last. I was forced to get rid of the vehicle. I could no longer afford putting money into this vehicle. Please let me know how I can get my name on this class action lawsuit.

  • Steve Bentley January 25, 2011, 6:04 pm

Someone needs to start a class action suit against Ford over the faulty radiators that they have been installing in their Explorers ever since their introduction. I had a 1997 Explorer that I had to put six radiators in. Now, I’ve got a 2006 Explorer that needs it’s third and it’s only got 89,000 miles on it. Read up and see how many people have had radiator problems in the Explorer. If the dealer does the work, $800 a pop. Radiator cost $549 a pop. I’m discussing this last one with the service Rep. I was guaranteed for 12 months, 12,000 miles. We got 12, 720 miles on the second radiator. We don’t know if they’ll warranty the radiator or not. A radiator should last more than 12,000 miles. Somebody needs to start a suit and hold Ford accountable for a bad design and not doing anything about it for years.

  • Melanie January 28, 2011, 1:38 pm

Have all these same problems with a 2004 F-250 and the dealer I bought the truck from said that the head gaskets had already been replaced. I have a 2003 F-350 6.0L that I bought new in 2003. It has had the engine replaced twice. I have over 30K in repairs. I could write a book on all the problems. Please advise as how to join a class action lawsuit against Ford. It will definitely be my last Ford truck. petersen.gene@gmail.com

  • walt hagmaier January 30, 2011, 3:23 pm

I would like someone to tell me how to get involved in this lawsuit.
I bought a 2005 f250 6.0 diesel for reliability because i travel. It had the headgaskets repaired before i bought it. (I found this out later through an Oasis Report) Injectors, Egr Cooler problems 2 times, oil cooler, Ficm wiped out, And now its at an independant mechanic because im no longer under warranty and the heads are cracked. So now im looking at thousands of dollars in repairs and i want FORD to step up and rectify the problem! TOO many of us have had the same issues over and over and over. please email me ikantdrive@hotmail.com

  • Michael McBroom January 31, 2011, 8:26 am

I also want to know how to get in on a class action lawsuit for the 6.0L Ford. I cannot afford to pay to fix all the problems with my 2004 6.0L.
    Thanks,

      Sign me up.
PSD 6.0l problems with blown oil cooler pushing oil into coolant; failed injectors, failed fuel valve pressure regulator, cooling fan stator causing overheating.

  • Greg Stachura January 31, 2011, 11:39 am

Sign me up! My $45,000, 2004 F350 only has 56k miles on it and I have had a host of issues, most of which were not covered under the 5 year/100,000 mile warranty because everything started falling apart after the warranty expired…turbo replaced, blown off CAC hoses, failed EGR cooler, failed oil cooler, and now failed fuel injectors. I’ve spent more on repairs for this truck then all of the other vehicles I’ve owned combined in the past 30 years. Looking forward to Ford finally taking it in the shorts for not standing behind their vehicles and customers. Best in class and longest lasting diesel for the 6.0? Then why did they change to the 6.4 and 6.7 over the course of 3 years? I’d say they’re still searching for a motor that works and is reliable.

  • Tim B. January 31, 2011, 8:16 pm

I also want some information on this , since my F-250 Super Duty is a Super Lemon!! and it’s killing my business

  • Rodney K February 1, 2011, 11:08 am

I want in. Numerous problems, including EGR three times. 103,000 miles, bad cylinder, most likely result of coolant during EGR issues, and Ford says sorry about your luck. Thousands $$$ to fix and then who knows what else will happen. Can’t give these trucks away. Wahat a waste of $45,000. No more Fords for me.

  • James W. Johnston February 2, 2011, 5:04 pm

Count us in. Our Ford dealer just told us that my wife’s 2005 F250 Diesel has a blown head gasket. Come on! The heaviest thing we tow is a 90 pound pit bull named Phoenix. We are taking her to Detroit!

Email address is jwhittles@gmail.com — how do we get involved?

  • Rory Vrolson February 3, 2011, 10:56 am

I have several 6 ltrs and they have all had continual problems and would like more info on this lawsuit

  • John Catalfumo February 3, 2011, 6:01 pm

I want to be involved in this lawsuit as well. I regularly put 3k per year into towing and/or repairing the faulty design of this motor. It has left me and my loved ones stranded on the side of interstates with HORSES!!! leaving me NO choice but to get industrial towing! Ford has endangered me, my family and my animals. They have made no suggestions, reparations or solutions to the design flaws available (even for a fee) to its customers. The consumer is basically left with no options other than to drive along and pray that the same problem does not happen again. I purchased the truck for $45k and can not afford to get another. Im stuck… literally and figuratively. Please, I want to be involved.

I have a 2004 F250 King Ranch with the 6.0 that I purchased new in Texas. I have since moved to Oklahoma. about 14 months ago and at about 70,000 miles my EGR went bad and I had to have it replaced by the local Ford dealer. I went around in circles with Ford and finally they picked up about 50% if the cost still leaving me with about a 1600.00 out of pocket right before Christmas. Here is is Feb 2011 and today it’s happening again. I am wanting to find out is someone in Texas or Oklahoma has a class action that I can become part of and if not I am contacting an attorney friend of mine in Mississippi and see if he would be interested in doing something.

    • J. Green March 1, 2011, 10:03 am

Any luck with finding something in Texas? I am still looking. Ford needs to pay for this, I already have!

  • Bryan Byrne February 10, 2011, 11:44 am

I have bought an 2004 6.0L it was my truck of my dreams. I reached a point in life where i could finally afford to drive one, but i cant afford to keep it on the road it seems. bought it used of coarse and a month later had problems and the motor only had 85k on it. So i took it to a ford dealer(Victor Ford in Wacaonda Il,) and they listed a number of things wrong with it. Heads were shot, 4 injectors were out, bad egr, and the oil cooling sending unit was bad to! so at the cost of 4,4oo dollars i told them to fix it. Well after said and done the truck ran good for a day and started to act up on me again. So I took it back to them and they had told me that the bottom half of my motor needed to be rebuilt. Like they couldnt of told me that before i spent that 4,400! So i didnt do it! Truck sat four a year(While still making payments) before i could do anything due to lack of funds. So after some research my friend and I pulled the motor out (to save money) and took it to have it rebuilt. That also cost me 4,000 plus with extra parts that i had to buy! I have all receipts to prove. Now that im broke and laid off from work, spending all that money just eats at me every day. ive contacted Ford Motor Co. via email and got no response! They def dont stand by there product! Please help me! I also Would like to the Class action Law Suit.

  • Scott Lally February 10, 2011, 4:19 pm

I have a 2006 F 250. Replaced the transmission last year ($7000) and now needs a new motor, which the dealer says will be over $14,000.
Interested in more info about joining the class action suit.

  • Debra Atchison February 11, 2011, 5:53 pm

My 2004 f250 6.0 diesel stalled at night pulling a loaded horse trailer. Almost was a horrible accident if the Semi’s behind me had not been paying attention. I parked the pick up in November of 2110. Since then I have sent off the FICM to be tested and repaired. Came back, same problem. Replaced the crank shaft sensor, cam sensor. same problem. I notified Ford by phone calls, emails. With hours on the internet I checked with NHTSA and found a campaign #o5V27000, action #EA05003 and Ford recall #05S34. I went to Google, NHTSA rcalls and then entered the campaign number. I was beside myself with joy when I read that Ford must fix my problem!!! Please take the time to read it. I then called Ford. I was told that there was no recall on my Vin.# I tried to tell them that the problem and I was told “you have no other avenues but to pay for the repairs, get over it and there’s nothing you can do about it!!!” I was OUTRAGED!!!! My mechanic at a Ford dealership told me that the FICM, wiring harness for the FICM, and possibly a wiring harness(because they fit too tight when installed) could run into the thousands!!! My pick up only has 108,000 miles on it!!! Because my Vin.# doesn’t state the problem does not mean the problem isn’ there.!!! I have been verbally mistreated by Ford becase of their faulty design. They built it, I didn’t. I have filed a complaint withFederal Trade Commission 1-877-382-4357 and another complaint with NHTSA 1-888-327-4236. Why is my pick up exempt when NHTSA plainly demanded Ford to fix this problem??

    • Pat Gambardella February 12, 2011, 8:49 am

I had an electrical problem with my ’04 F650 where it would be running & suddnenly stall out. Then wouldn’t crank on the restart.
There are several electrical connectors in the engine wiring harness . They burn out & take relays & computer with it.
Then there are the 4 slave cyl. assemblys with a tiny pin that bolts to the clutch assembly that always breaks, now dealing with an EGR , EGR Cooler, Hi pressure oil pump nightmare.
This truck has only 95000 miles.
My Intenational & Dodge trucks with 400,000 miles on them don’t give me a fraction of grief !

  • Pat Gambardella February 12, 2011, 8:22 am

I’d like to know if there is a class action lawsuit in NY concerning this engine that I can join.
    Thank you

My husband and I endured a nightmare that financially ruined us involving a 2003 f250 6.0 deisel. We refer to it as the ford from hell. We kept replacing feul injectors and eventually massive engine failure. It was stranded at a ford dealership accross the country. We learned later after the bank reposessed, that a ‘ silent’ recall was issued for these injectors. The dealers were made aware, but the consumer and owners were not . We would love to be included in a lawsuit involving this issue.

  • Chris SHelton February 14, 2011, 3:59 pm

Wow – how dissapointing all this is. I have an 06 F-350 King Ranch 6.0 long bed, crew cab. As you can imagine, it wasnt cheap. Major problems with the High Pressure Oil Pump, with the cost of almost $3k to fix – this is the second time through the shop with the same problem.
How can the government not step in on something this bad???

Ever since I got my 2005 Ford F-350 I have had issues . Ford has already replaced two head gaskets with heads. Yesterday it was about to breathe its last breath. 40,000 U.S. Dollars then on top of that I have to pay another 2 to 4 thousand to get it Fixed. Well I would but I have no vehicle to get to work. Now I am having to find a way to get to work. Thanks so much Ford!!

  • Paul Pritchard Jr February 18, 2011, 12:24 pm

I bought this 2006 Ford 350 Super Duty with only 6000 miles on it, and in a week the engine light was on. It hasn’t been off for over a month in the last four years. A 43k dollar truck that nobody in their right mind wants to buy and the same dealership that sold it to me doesn’t even want it back. So, there you go, Ford gets rich on another sucker! Yeah, sign me up, I’m over $5,000 in repairs and ready to fight the whole lot of them.

  • Echo and Bob February 19, 2011, 5:31 pm

Wow. It is unbelievable how many issues there are with the 6.0. We also have 2004 F250 King Ranch 6.0 diesel. Our problems started at about 75,000 miles. I was 35 miles away from anywhere and my EGR Cooler went out leaving me stranded in the middle of BFE. Had to pay $100.00 just to be towed to the nearest ford dealer.

Of course Ford would NOT pay for anything because we were two weeks past our warranty date!!

We have had several – I mean SEVERAL issues since then. All fuel injectors had to be replaced a couple of them twice, replaced a the piston and connecting rod, rebuilt the head, and EGR cooler.

We have put over $10,000 dollars into this vehicle in the last year.

We bought the truck in Arizona and now live in Nevada. We want in on this law suite also. Can anyone tell me how to get in on this?

  • Brad Houtz February 19, 2011, 7:23 pm

F350 King Ranch the big bad boy i thought. Ford customer all my life, cant run a buissness when its in dealership average over 5 years every 63 days. You name it has broke, the truck itself not one problem. Its all engine problem,i am very very dissapointed Brad I like to spill some crap back to FORD because thats exactly what they sold me for 52,000 in 2006.

  • M.D. Santillo February 21, 2011, 9:57 am

I have a 2006 Ford P/U with a 139,000 miles, powered by a 6.0L diesel & it needs a EGR valve. I’ve been told by some mechanics, I’m getting steam coming out the rear exhaust from the engine coolant getting into the exhaust. They want a lot of money to repair/correct THIS problem. I’m told to expect more and very expensive problems ongoing problems and join the action to have Ford & Navistar correct the problems that I did cause. This is a result of Ford/Navistar poor design.

How can I get in on the action to have Ford/Navistar correct their Engine problems. Thanks,Mike

  • Mark Lynch February 22, 2011, 5:10 pm

My NH company is the owner of a 2005 f350 with the infamous 6.0 l diesel. The truck has approx. 122k miles and started experiencing major problems at just over 90k. At that time 4 injectors were replaced under warranty and then less than a year later the truck began to blow white smoke. The estimated cost to replace the oil cooler, egr cooler, heads etc. is over 10k and according to my research this may not fix the issue. The estimated value of the truck is around 24k or less and there is no way I am going to invest that kind of money in this vehicle. As of now, the vehicle sits and I stand to lose thousands having to pay subcontractors to cover the plow route for this vehicle. Ford and Navistar should be held accountable for fleecing their customers. If possible, I would like to join this class action lawsuit. Please contact me asap. Thank you.

Can we involve all owners??? This is just for California. We have the same problems with this piece of junk here in Texas too! I want in. Spent over $7500 to get my 2006 King Ranch back on the road after the EGR, OilCooler and Headgaskets blew.

I purchased my $44,ooo nightmare brand new in Jan 2004. A F250 Super Duty with the 6.0. The truck is in the shop as I write this, the 25th repair order. Just a summary, 4 EGR valves, 2 turbos, ICP sensors, CAC replaced. The first EGR went out at 28,000 miles the first year. My truck has 130,000 miles and now has bad injectors, I’m waiting for a call from Ford, I know, GOOD LUCK. The 1959 F100 sitting in my backyard is more reliable!

We own a 2003 F350 6.0 and it has been a piece of crap, since passing about 70,000 miles. Last year we put over $8500 bucks into it. As I sit here, yep its in the shop again!!! Looking at over $2500 bucks this time, with no guarantee this will fix our problem. We bought the truck to travel with our 5th wheel trailer… it’s our 3rd one… we have broke down numberous times on the road. Almost afraid to travels with it, it like, “what’s it gonna be this time” ? We love any information on Cloass Action Law Suit also…. Thanks

    2005 F350 has 87,635 miles.
Was in at 84,075 miles had major repairs under warranty,is not right yet. Complained to dealer for months, got the run around.
Took truck to another dealer Ford will not take care of a preexisting problem they failed to fix under warranty.
    Have documents.
I will not drive this truck ,because when this comes to a head with all the 6.0L owners I don’t want to do any new damage to the engine so Ford can yet again bail.
When at the dealership the one salesman I talked to tried to sell me a 2011 with the new IN HOUSE built diesel ,my reply was show me some of the 2011s that have gone 200,000 miles without major repairs first.
I would like info B4 I take Ford on myself.

I would love to join this lawsuit. I have a 2004 F350 6.0PSD that had EGR issues twice then at 114685 the EGR cooler when and so did the oil cooler with out warning. Coolant and oil mixture in the block and a mess eleswhere. Towed it home to repair it myself due to the 100000 warranty is up of course. So far 1300 into it. Not happy at all!

I am a paramedic/Firefighter for a living and our 2004 E-series Ford Ambulance had the same issues at 45000-cuurent. Blew the cooler 2-3 times and in for repair more than helping people.

Garbage engine. So sign me up for the suit.

Traded in my 2005 F-250 for a 2003 Silverado 6.6 Duramax diesel. Replaced transmission, engine oil cooler system, and egr coolant system on F-250. Ford and a local Ford dealership, in my opinion, threw me under the bus. “Built Ford Tough” = FLUFF. Never again will I buy Ford.

  • butch eustice March 1, 2011, 1:59 pm

2004 king ranch 350 4door dually problems problems problems . egr valve , egr coolent ,now water leaking, getting hot 93000.miles went i first brought it was getting 17-19 mpg. every time ford worked on my truck my power and gas mileage dropped.the rear end center nut has backed off twice. they are aware of this.one of the dealership said ford motor was re programming and turning the motor power down to make it last till warranty was up. looks like it worked. i am in. p.s. they extended the warranty on ambulances to 7 years, why not us

  • M. White March 1, 2011, 2:25 pm

Just a follow up from my post on 2-23-11. Per Ford Motor Co, “we accept no financial responsibility.” I purchased the truck from Freedom Ford in Fresno, Ca., this where the injectors are being replaced. I spoke to Mr. Rapin, the dealership owner and received the same reply. Ford Motor Co. did offer to supply me with a pin # for an employee discount on a new Ford vehicle, just what I want, more f’n torture. I ordered my rather large vinyl lemons for my F250. If Ford Motor Co. and Freedom Ford has no shame or dignity, why should I?

  • G.Armstrong March 1, 2011, 9:40 pm

E 350 with 129,ooo miles. Bent crankshaft and rods. Water got into cylinders. Vapor got into exhaust. All the same problems as previously mentioned in other posts. Bought it new for $33,000. I thought maybe it would get 400,000 miles before any issues. Dealer said it would cost between $12,000 and $14,000 to replace engine. My van doesn’t have a scratch on it. I spoke with the dealer about trading it in and he said maybe $800-$900 trade-in value. Even a Ford diesel mechanic working on my engine said how much he hated these engines. So much for customer loyalty. How do I join the lawsuit?

I want to be included in this class action law suit. I have a 2005 350 dually that I use for recreation use only. It has only 48,000 miles on it which I have only put 10,000 miles on it since I bought it 2 yrs ago. Last week coming back from a trip it started blowing white smoke and using coolant. Just started researching the problem on line and found every one with the same problem. This is not right. Ford should not be selling these used trucks with these problems. Were do I sign up?

  • George Currin March 2, 2011, 4:01 pm

Can I join this lawsuit if I live in Oregon?

  • anthony mawyer March 3, 2011, 2:56 pm

Would love to hear about a class action law suit in Idaho. We bought a 2004 F350 and it has been nothing but a problem. Heads went first at $4000.00 then the ERG at $700 and now the heads are blown again. We cannot afford to fix it anymore and this is all in under a year.

  • Ken Trent March 3, 2011, 7:24 pm

Is there a nationwide class action suit for the F250 6.0?

  • Richard Cain March 3, 2011, 8:09 pm

Or is there a class action suit in Florida?

  • K Mcghee March 5, 2011, 12:59 am

I have a 2008 F-250 with the 6.4 and at 128000 miles and it needs a new engine at a cost of 13000. Where is the “Super Duty” in that? This truck has a perfect service record, no towing, no programmer and I always let it cool down even if it has only ran for a few miles. Looks like Ford is keeping up tradition. I am in Georgia. This lawsuit need to be nationwide and include the 6.4 Liter.

  • Jean-Marc March 6, 2011, 10:26 pm

2007 Harley F-250, 91000 miles, grenaded engine apparently due to (lack of maintenance). Truck sitting in the driveway with no motor….how do the get away with it? Never again, should of kept the Dodge with a Cummins.

    • John April 3, 2011, 5:13 pm

Jean, Want to sell this truck’ as-is’ . If so give me a buzz.919-878-0174 thanks.

    • Don Kiphuth April 16, 2011, 11:36 am

      I traded a 97, F-250, 7.3 ‘, for my F-350,’03, with its 6.0L engine
and it’s been downhill ever since, the dealer had it back in the shop more than I drove it the first year, every time it came back it would have less power and consume more fuel, (new updates)
I was offered 5k for a trade in on a 57k 2009, instead I spent 7200. on the engine, new pump, injectors, egr etc, now it has a code for #1 & 5 injectors, where do I go from here? Over $12k
out of pocket in the last two years, I’m a contractor who needs his truck every day, I don’t appreciate renting trucks from Enterprise or U-haul while Ford screws with mine and can’t get it right, 194,000 and Ford kissed it good-by after my extended warranty expired @ 100k, so please anybody with any info on how to make this class action suit nation wide, please drop me a line, Ford sucker in Minnesota

  • J Harper March 7, 2011, 11:24 pm

I’m thinking the head gasket blew in my 2004 F250, 6.0 diesel today. It lost power, & white smoke poured from the exhaust, & it had a sweet-burned smell. I see from a little research on the internet that this is a problem that has gone unresolved with Ford. I’ve already had this truck in the shop 3 other times for repairs, twice in the past 4 months. I think i’ve shelled out enough money on repairs for this truck. The California civil action case is #3:10-CV-02295-LAB-BGS
What I want to know is how do the rest of us that live in other states make this a national class action lawsuit?
