American Airlines AA Class Action Lawsuit Complaint Over Disability Retirement Benefits

American Airlines Pilot Retirement Benefit Plan Participants File Class Action Lawsuit Complaint Against American Airlines AA Over Disability Retirement Benefits.

A class action lawsuit has reportedly been filed against American Airlines Retirement Benefit Program, Plan Administrator of the American Airlines, Inc. Pilot Retirement Benefit Program and American Airlines, Inc. (collectively “American Airlines” or “AA” or “Defendants”) in the United States District Court for the District of Arizona (styled Andrea Susan Twitchell v. American Airlines Retirement Benefit Program; Plan Administrator of the American Airlines, Inc. Pilot Retirement Benefit Program; American Airlines, Inc.,) alleging, among other things, that American Airlines engaged in procedurally and substantively defective claims determinations to deny claims for benefits, including terminating benefits without receiving information that differed in any material way from the information American Airlines received when they determined that the claimant was disabled, purportedly in violation of the American Airlines, Inc. Pilot Retirement Benefit Program (the “Plan”) and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, as amended (“ERISA”), 29 USC § 1001, according to the American Airlines AA Disability Retirement Benefit class action lawsuit complaint.

The American Airlines AA Disability Retirement Benefit class action lawsuit complaint is reportedly brought on behalf of the following putative class of persons pursuant to Rule 23 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, unless otherwise excluded:

All Plan participants who at any time within the applicable statute of limitations, received disability retirement benefits and had their benefits terminated and all current Plan participants.
