Worldwide Golf The Golf Mart & Roger Dunn Golf Shops Class Action Lawsuit Settlement

If purchased merchandise from The Golf Mart or Roger Dunn Golf Shops retail stores in California, used a credit card to make the purchase(s), and were provided, requested or required to provide your addresses, e-mail address, zip code, telephone number, and/or identifying information, your rights may be affected by a class action settlement.

A class action settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit against Worldwide Golf Enterprises, Inc. (“Worldwide Golf Enterprises” or “Defendant”) pending in the California Superior Court for the County of San Diego (styled Eric Flores v. Worldwide Golf Enterprises, Inc., et al., Class Action Case No. 37-2008-0085406-CU-BT-CTL) alleging, among other things, that Worldwide Golf Enterprises, Inc. violated California Civil Code section 1747.08 by requesting customers’ address, e-mail address and/or phone numbers in connection with customers’ credit card transactions at The Golf Mart & Roger Dunn Golf Shops retail stores in California, according to the Worldwide Golf The Golf Mart & Roger Dunn Golf Shops Class Action Settlement notice.

For purposes of the Worldwide Golf The Golf Mart & Roger Dunn Golf Shops settlement only, the Court has reportedly certified a class consisting of all persons who, from June 10, 2006 to the present, purchased merchandise from The Golf Mart or Roger Dunn Golf Shops retail stores in California, used a credit card to make the purchase(s), and who may have provided, been requested or required to provide their addresses, e-mail address, zip code, telephone number, and/or identifying information.

The proposed Worldwide Golf The Golf Mart & Roger Dunn Golf Shops settlement benefit is a Gift Card that is valid for $15.00 (fifteen dollars). Gift Cards may be used at any of Defendant’s California retail store locations and are valid for ninety (90) days after issuance. No minimum purchase is required for a Settlement Class Member to use a Gift Card.

A final hearing will be held before the Honorable William S. Dato on November 17, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. to determine whether the proposed Worldwide Golf The Golf Mart & Roger Dunn Golf Shops Settlement is fair, reasonable and adequate and should be finally approved by the Court. The hearing will take place in Department 67 of the San Diego County Superior Court, Hall of Justice, located at 330 West Broadway, San Diego, California 92101.

    I don’t think I would bother with a $15.00 gift card! If there is a reason for a lawsuit I would hope it would be worth more than $15.
