Verizon Wireless Customers File Class Action Lawsuit Against Verizon Wireless Services Over Cell Phone Extended Warranties.

A class action lawsuit was filed against Verizon Wireless Services, LLC ( “Verizon Wireless” or “Defendant”) in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey (captioned William Powers, Derrick Frerichs and Just Construction & Management, Inc. v. Verizon Wireless Services, LLC, Case No. 2:33-av-00001) alleging that Verizon Wireless engaged in fraud in connection with its selling and marketing of its extended warranty program for mobile phones which purportedly runs concurrently with the phone manufacturer’s warranty which already covers the cell phones for defects in material and workmanship for the first twelve months after purchase, according to a class action lawsuit news report.

The Verizon Wireless class action lawsuit is brought on behalf of a class of all persons in the U.S. who, in conjunction with purchasing or upgrading a mobile phone or device from Verizon Wireless, received an express warranty for defects in material and workmanship from their phone manufacturer and purchased Verizon’s “extended” warranty program or “Total Equipment Coverage” from six years prior to the filing of the class action complaint.

    I have a verizon contract ,when i signed it i had a phone to use now my phone don’t work they didn’t offer to fix it.They wanted me to sign another contract for two yrs or buy another phone.I asked them if they could cut my payments in half since i don’t have a working phone,& they said no .This company has been awful to me & i have been a customer for a long time,they shoulden’t be able to do people like this & get away with it.When i signed the contract i had a working phone, i only have a little over three mo. on my contract i’m a senior citizen living on a fixed in come,how can the law let them get by with this. IT sound like they’re breaking the contract and not me.

    How do you become a plaintiff in this Verizon lawsuit? I am going through a terrible divorce with 3 children and my Verizon bill runs on average $489. to $1,000. every month – then to top it off my mentally handicapped child had an Amber Alert and they denied being the carrier of her phone so the POLICE could not GPS her. Plus I could name numerous other erroneous acts that are deplorable – unfortunately my job as a Realtor demands that I have my phone so I have to tollerate this and every month I go to the store and make a call (they have a raquet – customer service to financial service back to customer service, ect….) OH I JUST WANT TO JOIN!!!!!!! Thank you for any info!!

    My daughter went to verizon in baltimore Maryland and bought us a family with four phones. The phones have not worked since we got them. My daughter went to the verizon store and complained they told her she just did not know what she was doing. When she called the company they had no records and said they could not help because there was no complaints. These phones do not work and we have not been able to use the service. What can we do? I want to cancell but they want to charge us a cancellation fee for only having the phones a month and not even that it is not right.

    I hope you can give me advice.

    We have been a Verizon Customer for about seven years. We have purchased phones like almost every year. Since day one with Verizon we have and still been purchasing the extended Warranty every month for six lines. And almost every year we have purchased a phone or two and now the prices for extended warranty I’m paying for are $7.99 for just about every line. I just have encountered a different type of fraud with Verizon today & customer service said oh how sorry they are and their giving me a partial credit for $47.00 when it should be about $110.00 I told them no not to give me nothing no credit at all I am going to contact an Attorney. I have been paying $9.99 for each month for the past 11 months and not getting that service. When we purchased my daughter’s phone I made sure the feature was not available to my daughter and no additional cost would be added. I told sales that we didn’t need it and she told me she block it and assured me of no additional monthly fees. I made sure we were no use to that feature and as of today we are not, but we are getting charged for it I was told by customer service today. If I wouldn’t have gotten a letter Dated 12-3-10 regarding this block, letter states that I am paying for this feature I can remove the block and enjoy the feature or if I wish not to keep it I can have it removed. For us being such loyal customers that we have been for seven years I would not have known, that’s how much I have trusted Verizon without checking my bill.
    That is so sad and horrible Verizon is not a trusted company

    How do i go about joining class action suits against verizon. I used their services from March 2008 to nov 2010. They charged me about $500.00 , Sprint is charging me about $200.00. I bought their insurance for the equipment when i tried to use it. It was good for nothing. When I finally cut their services off they send me a bill for about 1,700.00 which i am paying about 100 a month.

    After many years as a VZW customer with multiple lines, data plans, upgrading every two years, etc…… I started getting bills for between $300 and $500 EVERY MONTH…. for an unlimited text, data plan with 1400 min where, according to the bill they posted for me online never went anywhere NEAR the 1400 min.. usually well under 1000.

    Every month they had a different excuse why my $180 bill was double+ that amount, as well as WHY I couldn’t SEE the charges on MY bill! Finally, I discountinued my service..get this… after over a decade as a customer, they are charging me EARLY DISCONNECT FEES for one phone I’ve had FOR THREE YEARS, one line that was 4 DAYS SHORT OF THE END OF THE TWO YEAR PERIOD and another line that was a year short (fine). I had one rep tell me that the phone I had for three years had the CONTRACT RE-STARTED when I added my employee discount! (not a new phone, not a new line)

    Now they’ve discontinued my online account so I can’t protest the final bill of close to $600.00 – I wasn’t behind on my bill, I wasn’t over on my minutes, and I can prove that I have had the one phone for three years –

    CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AFTER AN FCC INVESTIGATION!!!
