Class Action Lawsuit Filed Against Netflix and Warner Home Video

Netflix Users File Class Action Lawsuit Against Netflix and Warner Home Video Over New Film & Video Release Delay

Netflix users have filed a class action lawsuit in U.S. District Court in the Southern District of New York (Manhattan) against Netflix and Warner Home Video over their recent decision to delay the availability of new releases through the Netflix rental service for 28 days after the initial on sale date of the films, according to a class action news report.

The Netflix and Warner Home Video class action lawsuit complaint reportedly alleges that Netflix and Warner Home Video agreed in January that Netflix customers would not be able to order Warner Brothers DVDs until 28 days after the films or videos were available for sale or rent at other locations and that this agreement is an alleged scheme to restrain trade.

It’s not just Netflix that is guilty of this pre-planned delay. ALL of the companies who offer supposed “new releases” purposely delay the distribution until the production companies and them agree it is time. In my opinion, the ones that were a flop at the theater are released more quickly for sale/rent than those who were a hit. Thus you are forced to buy/rent movies described as “new releases” which in fact should be perhaps labeled “new flops at the theaters”.
