I don’t think Samsung has learned their lesson. My 55 inch LED HDTV was bought in Feb. of 2010. Just last month, the TV started to act up and finally, came the clicking sound and now the TV won’t even turn on. I new I should have acted earlier as a colleague of mine bought the same TV. Fortunately for him, his died due to the capacitor problem just as his warranty was about to expire, so SAMSUNG agreed to replace both of his power boards. As for me and the rest of us I see on the internet with SAMSUNG TVs, we will have to shell out around $700+ to get it fixed. Does anyone know if there is another class action suit underway for the POST 2009 TVs? I see that there is one for consumers of the 2009 and before TV. Please help as I’m furious SAMSUNG is doing nothing to help with this issue.

This is not fair at all… my 46 inch Samsung just a few years old is now having hte ghosting images… I just learned about the suit and my serial number is in the batch…

I want to get in on this and be compensated for the TV which now takes 10 minutes to warm up… it will eventulaly die… Chinese crap againnn

I would not even know where to go for a repair.

Been trying to get my 40 in. LCD repaired by Samsung now since Feb. 20th spent many days on the phone, waiting at home for the service guy to show when they said and no calls or cancelled appointments. Just cancelled repair services 5 in all so far. They can’t send a repair tech because they say I’m to far away from the service center. Customer service at Samsung really really sucks…… If I treated my customers only half as bad as these people had treated me I would be out of business. They will not even send me the parts so I can fix it, But first they did offer a to send a replacement TV if I pay 350 USD this way they won’t loose any money as the $350 tv retails for 550.00 (Best Buy) which I’m sure makes them a few bucks or more. I paid over 1500.00 for my TV WHAT A DEAL EH! But I really would not own or buy another POS Koren crap that Samsung sells EVER again. ALL I want to do is contact someone in the court system at this point and complain and possibly get this thing fixed once and for all as it has not done a bit of good talking to the many people I have talked to at Samsung, and cost me more time off work and all my time on the phone and chats with these IDIOTS and I have had all I can take. If anyone knows who or how to get in touch with someone that has the power to get something done PLEASE POST IT HERE! Thanks, Dan

CAN’T GET CLAIM FORM. CHECKED EVERY SIGHT. BAD ENOUGH TV WAS A LEMON, NOW THEY DON’T GIVE YOU THE CLAIM FORM. DISGUSTED AFTER TRYING FOR AN HOUR.

Samsung denied there was ever a problem despite blogs, utube videos, etc. filled with many complaints about the capacitor issue. It’s so sad that it takes a lawsuit to get them to remedy the problem. Consumer beware! I will not buy any SAMSUNG product. Still waiting to see if Samsung follows through with my claim. I got all the information off the Samsung website after they emailed me about the settlement. I sent them all the information they requested. One week later I get an email from them telling me that my claim was refused because there was no service center name on my receipt. After calling and emailing several times I have not received any response from the head of the claims department. Not only did my 40″ tv need capacitors replaced I also have a Samsung 24″ monitor that’s been repaired twice because of the capacitor issue. I have a feeling that this is all going to end up back in court.

I BOUGHT A 3000 DOLLAR LED FROM THEM IN EARLY 2011 OR SO. TOP OF THE LINE WITH 3D. NEVER EVEN GOT TO USE 3D AND TV WENT FROM CLICKING AND SHUTTING OFF AT RANDOM TO NOW BEING COMPLETELY UNUSABLE….

I CONTACTED THEM AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THEY RECOMMENDED ME TO A SERVICE PERSON 5 HOURS AWAY IN PENNSYLVANIA.

    TO BOOT:
6TH AVENUE ELECTRONICS BAIT AND SWITCHED ME THEN WENT OUT OF BUSINESS. THEY SAID THAT THEY WERE PACKAGING A 3D KIT VALUED AT 300+ DOLLARS BUT THAT “THEY RAN OUT” THE DAY I PICKED THEM OVER BEST BUY. THEY WOULD CALL ME IN A FEW DAYS WHEN IT CAME IN…. THEN THEY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS AND NEVER CALLED.

    NO 3D KIT
    NO TV
STRESS, HEADACHE, LOSS OF MONEY AND TIME, DISTRUST OF MANUFACTURERS WITH THEIR PLANNED OBSOLESCENT GARBAGE…..

ANYONE KNOW THE LAWYER INVOLVED IN CLASS ACTION SUIT? I WANT TO SEE IF THEY WILL START A NEW SUIT FOR NEWER MODELS WITH SAME PROBLEM….

  • bob kemmer August 8, 2013, 6:59 am

It appears that Samsung has a serious dlp problem. Now they have the white spot issue and also light engine failure. The white spots are caused by a bad dlp chip and samsung has ok’d replacement for certain models(based on complaint numbers, I assume), however, most or all of their dlp tvs contain the same chip made by Texas instruments. I am quite sure that questioned a large percentage of each model owners experienced the same issue and deserve to have the tv repaired by Samsung.
I read every article available on the Samsung dlp tv prior to purchasing it and made my choice as I wanted the best and based on their own literature the picture would last the lifetime of the tv. I have that article and will present it next to Samsung.
Any advice for remedies would be appreciated.

This p.o.s samsung 51 inch plasma failed twice since 11/2012 PN51D530A3FXZA first bought 11/2011, failed again 2/2014, so twice in 1 year and 2 months. No power on, plug it in and click click click… etc. led flashes each click/click, then nothing. Same problem both times, first repair was just days before one year warranty, but that repair did not have a year warranty, and now its a year and 2 months later. We have old solid state tube(CRT) tvs that still work without any repairs. Hey federmanlaw dot com, how about another class-action!

  • nick May 29, 2014, 10:37 pm

I bought a samsung LN46A750 and have been having capacitor issues for over 2 years now. It would work eventually after “warming up for about 10-40 minutes” but now its out completely. I never was informed about this class action lawsuit and can not afford a new tv. I was wondering if there was anyone else in the same “boat”. I called Samsung and they told me my tv was not in the class action, but it has the same defects I said. They responded they can not do anything for me since it is out of warranty.

    Anybody offering any advice!?
