I can’t tell you how much money I have been overcharged using Safeway’s Home Delivery service. The offenses range from either not giving me the Buy 1 Get 1 Free specials as advertised, with ending dates long surpassing my delivery dates, Or, I check off the box that says NO SUBSTITUTIONS and I get much more than I ordered (I ordered 2 corona beers for a recipe and got an entire case that I am stuck with that cost me over $30). Also, they claim items are out of stock and give you a much larger version of it, yet, since something is always missing from my order I end up going back to the very same store my groceries were delivered from, and see these products right there, on the shelf within minutes of my delivery. If I order a single layer cake, I get a double layer cake at double the price, and so on. I am tired of Safeway’s false advertising and hope that justice prevails. When I complain to Safeway, they give me NO CREDIT towards my orders and won’t even waive the delivery fee if I return as a customer. I am done with Safeway. They act as if they are doing you a favor by providing a service that is also provided by other companies. I will shop Peapod going forward. I will NOT be treated like a 7th class citizen by a bunch of retailers. Any reply I get from Safeway’s “customer service department” is from a “Bonquisha,” or a “LaFonka.” It is evident that they allow anyone to deal with their customers on their behalf and any reply I get tells me that I need to call them. I WORK SAFEWAY. I am not taking time out of my day to correct a very easy to read complaint that you can just as easily fix without speaking to me. ASSHOLES.

I can say without a doubt me, age 50, my mom age 70 and my grandmother age 92 all get overcharged at least once a month. However,
this isn’t the only grocery store that practices such bad behavior.
I thought it was illegal for grocery stores to overcharge on items.
Of course they are hoping you won’t either A) check your receipt or B) not bother with being overcharged .30 cents. I actually feel foolish to have to routinely show the clerks the errors. But I feel even more foolish knowingly I have been ripped off.

does anyone know of a suit that is currently open. I use this company at least twice a week and at least twice a week I am over charged. Even the employees state that the rewards/discount card program is not acurate. I am sick of having to print up a copy of my sale pricing everytime I go to the store. They should be aware of what they offer and fair about offering it to everyone! I am overcharged at least 25.00 per month and spend at least an hour and a half monthly – waiting/working for my refund.

I am constantly overcharged from Vons every single time I shop there. the deals from J4U are good, that’s why I keep going, but of course one or two items are always overcharged. I have called the 800 # listed on the receipt, and have been returned these “overcharges”, but it requires being on the phone for atleast 30 minutes each time while they put me on hold, check the J4U, etc. Such a waste of time. These little overcharges of 30 cents, 50 cents add up..just think how much more money goes to them if each customer gets an overcharge insignificant enough for the customer to feel that they need to waste time getting it corrected. I am going to call Weights and Measures County office and report them for this. It’s been happening for years now. I suggest you do the same, I feel like an idiot for letting then rip me off for so long.

I have had several problems with Vons online order delivery the past 3years. I only order online if I can’t drive due to being in a cast on either foot. To get free delivery I’ve had to purchase $150.00 of groceries or buy additional 5 items they list that I really don’t need or items claimed they don’t have in stock are replaced with items I don’t like. I always have to call them regarding missing items or buy one get one free items and the total charges are always $50.00 more than if I got the same items I requested by shopping in the Vons store myself.

It is sad that some one like me who is in a wheelchair and blind has to be taken advantage by a Super large Corp. That doesn’t give a dam how they make there money. I have ordered items on line later to discover that they put on line that Item no longer available. And when you get your order the item they said was out of stock suddenly appears and are charged for it. Mean time you order something else to take the place of the item to replace the other. Then you have to much of one thing. I believe the State Attorneys Generals of each state should look into the price fixing of Safeway/Vons under the RICO Act. This will get some ones attention at Safeway/Vons.

I placed a huge order for over $500. This was 8 days ago. The website nightmares of freezing and kicking me out made the task take 13 hours of my time. With a fractured hip I don’t have other choices. The whole process was so screwed up! So this time I talked to delivery’s assistant manager who said he’d prevent expired products, melted items and missing items from happening. So much ice cream was melted, and items missing, but was overcharged for them. They sent a delivery of missing items and still 2 things were missing. I called the asst mgr again and he said he thought they were out of it. No one told me, so now I have to wait and see if I get refunded for that and other messed up items. And, yes, they charged more for delivery items than they did products on the store’s selves. Grocery shopping isn’t supposed be hard or take up all this time. Quitting Safeway totally!
