HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR THIS SUIT?
I want to sign up for this class action lawsuit too. I need more information. Where do I sign up?
I have this problem too. I need to sign up for this and hold them accountable. If anyone knows how, then please email me. valenziano1328@hotmail.com

Me too. 2005 Nissan Maxima exhibiting same signs described above. transmission jerking randomly, after engine warms-up. Seems like it forgets what gear it supposed to be in, acting as if in Neutral, then jerks back into gear. This usually happens in 2nd gear; has happened both times when my children were in the car. The tires actually skidded last night it jerked back into gear so abruptly. Really unhappy to hear this problem is so rampant, a lawsuit has been filed, but hopeful of a resolution. I don’t see where anyone has posted anything on where to get current info on how lawsuit is progressing.
MattWood63@gmail.com.
My 2005 is doing the same thing after it gets warmed up – jerking and acting as if in neutral then a hard shift back into gear. I have called Nissan Motors and filed a complaint and I am going to take my car into a Nissan service shop and have it diagnosed and then get back to them. The number is 1-800-NISSAN1 (1-800-647-7261).
Just replaced our transmission on 2005 Maxima for roughly $3300 at Edwards trsnamission plus 1 week rental car cost. Second Maxima in a a row that needed new transmission. Contacted Nissan. No interest in helping. Started experiencing problems just out of warranty. Jeff olbina 317-702-2939.
This needs to be a class ation lawsuit.
My 2005 Nissan Maxima be jerking acting like it don’t wanna change gears too.. If anyone knows more information on this lawsuit please email me at patrickparham@ymail.com.
My 2005 Nissan Maxima has the same jerking motion through a faulty transmission. Can someone please advise info for being a part of the class action lawsuit.

I m having transmission slips once car is warmed up. This is dangerous. I also paid $900 because I was told this was a motor mount issue but it still happens. I would like to be part of this lawsuit.
I have a 2006 maxima and is doing the same thing. I need more information on this lawsuit. I would like to sign up.
My 2004 Nissan Quest’s transmission locked up last August while traveling, I had it repaired by a small service and towing company in Bullhead City Arizona. They only tinkered with it, spray painted it and charged me over $3,500.00 for a rebuilt transmission. 44 days later it went again. I went back to them, they had it for a month but claimed it was a new problem that wasn’t coverd on their bogus 12 month warranty plus while they were probing around it, they shorted out my meter (odometer, fuel guage) assenbly which costed me another $800.00. I sued them and just won the judgement last week. However I had to have Aamco trully fix it for $4,200.00… It is working now but I could have avoided all this if Nissan would have just come clean to begin with. I am super pissed off and want to get in on this class action lawsuit! I haven’t found out where or how to do it yet so if anyone out there knows, please let me know.
Mr. Pat Jenkins, I tried to tell you what was up… just because I feel for you.. really sucks that happened… the truth is your transmission was rebuilt… and really nissan’s to blame.. u can do some research through the O.D.I office of defects and investagions. that have hundreds of cases just like yours.. many, many had new transmissions put in by dealerships only to fail again.. send me your email and I’ll send u a copy of the law suit along with 2 other suits… oh yeah our rebuilder also worked for aamco 15 years… got tired of seeing people get ripped off.. if you think they wont say anything to get a sale.. YOUR WRONG.. how much do think they made of you really. you really have no idea… yeah it was a good bonus for them.. sorry to have to tell you but…. so like i said last time i saw you, just remember.. when it fails again. so i dont have to say i told you so.. do some reserach. oh yeah.. we didnt probe anything… didnt need to… theres a plug for scanning codes. I have no reason to lie..
Its about time. I purchased what I thought was my dream car only to have the transmission jerk when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear and at times getting stuck in 5 gear. When I try to put it in manual and downshift; I can’t so my acceleration is very, very slow until I pick up speed. Which sometimes isn’t an option on residential blocks. I understand vehicles breakdown and unexpected mechanical issues arise but, with something of this magnitude happens Nissan should at least absorb half of the cost if you have them repair it. It’s not like they aren’t overcharging for their services anyway.
just wondering if any other repair shops have had any problems like mine.
I work for a small repair shop in arizona. last year we had a 04 nissan quest come in with transmission problems. trans was locked up!! so we took it apart and if needed to be rebuilt.. so we did that.. it ran great.. so far, so good…. so we thought. about 6 weeks later, customer calls saying trans is acting up.. ok.. told him to bring it back and will check it out.. so he brought it back, we ran codes and we got ECM, TCM error which was causing fluid pressure to be too high. advised customer that the ECM issue need to be addressed first.. (we dont do electrical) once that problem is fixed we would be glad to fix any problem that our rebuild may have caused.. customer said “we have never had any electrical problems before” and took it to another shop to have it look at and they talked the customer into buying a new trans from them. even though the customer had a 1 year 12,000 mile warranty from us.. we never told him we would not fix his trans just that there is other issues with ECM. the other guys said that ECM if fine… now since then i have been doing a lot of research on this subject and as we all know this is a common problem… however, we are now being sued for not only our costs but the bill from other guy as well..
GOOD GOING NISSAN.. ANY OTHER SHOPS WANT TO SUE NISSAN???
I have 2005 maxima and the transmission is starting to slip, what steps do i need to take and will nissan repair this problem.
About four years ago I decided to purchase a vehicle for my wife to address our need for extra space for our newborn son and our two other children. We went to many dealerships Toyota (which I was high on), Hyundai, Kia, and others. When we arrived at the Nissan dealership my wife saw the white Quest with the multiple sunroofs and fell in love. I personally , would not drive it for about three months. When we went on a long distance trip I had no choice (too strange). Soon after this trip we discovered that the sun roof was leaking. Then the tire sensors started going, Now the brake rotors needed changing with the same frequency as the pads (every six months). Soon after that the transmision began slipping and knocking. We were told by our Mechanic that the mounts were gone. This raised my suspisions. I am reluctant to do any more repairs unless absolutely necessary and would appreciate the opportunity to put pressure on Nissan to take some responsibility for their inferior product. I would like to join in the Class Action against Nissan. Perhaps I could take my hard earned $$ over to Hyundai. It appears they may have an inclination of how to stand by their Product…
I need help too. I have a Nissan Maxima thats giving me the same problem, please help me. I have three more years to pay for this car.
Let me know what i need to do.
Thanks
My husband and I bought our 2006 Maxima with 40k miles on it, 20k miles later, we have to completely replace the transmission.PLEASE, WE NEED HELP. I need to sign up…..can anyone help me??
I am having the same problems in 2004 Nissan Quest. Slipping occurs when 1st to 2nd gear, seemingly only when car has warmed up. And I also noticed the jerking.
Any information on pending class action suits in regard to Nissan Murano CVT and or transfer case? I incurred a $3000.00 repair at 68,000 miles for a new transfer case without apparent external damage. Dealt with Nissan Customer Affairs NA for a month only to be turned down, 2 years and 1600 miles later, transfer case is shot, leaked fluid, car deemed “unsafe to drive”, no warning light no unusual noise/vibration. Now looking at $3400.oo repair, plus corroded subframe bolt (??only one of four is corroded) at a cost of $1300. Thus far, Nissan has turned me down again for assistance, despite the fact that the car could have suddenly stopped at any time, any speed, without warning. I have kept meticulous records of all phone calls.
Go to nissanassist.com . I found that and just saved a friend $5800 , got a new cvt trans put in her 2006 murano. Warranty has been extended to 10 years 120000 miles. They will even reimburse you the money you already have spent, good luck.
I found that info, when I was looking into the shifting problems we have been having for 6 or7 months hoping to find a secret warranty or something for my 2007 quest, when its warm it shifts hard up and down, stop and go driving can be a real nightmare.
I WANT TO KNOW INFORMATION ABOUT THE CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST NISSAN.
Does ANYONE have ANY information about the suit.
I have a 2005 Nissan Maxima and already had a transmission replaced but the new one that the have put in a year later is starting to act up. What do I need to do to join this class action lawsuit? Any info Please contact me at ninaa3984@gmail.com
I have a 2006 Nissan Maxima and when it got around 80,000 miles on the highway in between 10 and 15 miles per hour it would start to jerk. It also jerked when I would be turning a corner right when I would go to accelerate. After 2 month of this problem happening intermittently the engine light came on and then it did it all the time. I had an extended warranty and was able to get the transmission rebuilt. My AC goes out every year too. I have had freon recharged 2 times and this last time the compressor and a hose was replaced. Now the AC isn’t working again. Nissan sucks!
The same issue here. I finally emailed Nissan over the situation and they responded back, in the same day, with a case number, and to take it to a dealership to have them look at it.
Just had the “service engine” light turn on, on my 2004 Nissan Maxima that has 99,000 miles and obviously I took it to dealer so they could do a diagnostic check. They came back and told me I needed a whole new transmission and quoted me $3,900 but I was able to get them down to $2,950 plus a 3 year and 50,000 miles warranty, but that’s a lot of money to cough up. Of course I decided to call other auto shop’s to get estimates, but now that I know about the class action lawsuit, I will use that as a leverage for a complete transmission do-over, or at least some type of massive discount on the transmission. Still very upset about the whole situation. Thanks fellow Nissan Maxima owner’s
Having the same transmission problems with my 05 Altima SE-R. The attorneys handling the lawsuit can be contacted here: http://www.chimicles.com/nissan-transmission-failure-altima-maxima-and-quest-vehicles
Hi Chris, do you think these attorneys would take my case? I have an “04″ Quest that just went in to have transmission done. Started having problems since very early last year but was told ” Oh no its not the transmission, you just need a complete flush out (Trany, Coolant, Tune-up). Had it done in July of 2011 and since then hasn’t gotten better, slowly getting worse. Last week it finally reared its head. Put it in park to drive, stepped on the gas and it reved up but barely rolled. Vehicle only now has 86,000 miles.
Nissan needs to be held accountable for selling garbage. I have a 06 Maxima, started having transmission problems at 61k. Reverse to Drive jumping, hard downshifting, etc. Alternator went out at 58k miles..
I will NEVER buy another nissan again!
I have a 2005 Nissan Altima with only 17,000 miles and had problems with my transmission. Took it into the dealer when the engine light came on to find out that my transmission was locking and failing causing my car to jerk and making it hard to shift gears. 3,000 dollars later I had to get a new one. Now I’m having issues with the starter. When I start my car sometimes it turns on with no problems, other times it makes a weird noise and I have to turn on the ignition about 3 times and let it rest before it starts running again. I have replaced my starter twice and even replaced my battery but at this point mechanic can’t seem to figure it out. It’s becoming so frustrating because now when I get into my car I’m fearing that my vehicle won’t start. Need info for this action lawsuit!!!!! Please provide info.
please i have a 2005 quest minivan that keeps seems to not shift once in 2nd and 3rd my engine light hasnt come on…had several mcechanics look at no codes are coming up on van…they are telling me a new transmission for about 3500 my van has 90k i dont have this type of money how can i get on class action lawsuit…crazylegice@yahoo.com
would someone give me info so I also can file and be apart of this law suit, I have a 2004 max with transmission slipping issues,,, please email me,, thanks, about something is being done to help us with this problem,,,
I need help too. I had a 06 Nissan Maxima that gave me the same problems and before the transmission finally went out I did a voluntary repo because I couldn’t afford to get the transmission replaced. I would like to get more information about this law suit as well since now they are suing me. Let me know what i need to do. Here’s my email address: kspencer47@gmail.com
Thank you so much!
I have a 2006 Nissan Maxima i have had the Catalyst Converter changed in Oct of 2011 and then my Transmission started giving me trouble and they told me if was the revloution sensor so i had it replace and now my Transmission has went completely out at a 100,000 miles. I have never had a car give me as much trouble as this Nissan Maxima and i have talked to several people that has had transmission problems with their Maxima as well and i would like to be apart of the Law suit as well. I am still paying on my car and they want $3000.00 to replace the Transmission at the Nissan place and every where else i have been dont even want to touch it because Nissan has had so much trouble. If you would please send me a email telling me how i need to go about the law suit i would greatly appreciate it..
Thank so much
I have a 2006 Maxima SL and is having the same problems as everyone else. My car has been sitting for nearly 6 months because of transmission problems but I am still paying on it every month. I only have about 67,000 miles on the car. Nissan needs to do a recall on the transmissions. I guess they rather loose customers than to do what is right.
Jimmy Cooper, Columbus, GA
I have a nissan myself with a bad tranny the engine is junk also nissan should pay for them both. Wore out junk at 80,000 mi is not rite.
I have a 2006 Nissan Maxima 3.5 SE and I have the same issue with it violently jerking. I’m terrified in traffic that I may be rear ended because of the hesitation to go when giving gas and then it jerks hard before it will accelerate. Also, when ever I go from parked gear to drive it does the same thing. It’s scary having two children in the car and I’m trying to merge on the interstate from on ramp and the car totally stalls with a semi coming and cars behind me. When I purchased the vehicle it had a lot of miles so I bought the extended warranty just in case. Before making one payment I already had to take it in to be serviced because my turning signals, speedometer, all blacked out and was informed the warranty didn’t cover it. This vehicle has been a huge disappointment. Please let me know more.
I am relieved to see that a Class Action lawsuit is being filed against Nissan for transmission problems. I purchased what I thought to be a quality vehicle a 2004 Nissan Maxima with approximately 14,000 miles in 2006. At about 78,000 miles I began to experience jerking while decelerating. I took it to the dealer and was told everything “except” transmission problems. After continuing to experience the same problem I took the vehicle back and was told I needed a new transmission and was given a written estimate of $4,389.86! The car only has 80,000 miles on it. When I questioned the service manager about the intergrity of the transmission and not even holding up to 100,000 miles (the whole reasoned I purchased a Nissan) I was told “things happen”.
Here are the lawyers handing the class action suit:
http://www.chimicles.com/nissan-transmission-failure-altima-maxima-and-quest-vehicles
I have tried reaching them to no luck so far, but I am sure they are fielding many complaints. I dont know the status of the lawsuit outside of the fact that its “ongoing”
So I would suggest everyone looking for help to contact these guys. My 2004 Maxima is starting to have this problem as well. However, I suppose I am one of the lucky ones. I am at 125,000 miles and outside of the occasional jerkiness of the transmission, my car has been ok.
what do the miles have to do with that they put in defected transmission in these car.
Have the same problem with my 2005 Nissan maxima. The car jerks and eventually shuts down. After it starts up again it is in another gear and takes off slowly. I can actually feel it slipping and I am so afraid that it will lunge into another vehicle or into traffic. Can I sign up for this or get another case going since I’m in Alabama .
2006 Maxima, same symptoms being described here. It’s fine when it’s cool but after 10 minutes of in-town driving, I get this: clunky shifts into reverse, laggy shifts into 2nd gear followed by a hard, sudden shift (caused by the engine racing during the lag), downshifts when slowing down are abrupt and seem late. 1100 miles out of warranty. Are you kidding me??
I would like to join this lawsuit as well…..horrible Nissan! You won’t get me again!
I have a 2004 Nissan Maxima Se with a number of problems. My transmissions is sjerking really bad and hesitates when it switches shifts. It now has to be replaced. It was jerking so bad that is caused my motor mounds to break, they have to be replaced also. The wheel bearings and the struts also have to be replaced. Its like everything happened all at one time. Now I’m really stressing because I just dont know if I can afford to get everything fix neither do I have the funds to get a new car. I just don’t know what I’m going to do. I really need a miracle.
I have the same problem that I’ve seen and heard described everywhere else.
Transmission starts to slip and jerk… hangs in 5th gear sometimes… eventually mine went out entirely. Car wont go into gear. Now they want over 4000 to fix it.
I just don’t have that kind of money. Who does in this economy?
Now I’m stuck with a car payment driving a cheap car I bought with cash. I will never buy nissan ever, ever, ever again. My first and my LAST.
I have the same problems mentioned from other web pages for 2005 Maxima. I would like more info for signing up.
Thank You,
MKM
I have the same problems with my 2004 Maxima right now it at the service department when they say transmission needs to be replaced. My car was jerking hard when going into 2th and 3rd gear ,then other gears start to slip, slow when taking off from cold stop. I am very disappointed because I love my car.But too much money. Who has this much money at one time just to use on the car, when you are trying to take care of your family
It’ s about time for nissans to pay for their mess.I have an 06 nissan maxima that sit in my packing lot with the same probleme.then they are expensive to fix.
I am having the same problem everyone else is having , how could a big as Company like Nissan fuck up such a nice car with putting in defect.
It’ s about time for nissans to pay for their mess. who has this kind of money to get the car fix and have to pay these big as car notes. Why don’t everyone who have one just stop paying the note and let them come and get the cars then what will they do. They would end up with a lot of defected ass cars. LOL
I called Nissan Service and ask if they could get a tranmission tune up, they said no, they are not going to touch that. when they said that I knew something was wrong. I said to myself what have i got myself into.
Trying to pay this high as car note and get it fix!!!!!!!!
Just adding my name to the list. 2006 Maxima SE owned since new, 70K, erratic shifting, hesitation, $4400 estimate from dealer. Owned Datsun 510 (awesome simple car), Nissan Sentra, 280ZX, 96 Maxima, 99 Maxima. The ball’s in your court, Nissan. Will you work with customers or call them competitors? But I do have good news: the next big thing in the web will be the shift in balance of power from companies to consumers. Right now we can’t even conceive of what that would mean… which is how I know the prediction makes sense.
I am having the same problem. I have owned two other Nissan’s and had no problem. I buy a 2005 and there are more problems than you can shake a stick at. This car is definitely defective. The transmission problem is unbearable. There should be recalls to fix the problem.
Contact me if you have more information so I can sign up for this lawsuit.
My email is napier8877@yahoo.com. Please email me with any information concerning this lawsuit.
I had the same problem wit my 06 maximal SE but took it back to Nissan and the gave me a new transmission car was still under warranty so I thank for that It’s been fine ever since
