Dish Network Customer Files Electronic Funds Transfer Act EFTA Class Action Lawsuit Complaint Against Dish Network.

A class action lawsuit has been filed against satellite provider Dish Network, LLC (“Dish Network” or “Dish” or “Defendant”) in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (styled Jacqueline Townsel v. Dish Network LLC) alleging, among other things, that Dish Network initiated electronic funds transfers without prior written authorization of the owners of debit card or bank accounts and allegedly failed to provide reasonable advance notice of its intent to initiate electronic fund transfers, purportedly in violation of the  Electronic Fund Transfer Act, 15 U.S.C. §1693 et seq., according to the Dish Network class action lawsuit complaint.

The Dish Network class action lawsuit complaint is reportedly brought on behalf of the following putative classes of persons, unless otherwise excluded:

The Consent Class consists of all natural persons in the state of Illinois to whom defendant initiated an electronic fund transfer without the prior written authorization of the owner of the account from which the electronic fund transfer secured or attempted to secure payment on or after one year prior to the date of filing the complaint in this case and twenty days thereafter.

The Notice Class consists of all natural persons in the state of Illinois to whom defendant did not provide reasonable advance notice of its intent to initiate an electronic fund transfer on or after one year prior to the date of filing the complaint in this case and twenty days thereafter.

    I would like information on how to file a suit against DIRECT TV for electronically debiting money from my checking account without my permission, resulting in bank fees, and ultimately runing my banking status. I paid my Direct TV account online, with my debit card using the “one time only” payment method each time my payment was due. I had a financial hardship for 60 days, I called them to make them aware of my hardship and request an extension to pay the said bill. I was told they would shut off my service if bill was not paid. Then they took money (that was not available) from our account using the information I used when I would make the monthly payments online. I do not think they should be able to do this. I only authorized money to be debited electronically from my account as a “one time payment” when I paid my bill each month online. Is there anything I can do to rectify this situation so it does not happen to anyone else?

    Yes, I would like infomation form filing them same suit against dish network here in maryland. After incorrectly installing their service I discontinued service. I was informed that’s I had to use my credit card to initiate the service and that i would be charged $50 which would be applied to my first month service. Well, I only had the service for a week. I asked if they would send someone to pick up their equipment and remove their satellite from my roof. Nonetheless, I ended up having to close my credit card acct cause they charged what’s they called one time fees on my acct that’s exceed$500 causing over limit, late, finance and other fees against my acct. I closed the credit card acct. after having to constantly call to dispute the charges, I asked them credit company to stop allowing them charges to be applied and I filed a fraudulent usage charge with the credit card company. But, the credit continued to allow direct tv to posted charges. This resulted in derogatory information filed on my credit reporting files. It took me over two years to get them to refund the credit card company but they didnt pay the late fees, over limit fees normal them finance fees. The derogatory reporting is still on my credit files due to be removed this year and their satellite dish is still on my roof. I want them to remove their satellite dish off my roof and I want them to pay me for advertising – to me its like a billboard ad

      The same happened to me. I closed my credit card day before yesterday. It was the only way to stop Dish.

      this is what is happening to me at this very moment, been with dish network for one week and it has been a nightmare from hell, I cant cancel or dish well charge me 460.00 for one week of service that does not work, this should not be ok to put people through this it has been hell and I just had to give in, I couldn’t take the BS any more, someone please help!!!!!!!!!!

        I have been ripped off by Dish Network like everyone else here. I paid for the Service and they were unable to provide the service. I cancelled Dish, do to not receiving the programming they contracted for. Yet Dish still charged me $480 because they said I quit early! They are ripping everyone off like this. I filed a complaint with the FCC, though it hardly mattered to Dish. Now I have a lawyer to sue them. Wasted time. They have professional escalation management which should tell you Business is good ripping people off!!!

    the service at dish network is horrible.The customer is responsible for all their technical problems-interference-t.v.,monitors defected , unable to connect certain t.v.s to their system and they have no way of correcting the problem.If you cancel their service you are personally penalized Dish withdrawing your money from your checking account without your consent.Why has the government not intervened or do they not care?
    I can’t believe the American public is being scammed by dish network a direct t.v.Why is this allowed,customer paying for defected equipment or repairing it themselves with a pamphlet and their time.

    4-13-11 I have been “hornswaggled” by Dish Satellite TV – a so-called “RETAILER’ for Dish Network. They ILLEGALLY, IMMORALLY, & WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION stole $276.80 by a withdrawal from my checking account. I’ve been trying for the past 3 days to resolve this issue with beaucoup telephone calls.       I, too, want to join the lawsuit. I have been fighting with DISH since June, 2011. I had to cancel my credit card. They said they did not recieve my returned equipment and charged my card without my authorization. They continued to charge my account monthly from my requested cancellation date of June, 2011 until Jan., 2012. I just got another monthly bill from them today. I have moved twice, returned all their equipment and spent countless hours on the phone with them. I believe this is a deliberate way to steal from the consumer. It is carefully orchestrated theft. Someone has to stop DISH.

        I have been flight ing with Dish over returned equipment, the reason it was not returned is because they did not send boxes before I moved. Even though it was their fault, they do not listen and are charging us $266. for the equipment. My son has spent hours on phone with them to no avail. I did cancel my credit card but I am sure if it is not paid they will hurt credit rating. I believe they are thieves too. They need to be thought ethical behavior by being sued. If it would help.

    Dish Network what a scam !! I came home from work to find my wife had been lied to about a bundle package with are phone and internet provider. I called Dish Network eight hours after it was installed to cancel there service. I was told once we signed we where stuck with them it has been one week to the day dish has debited my account over $100.00 their equipment is junk and does not work right at all. I am in AZ and i want information on the class action lawsuit as well. I am going box up their junk and put in on the front porch. I like Direct TV they have given me enough credit to my account to buy out the Dish Network contract and that is what i am doing as i type. I would like to be emailed information on the class action lawsuit please.WARNING STAY AWAY FROM DISH NETWORK just my opinion.

    We signed a 2 year agreement with Dish Network during which time our rate was locked in. They continue to raise our fees during this period and have taken this money using our credit card without notice or permission.
    I have to call them every few months and demand reimbursement. These people are committing fraud on a national scale.

      We are going through the same thing, we signed up in Jan 2011 with a understanding of 12 months at a price of 49.97 which includes taxes, then the next 12 months it would be 59.99 before taxes. This worked for the first 2 months, after that it has gone up and never been consistant in cost. Each month is a guessing game of what the cost will be. Customer service is no help, they each tell you one thing, the next person tells you the last person was wrong. All this to get nowhere or a five dollar credit. Its a joke and I hope someone starts a class action suit against them. They charge for things that you dont have then you have to fight to get your money back. Claim a price lock guarentee to get you signed up then say there is no such thing as a price guarentee. Its Crazy. and we have 18 more months before I can get out of this nightmare.

    just wanted to let you know that this is unbelievable. Just canceled my Dish Network account and was told that they are just going to charge my credit card they have on file without my authorization. I explicitly told them that they where NOT authorized to do this! However, I called my bank and canceled my credit card at once. I would advise anyone dealing with the same issues to do the same. I also signed a contract where the price was supposed to be locked in, but when the bill jumped to over $20. 00 more per month I decided to cancel my account. In addition, the installation was supposed to be free, but actually cost me $159.00, which I ended up paying. I hope this helps.

    CALIFORNIA – I paid Direct TV one time monthly payment a couple of times ( it was NOT set up as a regular monthly electronic transfer ). I used my credit card as a favor to pay the bill for the person who had the account with Direct TV – it was not my account. I just found out my bank account was billed $256.05 for early termination fee and a past due bill of $34.16 – WITHOUT MY PERMISSION causing my account overdraft charges and overdraft fees. I was only aware of the charges because I happened to use my card at the store today and it declined my purchase. I called my bank to find out why the charges were declined and my account was on overdraft status due to Direct TV charging my account WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. I would like to file a class action suit against Direct TV for charging my account WITHOUT MY PERMISSION on another persons account. Who can I contact. I would like to be emailed information on the class action lawsuit please.WARNING STAY AWAY FROM DISH NETWORK just my opinion.

    I RECENTLY (3 MOS) MOVED TO NC FROM FL. I TRIED TO TRANSFER MY DIS SERVICE AND THEY REFUSED. TODAY I CHECKED MY ONLINE BANK BALANCE AND FOUND THEY HAD DEBITED $315 FROM MY ACCT WITHOUT MY APPROVAL.

    I CONTACTED THEM AND THEY REFUSED TO TALK WITH ME ABOUT THIS CHARGE. I THEN CONTACTED MY BANK AND THEY ARE SENDING PAPERS TO FILE A DISPUTE. I AM ON A FIXED INCOME AND THIS HAS REALLY DAMAGED ME FINANCIALLY.

    HOW DO I GET IN ON THIS ACTION?

      Neither the bank nor the credit card company will support you. For whatever reason Discover recently decided that in spite of Dish Network forging my signature on a contract, Discover demanded that I pay the $282 termination fee. I do not owe Dish anything and I refuse to be black balled and coerced into paying them anything via any company or bank — credit rating be hanged. Paying cash for purchases is probably better for me anyway.

    I am in NY and I had $262.00 taken out of my checking account without any authorization. I thankfully have a great bank that credited it back to me. It caused four overdrafts in my account. I live check to check and this was devastating. Please add me to any class action suit.

    I CANCELLED DISH NETWORKS ABILITY TO DEBIT MY MASTER CARD ON 8/11/11, RECIEVED AN E-MAIL FROM THEM STATING MY AUTO DEBIT HAD BEEN CANCELLED, ON 9/13/11 DISH DEBITED MY ACCOUN T $243.00 FOR EARLY CANCELLATION.
    REASON FOR CANCELLATION- HAD SERVICE FOR 60 DAYS AND SERVICE WAS INTERUPTED 23 DYAS DUE TO WEATHER. THEIR SUGEESTION WAS FOR ME ( I AM 73) TO GET ON THE ROOF AND TURN THE THE DISH, WHEN I TOLD THEM IT JUST HAPPENS WHEN WEATHER IS RAINY, THEY STATED THAT I WOULD HAVE TO DO IT WHEN THE SERVICE IS OFF..

    Is this suit still active? I have Dish Network and they have overcharged me every month. Everytime I call they say they have resolved this and my next bill is twice as much. They have gotten to the point where my bill says “refund” but it’s actually being charged. Please provide any information available to assist me with these concerns.

    We had bad experience of price increase without notification by Dish Network. Upon signing up with Dish network we were informed the price is good for two years. First after six months they hike up by $5.00 without notification and then all of a sudden we get to see the hike of $20.00, when contacted them were informed that price was promotional price for one year and was supposed to go up by $15.00, apologised for the inconvenience and tried to reduce the price by $10.00 as if they were doing us a favor. This is because we had signed up for auto pay, because we were informed that this promotion is valid only if we sign up for auto pay. By signing up for auto pay we have given them the charge of our account so they can withdraw any amount and hike the price without notification. A RIP OFF by DISH NETWORK… LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS IS STILL ACTIVE I WOULD LIKE TO BE PART OF IT .

    I looked at my account online today and $96.73 was charge to my account, I have no notice or any information letter from Dish network. Also I was told that if I move and cancel the service due to new place cannot have dish on roof, their will be no penalty to break contract. I pay them for 1.5year out of 2 year contract. I like to join in this cause they took out of my account without my knowledge.

    yep me too same story… my bank says they can continue to take anything they want from my account for six months because I “had a contrct with them” My CCU has lost my business forever. They say debit card rules prevent them from stopping it.

    I discontinued the automatic payment to Dish Net from my checking account in December 2011; and decided to cancelled their services in May 2012; I was surprised they charged $176.50 in June 2012. If there is any lawsuit to them I would like to join them.

    I’ve never had an account with dish network and I never will.
    My mother had an account with them, just before 3 months was up there appeared a black rectangle with only about 4 inches of picture visible around the edges, the voice was not affected. She called them asking for help which they would provide at $75.00 hr. She gave them permission to speak to me over the phone. I tried to reason with them, since there was supposed to be a 90 day warranty, to no avail. She dutifully paid her bills every month until the contract was over (she still had the black screen). When we called to cancel the service the person on the other end got very belligerant and threatened us with sending our info to a collection agent. Since the 2 yr. contract was over I told them to go ahead, I would be speaking to an attorney.
    They wanted my name and information, I laughed and told them I ‘ve never had a contract with them and never will . I then advised them that if they sent any info to a collection agency they would be hearing from an attorney. I almost forgot, they threatened my sister also, they got her info off of a check she had mailed in to pay our mothers bill.
    I told her to contact her states attorney’s office for better advice.
    After she contacted her states attorney’s office she quit recieving the threatening phone calls from the collection agent.

      We ordered dish from a walking sales person telling him we wanted Fox Sports in HD he said sure no problem. After installation we tired getting Fox Sports and couldn’t, called them no one could help, finally sent out a Tech and he told us that Dish can’t get Fox Sports in HD. My husband called and talked with them and said if we can’t get it we wanted to cancel the service they said no we were under contract. They have now charged our debit card for $389.84 after calling them and telling them we cancelled our card, they did it five days later. Is there any help out there?

      They also used my new CC that was not on file with them. They charged $156.52 on a card that was not onfile with them. I do not know how they got my new CC# but Dish had my new CC# 7 days befor I activated my new card. If there is a class action law sute agenst Dish I would be verry happy to talk to some one.

    My husband and I were victims of this as well…We live in Ks. We had service for 7 years, we upgraded our DVR and after having a sudden financial crunch terminated our service. Without notification or Authorization they debited our account for $190! I was told by Dish Network that they didn’t have to give notice or gain authorization. I want to file a suit against them for this act of theft! Because of their sticky finger ways, our account has been assessed several fees and some of our important bills were returned.

    How do I get in on this lawsuit? I just had almost $600 worth of charges against my debit card for my daughter’s bill. I used my debit card to get her signed up with dish, but was told that they future charges were on her and my debit card would never be charged again. I didn’t give them authorization to use my debit card again nor do I know WHY they still had it on file. This is ridiculous. I cannot even pay my rent now or any of my other bills. I have sent in an email to them stating to reverse charges and to my bank to dispute the charges, but this is messed up!

      I had the same thing to happen to me my son use my debit/cedit to get dish network supported to be a One time thing and my son canceled the service and returned the equipment and they was not authorization to take nothing out of my account they have rip me off for around $450 the first time about 4 months ago in September for about $50 and the second time January of 2015 for $400 that I did not even have in the bank they put my account in the red over $286 . and they will not put the money back in I am debuting the charges to see if visa will butit back in my account I to had to closed out my account,i would like to be in on that lawsuit against DISH NETWORK I am from Louisiana.

    i was screwed by dish network also for 385.00 dollars on their one time payment now they claim i cancelled early witch they told me i wasnt qualified for the package. so they just gave me another one witch i couldnt afford then they stopped the service and demanded the box back witch i did .then they acused me of canceling and took 385.00 from my debit card without my permission. 3 months later they threatened me with automatic withdrawl ,witch i thought it was a empty threat till they did it .

    We had television service with Fronteer and dish network was subcontracted through fronteer. We signed up on a trial basis and had no contract with dish network. They never got our bill right, were constantly overcharging us, we had to call them constantly to correct the bill, our satalite went out so many times so we decided to cancel. Even when our dish was installed the technition stepped onto our covered patio and broke it and fell to the concete below breaking his leg and hip. Dish refused to rebuild our patio or clean up the mess.Now they have attached our account on 3 different occasions for $395. we get the money refunded by the bank but they do this over and over again,We filed fruad charges against dish with the bank but somehow they are able to deduct these funds. This is such a fruadulant company they never had a contract with us. we are dealing with my husbands cancer and chemo therapy and the last time our money was taken from the bank it put us in the negtive as a result we were unable to buy his medication that he needed for his cancer treatment and the stress caused him so much phyical pain and aggrevation. Please sign us up on this lawsuit.

    Dish has been over chargeing us $10.00 / week for the last year.We have had nothing but problems from ther billing almost every month
    for the last year.
    The $10.00 over charge, the supervisor told me was for block Buster
    movies. Dish called us, after we had service instaled, to tell us that Block Buster was not avalable for our area. The internet speed was too slow.
    When we contacted Disd, they said that they could only refund $20.00 and then said that we had block Buster by mail. He said that that was what the $10.00 charge was for. We did not order that service.
    This company, from all the complaints I have seen on here and on the internet in general, needs to be put out of bussness!
    I would be more than happy to join a class action lawsuit in Tennessee or a federal lawsuit.

    dishnetwork is a slick conartist.. i went online to pay my bill and i was paying 500$ to pay my bill for 6 months when i did i confirmed my bank account and the 500$ after the confermation a pop up said thank you for your payment of 5000$!!!!! I about fell over!!! I immediatly called dish and they sed that 4500 would be refunded to my account. that was feb 4th and now it is feb 17th and no money!!! i called them on the 10th and they sed there is nothing they can do it takes 7 to 14 days for the ‘process’ BULLSHIT i sed u took my money in less than 24 hours and there is no reason my money should take any more time than that!!! they got the technology to beam a signal from space to my tv in a millisecond but it takes over 2 weeks to get a refund? what a crock!!my bank account is now overdrawn by 600$ and the nsf charges are over 125$ i can’t pay my bills at all and my bank account is frozen cuz of these asshole!! the name of one of the jerks who sed this is C J FONSECA AND HIS DIRECT PHONE NUMBER IS 303-942-8605 EXT.52851 CALL THIS MISERABLE EXCUSE OF A MAN WHO IS THE CRISIS RESOLUTION MAN OF DISH NETWORK AND GIVE HIM A PIECE OF YOUR MIND!!     Please I would like to know how to file a class action lawsuit against Dish network for unauthorized funds being withdrawn without my permission from my debit card for equipment that was returned to them in 20012 and they are as 02/28/2013 taken 350.00 out of my money saying it is for early termination, I am in receipt of a email they sent me saying it is for equipment but their agent picked all of it up in 2012. here is the email to them and from them to me
    Dish does lie here is a letter to them from me the account referred to was stopped and all equipment was returned to them picked up by there agent it was opened in March 2012 and stopped in the same month and on 02/28/13 they made an unauthorized by me they took 350.00 from my account said for early cancel I guess they forgot this letter to them and theirs to me, if any money was owed they owed me 600.00 for the their rep.that broke my flat screen TV, but it is not right for them to steal my money from my account without my permission please people don’t deal with this company, they lie cheat and steal from you and call it legal wish I could make money that way I would be rich.

    I told you the service guy you sent out took ti back with him last yea r2012 I don’t have the equipment he told me he was authroised to and would return it to you all he was a dish serviceman and drove a truck he even unhooked it all and was ale to see the damage done to my RV and seen the 47 IN TV also where it broke the wall plate where it hooked to the cable, so please dont say I owe you you all still owe me for a TV it was only 3 months old and cost me over 600.00 to buy it new and the damages to my wall you have your equipment or they have it in there shop I am not stupid I have seen all the law suits against your company maybe I should report you to the BBB and file a claim your company to cause their is no way I am going to pay you for equipment that your serviceman removed from my trailor.

    Dish removed over 400.oo from my debit card after 6 months I had paid a dish bill for a friend.I do not have dish service and never set up a automated bill payment .I have tried numerous times talked to dish so called executive staff but found them no help ending with a hang up.
    This company is very nonprofessional and in terms a thief !!!!
    I think anyone has a action should go with it, I truly support such a cause
    DISH IS A STEALING COMPANY AND DESERVES TO BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS.

    Our account was canceled 4 April 2013. They withdrew 980 from my account. This was noticed on a Friday. My wife called. The tech she talked to verified equipmenr was returned, gave confirmation number, and said he was reversing th 980. However on Monday they took the money and said they need to verify the equipment. I acknowledge I owe DirecTv the amount of $430. This includes cancelation fee and unpaid bill. They violated their own agreement by withdrawing the whole amount. Per the lease agreement they will will withdraw equipment costs 21 days from cancellation. My final fill is dated 4 April. Add 21 days and that make 25 April. The withdrew the funds on 20 April. On the 21 their employee confirmed equipment was there and DirectV made mistake. Yet I still get the run around from them. I keep getting referred to the agreement (which I met my burden) or to file a dispute (I did). The dispute take up to 10 days to respond plus time to process payment. Why am I waiting on money when equipment is there and they got to greedy too soon?

    I subscribed 6 months ago & it only worked for two weeks.My complaints were ignored.Finally after allowing them to debit the account I signed up with,I closed it.I opened an account at another bank in a different town & 3 months later………..ZAP!They somehow found me & without authorization took a $332.50 draft from a bank that they should know nothing about! This is ABSOLUTE FRAUD!!!!!! I think the banks should contact all dish customers prior to authorizing the transaction. Why do the American People & our government allow these criminals to continue to steal.Dish must be owned by the Mafia!!!!!!!!!

    I too would like to know how to go about joining in on a class action suit against Dish network. They drafted my debit card for 300$ without authorization. I am not even the dish account holder or an authorized user of the account and yet they charged my card for unreturned equipment. Would like to sue for the stress they caused me to go through during this difficult financial time for my family and I.

    I want to join the class actions suit against Dish Network or learn how to start one in Tulsa, OK. I disconnected my service with Dish a month ago and agreed to pay an early termination fee. I contacted Dish after I received a letter stating they were taking $176.00 out of my account. I informed them to take that card out of my file because I had changed banks due to moving and the account was no longer active. The lady was pleasant and stated my card was removed from the file and promised it would not be used. I got an email 3 days later stating they had removed the money from my account . I received an overdraft charge due to no funds being in my bank account. I contacted them and they stated they were allowed to do this and it is in the contract. This is completely wrong and is really going to set me back. I want to sue to get this money back .Can someone please inform me on how to complete this process or join in the current lawsuit.

    Dish network is still up to there same old crap of billing. Just today Dish charged my credit card for an account I closed months ago I also canceled the credit card they had on file the same day I canceled the dish service and still dish charged my new cc account number befor I had even receved my new credit card. I would also like to join in on a law sute agenst Dish. They need to be stoped.

    I would like further information about this matter. I signed up for dish and they promised services which I never gotten and when I dropped them they began to harass me through their collection agency. I told them to back off and leave us alone. As a result I had to cancel a credit card and pay it off. They harass us night and day and even on Sunday. I put them on the Do Not Call list, but they still bother us.

    I have tried everything, including appealing for help to my Senator, Cornyn. He, in turn, referred the entire matter to the FCC. Several weeks later the FCC sent a thick booklet and a cover letter saying it was not in their jurisdiction.

    This is who we pay big taxes and big salaries to in Washington D.C. As far as I’m concerned, they are in cahoots with dish. Take a look at the amount of campaign donations Dish makes and who gets it. Then you’ll understand why nothing is going to be done about Dish’s thievery.

    I am VERY upset with Dish Network. My bill WAS overdue, so two weeks ago I spoke with Dish representative ‘Nick’, who said that he could give me until Feb. 12th to pay my bill in full, without interruption of my service, and that he’d logged it into my account information. SO yesterday morning (Feb. 1st) I wake up to my service being interrupted! I call Dish, and the automated voice tells me that I have to pay $53.27 to get my service back on. My bill was $126.79, so I agreed to pay a portion despite the fact that my agreement with ‘Nick’ obviously fell through. I used my debit card over the phone and was given an ‘Authorization’ number. The money was immediately taken out of my account. This morning I checked my bank account transactions online and found out that Dish processed another transaction for the remainder of my bill, $73.52, using my debit card. If I HAD the money I would have paid the whole bill! But I didn’t and did not ‘authorize’ that second transaction. So I called Dish, and was told by the representative AND her supervisor (again- no one I can later identify!) that my RECEIVER ‘authorized’ the second transaction!!! How is this possible? Will my RECEIVER now take my debit card to Vegas too when I’m not looking??? So not only was my original agreement forgotten (evidently it was NOT logged into my account information by NICK), but this new guy ‘Christopher’ says that he has logged my new info in (hopefully) and that some OTHER supervisor will be sending me confirmation by Weds. that Dish will NEVER be able to make any transaction on my debit card again. We’ll see. I’m not rich and that $73.52 was going to get me through until payday. Thank God that I actually HAD it in the bank, otherwise I would have been charged by my bank and probably Dish for non-sufficient funds. I hope that someone can stop this BAD BUSINESS!

    Have had dish network since February 2014. We noticed we had been charged 58$ a month since November 2013. We disputed this with Dish and were told we had to take care of it through the bank. We did and changed our card number. After receiving our bill for this first month charges for three months of 58$ were transferred to our Dish account for January, February and March from another account. Dish says it knows which account it is being transferred from but cannot divulge the information to law enforcement without a subpoena. I asked why any transfers were made without our consent with no answer. I then requested that any transfers to our account be made with our consent. The bills are supposed to be adjusted, we will see. Obviously there is a problem with their policing of their billing. Watch their charges close. As for the service we have been pleased so far. The advertising that you get the iPad mini for free is misleading, as you don’t get the six month special if you get it, which means you are paying for it.

    I hate that i even signed up with Dish network, I had an account and I lost my job and was recieving unemployment at the time, before the law changed to start cutting my weekly payments down, well anyway i told them that my unemployment was cut off and they discontinued my service along with charging me with the rest of the months that was left for the 12 months, as well as the internet can you believe they sent me a bill for 900.00 dollars, and the bill was never the same. Where do i sign up to get in on this lawsuit? It’s a shame ordinary people can’t afford simple cable without going into hardship just to keep it.

    I hate dish network they stole money from my account without permission for equipment they got back caused me a ulcer in the lining of my stomach, cause the bank to file against me for the 350.00 dollars they took out of an account that was suppose to be closed and had no money in it, their installers are terrible they brake something in your home and dish won’t cover the broken object, they are a nightmare and for me I wish I never would of called them, it was not worth the lost of my wide screen tv or the medical problem they caused me, or the credit problem on my credit report and to add insult to injury they still have a thing on my report that says I owe them money still. I only have one thing to say if you don’t have dish don’t get it they are trouble if they had a credit thing I would put black marks against them and I am sure several other would also join me on it.

    I had the same thing happen to me didn’t even take dish I cancelled the same conversation never even hung up phone and was charged 58.99 and 49.95..Did get 58.99 back but Dish says the 49.95 they are not responsible for because it was infinity dish not them. I told them I only called Dish and I want my money back. Never got it. I want to join this lawsuit if any starts. Absolutely !!!!!!!!!

    I cancelled my subscription with Dish. They wanted to charge me $240 for a early cancellation.
    I asked to see a copy of my contract, and they e-mailed me the contract with my signature obviously forged. They are some special people at Dish. I ponder my next course of action. I am wondering if charges agains them might not be in order. Any thoughts?

    They took money out of my checking account was 450 . Was my ex girlfriends bill but she had used my card to make a payment once . Also my wife now had dish and we switched to cable they took 200 out of her account even tho on the phone they said the contract was up. After we switched and they took the money out we asked them what for and they said we had 4 months left on our service

    My service is terrible it goes out every time it rains or snows. I tried to cancel but they said I owe $800 to cancel. This is crazy, I waited three days and called again they said it would be $580 to cancel. One more time two days later it was $300?

    I just want out, service and tech support terrible, and now I don’t have the fox news channel as well.

    I had been given a diagnosis of dual aortic aneurisms. I had sought to do the right thing and, in the hopefully unlikely event that I should die before I complete my contract, I had canceled my service, sent them back their equipment, explaining to their service rep that I intended to make provisions to pay remaining balance once my money comes in, and the harassments have been relentless from them. They are threatening to use my debit card info to extract unauthorized funds from my account. I had promised to restart my service when I get money in the month of March, nonetheless I pretty sure that if they do attempt a withdrawl, which I haven’t pre authorized, it would be an illegal transaction. Just because it was the instrument of my method of paying them, I am pretty sure that doesn’t give them the right to just use my card number as if it were their own. How can I join the class action lawsuit.

    On March 24th I called Dish to make a payment on my account. The person I spoke with ask me if I wanted to pay using a one time payment method I had used in the past. I was taken aback because I always press no when asked if I want my credit card information stored. So why do you still store it against your customers expressed concern. So I again stated to remove my information. Is this legal? I made it known that if this is happening to me then everyone that is paying with a credit or debit card and think they are using a one time payment are wrong! They are keeping your info anyway unbeknownst to you. Very shady business practices. I will just have to see next month when I pay if it was truly removed. Beware! !!!!!!!

    I too am a victim of Dish Network.They said i canceled the service when i did not it was them.Never contacted me or anything.They went and took $440 out of my checking account and may i add i am ssi and live day by day on my ssi checks as is.But now i cant pay my bills for this month because of there actions.I am in wheelchair and they know it and I may now lose the roof over my head because of them.I am currently trying to get ahold of a lawyer to sue them and have charges against them.I have no food for this month and no money to buy the necessary things i need.Please any one who knows a good lawyer in the New York area please let me know I really need to get this resolved quickly.ty

    I was paying my monthly bill in full every month with my bank debit card. I started noticing that larger amounts were missing from my bank account than was supposed to be. I started investigating and realized that Dish was debiting my account on their own each month in addition to my one time payments I was making every month. So not knowing about all this and being used to dealing with Directv I gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking it was cross billing. So I called customer service to inquire about the double payments and was told that as long as they had my credit card on file that it was (in his words) perfectly legal for them to bill more than once per month even three times in April 2012. He said for example if you pay Aprils bill thats great but we can then bill for May and even June if we see fit. I asked him well whats to stop you from billing my whole two year agreement all in one month with that kind of logic? and he said well we keep billing until your card comes back NSF. And I said then you guys wait like chicken hawks until the next month to do it all over again right? He said well mam we don’t see it that way and I said well I DO!!!! I then asked him why should I have to pay for a service I haven’t even used yet? and he said because your in a two year agreement with us. I finished out my contract and left Dish network and they still billed me $600 for equipment that they say they never received. Yeah right they are nothing but scam artists and crooks and they blatantly steal money from hard working people and the government doesn’t do anything about it. I would like to know about the class action suit as well!!

    I PAID WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A ONE TIME PAYMENT FOR MY SON WHO WAS AWAY FROM HOME ON HIS DISH NETWORK ACCOUNT USING MY DEBIT CARD .I MADE A POINT TO SAY THIS WAS ONLY A ONE TIME PAYMENT AND WAS ASSURED THERE WOULD BE NO OTHER DEBITS FROM MY ACCOUNT BUT THERE WERE AT LEAST SEVEN MORE DEBITS FROM MY ACCOUNT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION WELL OVER 400.00 .EACH TIME I CALLED I WAS TOLD IT WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN BUT IT CONTINUED. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE WHO WAS ABLE TO GET THIS TO STOP BUT IT TOOK SEVERAL MONTHS .I WOULD NEVER DEAL WITH DISH NOR WOULD I EVER RECCOMEND THEM TO ANYONE. IF THER IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT PLEASE LET ME KNOW SO MAYBE I CAN RECOUP MY MONEY WHICH WAS TAKEN UNLAWFULLY BY THEM.

    I have been a customer since 01/2000. In December, 2014 DISH sent me a notice that my receivers were obsolete and needed to be replaced at no cost to me. B/S! I have had trouble with billing ever since. Numerous phone calls and letters written. I too would like to join this class action suit.

    Wondering if anyone has been charged $19.99 monthly for a Lifestyles Plan which was supposed to give discounts on services, movie tickets, etc?????? I JUST found out that Dish Network started deducting this amount from my elderly fathers account in 2006!!!!!!!! Now, late 2015 it is still being deducted!!!!! Talk about a SCAM!!!!!!!!! Over $2300 has been removed from his account because he didn’t “send a card back in 30 days after he got service.” On the bank statements it says —health plan!!!!!!! NEVER would I have dish network or direct TV!!!!!!!!!
