My son was in a terrible single car accident where my 2007 impala was totaled. Police report said car swerved off road hit a drainage ditch on side of road went airborne hit an electric pole and tumbled several times. Not drinking or falling asleep, it was his normal routine going home. He doesn’t remember anything. Was in intensive care for a week. Previously I have taken Car to dealership with many issues. had pinion rod replaced twice, bearings popping on steering. Said they replaced, rear defroster, tire warning lights always on, cracked rim, bought new tires. Looked at maintenance records some repairs done under warranty. Some I paid for, kept great routine oil maintenance. Dealership never did recall on steering during this time. I have a feeling steering or brakes went bad. I want to be included in this lawsuit.. doing my own investigative work. Calling lawyer next. Keep me posted.

I Have a 2008 chevy impala and noticed my pass rear tire is leaning severly with the top inward and bottom out. Most of the weight is riding on about 2 inches of rubber and there is a dark black line that’snearly bald. I have had the for almost 2 years and just noticed the wheel. I went on line to look up about anlingment and found this article and decided to tell my problem. Im going to call the dealer where I purchased the car, and take it from there.

  • Daniel Botzenhart December 18, 2011, 12:05 am

I think chevy should have a recall and fix my car no charge. about the tires they should compensate some moneys

  • Joshua Somers December 26, 2011, 11:21 am

I purchased a 2007 Chev Impala from Carmax – The car had 24000 miles – Carmax replaced the rear tires with new tires. I had to replace the tires with only 22,000 miles on the new tires. They should last at least 40,000 to 60,000 miles. I would would like to join the suit.

  • Joshua Somers December 26, 2011, 11:23 am

I also forgot to say the tires were bulging on the inside and fabric on the inside of the tire was busting through. This was also on the rear tires

  • Alex Bush January 10, 2012, 12:10 pm

I also recently purchased a 2007 Impala from CarMax and within 12,000 miles the brand new rear tires were worn down to the steel bands on the inside edge. Please contact me to become involved in lawsuit.

My wife has an 07 impala that she bought in 2009. Had new set put on then and within a year had to replace the original back two tires from that set. In July 11 she replaced the rear tires once again and just today we had to replace them again. Rear tires were completely worn on the insides but had little to no wear on the outsides. Please contact me to become involved in lawsuit.

I have a 2007 Chevy Impala. Within the first year I had the vehicle I spent several hundred dollars on tires for it. The back two tires always wore on the inside. I absolutly hated driving on ice and snow. It felt like I had no control of the vehicle. After 4 years of replacing endless tires and taking it in for multiple allignments an honest mechanic told me that the spindle rods were bad and that hundreds of Impalas have had this problem. I paid the $900.00 once again for new tires, spindle rods and whatever else came with the whole mess. I have not had one bit of trouble since then. I just wish GM would own up to the issues and make it right with the consumers like they did with the police Impalas.

I just purchased a 2007 chevy impala ltz. The dealer sold me this car knowing ot had all of these problems. I have had the car three days and the transmission has slipped twice and the car shakes like crazy. He will not even return any of my calls. I did not have a extended warranty but he had to know of the problems prior to selling me this car. I want in on the class action lawsuit. I can be reached at 504-319-8029.

I manage a fleet and have over 200 of these to keep up with, they range from 2007’s to 2010’s, the Impalas have been very disapointing. This problem persists on the 2010 Impala’s also; to include head gaskets, itermediate steering shafts, wheel hub assemblys, intake gaskests, door lock actuaters, brake rotors, BCM’s, radios and elecrtical issues, just to name a few. GM should be held responsible for making the corrections on the vehicles. Coorporate does not acknowledge the problem.

We would like to join the case act law suit also. Can anyone tell us how to do this. We also are having problems with our chevy. Please let us know how to do this.

  • jason baker January 28, 2012, 3:08 pm

my father has got a 2007 impala he has about a 2 hour drive to work every day and about every two months he has to replace the rear tires on his car to me i dont think this is normale cause the inside tread is gone the belts showing and the out side tread is still at 75 to 85% tread left on it .is there anything that we could do to change this ? and if so what ? and thanks for your time

  • timothy lawless January 28, 2012, 3:32 pm

I bought a new 2008 impala and had severely worn rear tires that wore down at an angle causing a flat tire around 20000 miles. I needed new tires and my rear suspension to be realigned at my cost. The chevy dealer said I hit a pothole causing my alignment problems.

  • James Cappello January 30, 2012, 12:28 pm

I have a 2008 Impala SS. I’ve gone through tires in literally 7000-8000 miles. How can I join the suit?

    Thanks

I have a 2007 impala. When i went to get my tires rotated i was told that my tires were wearing out on the inside. They only have 20,00 miles on then.I went to a web site and found out about the defect in the wheel spindle rods.can you tell me how i can get in on the class action suit?Thank you for your time.

  • Shannon Neal-Watson February 8, 2012, 1:14 am

I thought I was going crazy. Dec. 2010 I was driving home and it was raining and i almost ran into a ditch. I got off the highway and went straight to Frireston bought new tire at 7am. A year later im in need of new tire. WTH! I would like to join the Class action suit also. So tire of this. Stone Mountain, GA

  • Peter Medina February 8, 2012, 5:46 pm

I would like to get in this lawsuit as well. I have a 2007 Impala SS and the rear tire on the pass side was down to the steel belting on the inside of the tire. I took it back to the dealer because I knew of this issue and they said there was nothing wrong with the spindle rods. They said they would realign and fix my car as long as I purchased new tires. I went ahead and purchased the tires and dropped the car off at the dealer. It took them 4 days to get it back to me and they said it was all fixed.

Fast forward to this month. I noticed that the rear tires looked like they were out of alignment and I saw that the inside of the tires were wearing more then the rest of the tire. This time I took it to a local shop so they could check it out. The entire car was out of alignment, bad too!!! The shop needed to use a shim kit to properly align the car, it cost me $181 to fix the issue the dealer said they did a few months back. Needless to say I reported this to Chevrolet customer service and will be fighting to get my money back for the alignment and the tires they prematurely ruined by not doing a proper alignment when they had it in their shop.

Someone please tell me how to get in on this lawsuit. GM knowingly put faulty parts on the Impala and the customer has to suffer?? I think not..

    • diane lombard May 16, 2012, 7:28 pm

This whole situation is frustrating. No one is doing a thing to resolve this issue. This is so wrong.

  • Debbie Nacke February 8, 2012, 6:54 pm

problems rear tiers wearing out on inside please include me in the law suit

  • andy jackson February 12, 2012, 11:09 am

I am dealing with a ton of alignment issues with my 2007 impala it is ruining tires like crazy and I have had it aligned twice by Les schwab. The car only has 42,000 miles on it and I have an appointment for it in two days to have a camber correction kit put on to try and get the alignment right. The reason for the kit is because it is wearing the inside edge of the tires. I have a 1979 ford 4 x 4 F-250 with 172,000 miles on it that has never done any of this to my tires. Thanks a lot Chevy for making such a pile! Also I have had a bunch of computer problems with this impala!

  • andy jackson February 12, 2012, 11:13 am

I would like to be in this lawsuit.

  • andy jackson February 12, 2012, 11:23 am

GM has lost me as a customer for life.

  • Robert Theriault February 16, 2012, 10:02 am

  • daniel cieszynski February 21, 2012, 3:33 pm

I have a 2008 impala ss. i just saw this website and went out to check on my tires. We had the problem with the swaying of the car. The inside back tires are almost down to the wire!!!!! I am pissed off. Plus it is making a horrible whining noise. It only has 47,000 miles on it. freaking tires are expensive for this car. I do NOT like having to get new ones when these tires should have not worn like this. I am absolutley joining the lawsuit. If anyone can tell me how I would greatley appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Don wellins February 23, 2012, 9:27 pm

I to have. 07 impala I bought 8 months ago I just went for the second time to replace the rear brand new tires I would love nothing more then to join this lawsuit Im dumping way to much money on the car and have to pay for a reAr allinement 180.

  • Jason March 4, 2012, 9:16 am

I am going through the same thing with the rear tire wear. Took the car in for service and the advisor came to me and stated that the car needs two tires and an alignment and also a “kit” to correct the problem. To have the spindle rods replaced i’m looking at around $800 by the time its all done. 2008 Impala SS with 45k miles. Bought in July with 36k miles.

  • Thomas Hunter March 8, 2012, 12:36 pm

Please email me the lawsuit having the same problem 07 impala

  • Ed March 26, 2012, 7:23 pm

Our 2008 Impala has worn two sets of new tires on the inside rear. The camber is off. There is no adjustment, some dealers have mickey moused the repair by grinding the struts. The aftermarket has just come out with cam bolts for the Impala for around $25. I ordered them and another set of rear tires, we’ll see how good it works. Chevy stonewalled us till the warranty expired. This was a lemon law buy back car we eventually found out. I found the original owners name in the owners manual. He said his dealer accused him of hitting a curb and ruining the alignment. He was pissed off returned the vehicle after the number of repairs allowed him to do so.

    • Kevin October 24, 2012, 3:49 am

Ed, was wondering if the aftermarket cam bolts fixed your Impala? I have a 2010 thats eating me alive with tires, if it helped could you tell me where you got the cam bolts I would like to order them. Thanks!

  • C Tucker March 27, 2012, 11:00 pm

I am having the same problem as everybody else. Tires wear extremely fast on the inside. The last set only lasted 6 months. I had a friend who is a mechanic look at the alignment and it is so far off that a kit cannot be used to correct it. From what I have researched the spindles need to be replaced. GM was aware of this issue a long time ago and they put out a technical bulletin to repair the police cars but screwed the public. This is very dangerous and is the absolutely the scariest car I have ever driven in the winter. I live in Idaho and I know how to drive on the snow and ice but this car scares me. I definitely want added to this suit. GM should have done a recall.

  • Kirk Schaeffer March 29, 2012, 8:13 pm

I want to join this law suit. I have a 2008 Impala that is prematurely destroying tires. There is also a clunking noise coming out of the back end. Maybe this is the spindle issue others are referring to? Three times now I have had to repair the wires on the console shift. The first two times the wires broke, I could not get the car out of gear and the 3rd time the wire broke I could not get the keys out of the ignition. The car only has 50k miles on it. If GM does not do something about this, my next car will be a Ford.

  • Tom Franczyk April 4, 2012, 10:16 am

My 2008 Impala now has 33K on it and it’s halfway through the third set of tires. It’s unbelievable! No one had ever told me others were having problems or that there’s a fix. I was just told that it needed alignments and new tires all the time. Is there a fix or a recall?

  • Shannon Johnson April 4, 2012, 10:47 pm

I would like to join this class action as well. I have a 2008 Impala and notice the swaying and excessive wear on tires. I’ve also experienced the keys getting stuck in the ignition which was scary! Currently I’m trying to figure out why the service traction control and ABS light is on. The tractuin control is not even on…?

  • william beckman April 4, 2012, 11:47 pm

I want to join the lawsuit have a 2008 impala and have changed the tires twice already with in one year. Car continues to sway in all weather conditions. Belts were showing on both rear tires and tires were 85,000 mile tires and I had not even put 30,000 miles on them and rotate them after every 3,ooo miles.

  • Pat Jardon April 6, 2012, 10:04 am

I have the same issues with my 08, going on my second set for tires, @ 70k and need new one now,the car only had 20k to start with. how do i join the lawsuit?

  • Cindy April 7, 2012, 1:15 pm

Add me to the lawsuit, too. I am putting on my 2nd set of tires now at 50,000 miles. Tirekingdom is changing the struts and will align the car. this is costing me $1,500… Yikes

  • Earl Luttrell April 21, 2012, 8:21 pm

I bought a 2008 Chevy Imapal LS and replaced the original tires at 36,00 miles I bought a new set of tires and have a bit over 50,000 miles on them with not problems. I do need to buy 4 new tires but that is because of wear, even wear at that.

  • Seth Voelker April 22, 2012, 7:27 am

I have a 2008 Impala LTZ that has the same problem. I put new tires on it a little over a year ago. I have uneven wear on them all around. When I hit bumps or rough road the back of the car jumps around. In the snow the back end of the car will sway back and forth. The only way I can keep it on the road is to keep the foot on the accelerator so the car keeps pulling itself forward. I also had an issue on a section of interstate when it was raining. The rear end was so squirrely that I pulled over on the side of the road because I thought I had a flat tire. Chevrolet really needs to fix this problem. It is very dangerous as well as expensive. I would also like to join the lawsuit.

  • Kernita Brewster April 26, 2012, 12:11 pm

I too have had the same issue with my car I am in need of new tires, just had new tires last yr and I now need a wheel alignment.

I would like to be apart of the class action law suit

    • Kernita Brewster April 26, 2012, 12:12 pm

I failed to provide my car info (2007 Chevy Impala)

  • Patsy Cantrell May 4, 2012, 8:03 am

I purchased a new 2008 Chevy Impala, it has about 32,000 miles on it and I was just told that the inside of rear tires are showing a 2-3 inch strip of very excessive wear. I now have to replace the tires. My experience with previous front wheel drive cars/vans has been that I would have to replace the front tires at twice the rate of replacing the rear tires.

  • THOMAS BELL May 7, 2012, 6:51 pm

PURCHASED A 2008 IMPALA ON 9/25/2011 FROM PARK AUTO MALL OUT OF PINELLAS PARK FLORIDA. I HAD TO TAKE THE CAR BACK 3 TIMES IN THE FIRST 30 DAYS DUE TO CAR SHAKING. OVER THE 3 TIMES, THE MECHANICS CHANGED BOTH REAR RIMS, ADDED NEW REAR TIRES, ADDED WHEEL ALIGNMENT. GUESS WHAT, MY REAR TIRES ARE WORN ON THE INSIDE, MY REAR TIRES SLANT INWARD, MY CAR SHAKES, AND MY CAR BOTTOMS OUT WHEN I GO OVER A SMALL BUMP LEAVING ME TO THINK THE STRUTS ARE BAD ALSO. I’M SO DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE I HAVEN’T HAD THE CAR 1 YEAR AND ALL THESE PROBLEMS HAVE OCCURRED. I REALLY WANT TO JOIN THE SUIT. I ALSO PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WHICH I CALLED THEM AND THEY SAID THEY DON’T COVER THIS PARTS. PLEASE HELP!

  • Ben Dunmire May 8, 2012, 5:17 pm

I purchased a 2007 Chevy Impala last March Only put 12000 Miles on it and had to replace the rear tires already. Found this online after having two different people look at it say they think it is in the strut. So I’m gonna replace the defective parts myself and drive the car untill it dies and then I will buy a Ford or a Chrysller. Oh the part # you will need if would like to do this your self is 19208347. Oh and the stainless steel exhaust that was on it I had to replace also because the mufflers rotted out. GM if you want to stay in buisness you need to take of your coustomers!

  • Jarred May 18, 2012, 7:39 am

How does a person join in on this lawsuit? I have a 2008 impala. Worst car I have ever owned!!!! Way too many problems to list including tires and the front end shaking severely when i apply the brakes. I thought I needed a brake job and new rotors, but they are both just fine. Don’t know where to go from here……

  • Alan & Veronica Dobbs May 18, 2012, 9:36 pm

We have a 2008 Chevy Impala. Both back tires are worn. Passenger side is worn on outside edge, tread is completely gone. Driver side is worn very irratically. They were new in Nov, 2011. Please add us to the list.

  • Raymond "Marty" Bridges May 19, 2012, 11:07 pm

I bought my 2007 Impala when they first came out. Ive only put 64,000 miles on it. Ive already had to replace my tires 2-3 times. Also, I have experienced my car feeling like it wants to pull to the right when driving. Especially when I hit small bumps in the road or when its raining. Ive had my engine rebuilt twice for bad oil consumption. I don’t now if anyone has dealt with their car jerking or feels like their transmission is slipping. Its either when I take off or get up to 50mph. The car jerks when it happens. Ive talked to both GM and my dealer ship. They told me that nothing would be held under warranty because they were unable to feel it when test driving it. Today, my car decided to die on me. Battery Dead? Nope, I had my cousin try to give me a jump and nothing. It feels like its trying to turnover but wont. Possibly fuel injection issues? I dont know; however, I do know that I want to join this lawsuit, because Ive worked so hard to purchase my dream car but to keep paying so much money to keep having things slap me in my face, I Dont Think So. I honestly feel like these cars are a liability and I definately feel like they are putting not just me but my families life at risk. Who do I need to talk to about getting involved???

  • Regina May 25, 2012, 9:54 am

I bought my 2008 Impala LT brand new in June, 2007. I am on my 3rd set of tires! My car has 60,000 miles on it! I have been aware of this problem since the 1st year I purchased this car. I took it back to Harris Chevrolet and they told me I must have hit some large holes and it was out of alignment, which I had to buy new tires and have it aligned. 1-1/2 years later, same thing, recently I had to replace tires again and another alignment! I want to be included in this lawsuit also! My father retired from GM, therefore, I have always driven a GM made car, but if this problem does not get corrected, I will never purchase another GM made vehicle! Has anyone had trouble with this car using oil? The dealership indicated this is normal too! I have never had a car use oil. The first few months of owning the car I had the oil changed when the light came on to change oil, I was driving the car to Jacksonville, FL and couple hours away from my destination, my oil light came on, I stopped and checked the oil and nothing showed on the stick. Black sediment is always showing by the tail pipe, per the dealership, this is normal for this car to use a few qts of oil between changes!!! They also indicated to make sure the oil is changed every 3000 miles and not to go over on these cars. I am very disappointed with these problems as I love how the car looks!

I HAD TO PUT SPINDALS ON JUST TO GET THE IMPALA (2007) TO RUN STRAIGHT…3 SETS OF TIRES IS STARTING TO BE ON THE PRICEY SIDE….ALIGNMENT THREE TIMES IS A PAIN THAT I DON’T NEED. I’M GLAD THEY MADE THE [POLICE CARS SAFER BUT WHAT ABOUT THE PUBLIC WHERE THEY MAKE THEIR MONEY.

  • timothy h wynn July 15, 2012, 10:05 pm

love my car, but in the past 5yrs had to buy 3 sets of tires!! This i not right!! I have 2 college kids and having to buy tires every 6 months is crazy!!

  • Mike Jacoby July 21, 2012, 1:48 pm

I have just over 50,000 miles on my 2008 Impala and have already had to replace the brake rotors and now I need to replace the rear stabilizer bars because they rattle badly when driving over the slightest bump and I noticed that my rear tires are toeing inwards at the top. This was my first new car in 30 years and it’s a piece of crap. The blind spots are horribly large and many times while driving on the freeway I have almost sideswiped another vehicle because I didn’t see it in any of my mirrors. I have to not only use the mirrors, but I have to turn my head in each direction and look over my shoulder to make sure the coast is clear. I won’t buy another Chevy if this is how they build them.

  • Phyllis July 26, 2012, 2:51 pm

I am a owner of a 2008 Impala. I purchased the 2008 Impala in September 2008 and had to return to the dealership because the tires was unbalanced and constantly losing air not knowing that the problem was deeper than I imaged. I have had the tires replaced numerous times, the control arm fixed, wheel alignment and is still experiencing major problems with the 2008 Impala. It is a shame that GM did not informed their loyal customers of the problems with the Impala’s. I think people would have chose a different vehicle.

  • Jack Richardson July 27, 2012, 1:19 pm

My 2007 Impala made junk out of a set of tires in 7,000 miles.

First 2 times they replaced a tire each of the two times i had a technician ride with me when i went to pick up the car the second time he said all was normal blah blah. went back third time to have service manager ride with me and he said “all was normal” blah blah blah. Went back today for the fourth time and got bs blah blah blah and that they will fix it. Picked it up and as soon as i started driving.whata you know still shimmy from the rear. I bought a 2007 Impala from off lease (used). It now has approx. 76,000 miles and has gone through 2 sets of tires in addition to those that came on the car. Thanks to a honest and helpful Midas manager I was made aware of the problem with the Rear Spindle Rods, wheel alignment, and tire wear that results. I have a set of tires that have less than 10,000 miles on them and the steel belts are beginning to show on the inside of the tires I just rotated from the rear. This is dangerous and shows GM’s attitude toward their responsibility for their vehicles. This is really sad! I just purchased a new Chevy before I knew this. It makes me want to buy a foreign car, even though I never have in 30 years of buying cars. GM needs to take care of these cars and reimburse owners for tires and other damage to their cars!

  • Robert Dunn August 10, 2012, 4:01 pm

I have a 2007 impala, same thing rear tires wearing out, getting no help from GM. This is how they treat the people that bailed them out. Wonder why they went bankrupt? their cars suck!!!! Will never buy another GM car again>

  • Trudy August 13, 2012, 3:42 am

We have had our crap 2007 Impala since Nov 2007. And in that time period we have bought…6 full sets of tires. And there has been a handful of times when money was tight and we bought only 1 or 2 tires at a time. so about 24-32 tires have gone to waste on this car. And I won’t even get started on shipping charges!! Being stationed in Italy, paying about $450 each set plus about $100 shipping…each time! That was 4 years living there and now being stationed back in the states 4 months ago…we’ve bout yet another set(just bought one set about 6 months ago

I have an 07 Impala and am experiencing the same issues. The rear tires were worn on the inside so much after about 35,000 miles the metal bands were showing and the tires couldn’t keep air pressure. The car also handles terribly in the snow. The back end sways all over the road in any snowy conditions. I’ve replaced tires and taken it in for alignment and even tried winter tires just so I’m not terrified to drive in the snow, and every winter it’s the same poor handling. I’m going to just go ahead and replace the spindle rods myself before I crash the vehicle this winter. I definately don’t feel safe in the snow in this car.

    • Jason August 24, 2012, 3:04 pm

I finally found a TSB that doesn’t relate to the police version of the vehicle. TSB # PIC-5406. I called up the dealer and the guy knew of the problem immediately and offered a fix for it. It sounds like the spindle rods do not need to be replaced, they have a work around. It sounds like Chevy might be starting to acknowledge the problem.

  • Jimmy August 26, 2012, 1:56 am

My 08 impala is doing the same eating up tires , have had 3 alignments , new rotors, all kinds of front end work , still shakes when driving. please tell me how to join lawsuit.

  • Allen Mallett August 26, 2012, 6:07 pm

  • Rob August 28, 2012, 11:19 pm

I have the same problem. Have to replace my tires every 25000 miles.

  • Deanna September 13, 2012, 9:47 pm

Thanks to whoever mentioned the lawyers handling this suit hopefully we will all have resolution. I bought my 2008 chevy impala ss in feb 2009 with 10,000 miles on it looked like brand new tires w/i 2 months i went back to dearlership i won’t mention the name it doesn’t matter they went out of business 4 months after my purchase but after 2 months car was undrivable the back 2 tires were trash belts showing. I demanded new tires i didn’t get them had to purchase myself and get the car aligned this wasn’t even a full 2 mnths after purchase they said it’s my fault car was misaligned, yet the holes in that parking lot were bigger than car was. That was just the beginning I had this car in shop every 6 mnths at least supposed to have a rental never did the car was under warranty. I was lied to taken advantage of I knew something was very wrong with this car. Finally in Sept. 2011 i drove same way i always go over a curvy hill which i never went very fast over you cannot see if anyone is coming on your side car was thrown off left side of road i was on the right side of road no reason no warning i did get the car back onto the road straight on my side of the road i’m thinking ok i’m good not touching brake nor gas car goes sideways in road in just couple seconds. Then I know i’m wrecking & i’m thinking which way is the best way to wreck coming up on almost left hand turn curve semi’s on this road constantly i’m in the way, bank on one side rolling the car if i go straight so i’m thinking maybe i can get off rt side of road turn it uphill to stop it but that didn’t work either it took off in grass it was a little wet hit 3 trees head on my daughter was with me also to this day she doesn’t want to drive because of this pc of crap car. I had just gotten my car out of the shop 1 1/2 wk prior to this for all kinds of front end parts wheel bearings all sorts of things and yes i needed 4 new tires again which i couldn’t afford again these are 18″ i bet the tire co. love gm. I was told by a mechanic after this that spindle rod was probably the cause of the accident because it was just in the shop & sitting on the floor jacks it probably bent it just enough to wreck me. Thanks GM my daughter is 19 now and will not drive. I have been driving almost 40 yrs this was caused by the car not I. I’ve never driven a car worse than that impala in all my years I did like chevys had chevys prior will never buy another chevy of any kind. I’m ford all the way now at least they fix things without arguing. Please everyone who owns these Impalas I don’t want to tell you to sell because then someone else has the same problem but please be careful I consider them a Death trap and feel lucky my Daughter & I are alive no Thanks To GM!

  • Sherry October 8, 2012, 3:32 pm

I purchased a 2008 impala in May of this year and it only had 35,000 miles . I am having the same problem as everyone else. All over the roads when they are the least bit wet, tires wearing out and the rear tires stick out unevenly on each side. Can someone let me know how to join the lawsuit or get in touch with chevrolet to fix problem?

  • Fawn Waack October 13, 2012, 2:36 pm

Want to be a part of this class action. I own a 2008 impala ss, and so far I have had to replace rotors, and brake pads. I recently had my rear brakes done and now I have a right rear wheel that tilts inwards and the car is hard to control. I need new tireas also, but wonder if I should spend the money considering all the issues going on with this car. Please include me in law suit. I paid way to much for this car to have so much crab not working!!!!

  • Michael McCullough October 14, 2012, 10:40 am

I bought my 08 Impala SS brand new Apr 2008. Still have front tires from purchase of vehicle. I am going on my 3rd pair of rear tires in 13 months. My car only has 60k miles and the latest rear tires I replaced only had 15k miles on them. I bought 2 rear tires Aug. 2011. By July 2012 and only 12k miles, the inside of the rear tires were completely bald. Replaced rear struts, got alignment done and went and got 2 more tires just yesterday. While I was driving on the freeway doing 65 mph I smelled burning rubber. I got out to check the rear tires, and to my complete displeasure they have already been chewed up about 1/2 inch down and about 2 inches wide on the inside of my 6 HOUR OLD TIRES!!!! I can feel my strut cup resting on the tires and cant even get a finger between it and the tire. It should be at least another inch off the tire. I found the tsb # 08032a that gm issued for police vehicles. The suspension on consumer and police vehicles are identical. I don’ t know why consumers are being excluded. I would like to be included in the lawsuit. If anyone can give me some info on how it would be greatly appreciated.

  • Thomas Portuallo November 8, 2012, 8:10 am

I have a 2008 Chvrolet Impala and share the same issues. What can I do about this? Where is the lawsuit? How do I join?

  • Diego November 14, 2012, 7:04 pm

    2008 impala ss 35,340 miles

I’m going thru the same problem as everyone else,Rear Spindle Rods, Wheel Alignment & Tire Wear. local auto service told me the front SUSPENSION is really bad and the guys from the shop told me most 2007-2008 impala have really bad suspension . I search around the web and found GM has a recall (recall id: 12v377000) for this suspension problem. My Local chevy dealer keep saying they do not know anything about such problem so i decide to call GM and they said recall was only for police cars cause of heavy engines/power but my ss has more power than those police cars so it should be right for them to fix all this premature problems that impalas keep having.

    info for this class action

  • Gary Roberts November 30, 2012, 2:46 pm

I recently had to buy 2 new rear tires for my 2008 Chevy Impala. I also had to get the rear wheels aligned. My rear tires were way out of alignment with the top in and bottom out. The tires I had to replace were only about 12 to 18 months old. I also want to join this lawsuit.

  • Dorothy Roberts November 30, 2012, 2:48 pm

My son recently had to replace the rear tires on his 2008 Impala because of alignment problems. After he replaced his tires he also looked at mine and discovered that my tires were out of alignment the same as his and my tires are in bad need of replacement also. I too want to join this lawsuit.

  • Gary Roberts November 30, 2012, 2:51 pm

I had to replace the rear tires on my 2008 Chevy Impala because of bad wheel alignment which caused excessive wear on the inside tread of the tires. I want to also join this lawsuit.

  • Christina December 2, 2012, 7:23 pm

I have owned a 2007 chevy impala since 2009. I am going on my 4th set of tires. Atleast these tires got almost 20,000 miles out of them. Not bad considering its a 60,000 mile tire (being sarcastic). At almost $200.00 a tire Im about fed up with this car. If its not dry out I hate driving this car. I dont feel safe.

  • Mark Ladish December 10, 2012, 8:56 pm

We own a 07 Impala which was bought used with worn tires at 58 K miles. New tires(70 K) and alignment done at 59 K miles. Both rear tires are worn to steel belts on the inside at 63 K miles. Impala cannot be controlled over 50 mph. Extremely dangerous to drive. Lucky we are going to mechanic instead of a hospital. The best use for this Impala is a boat anchor. I also want to join this lawsuit and go on record that the rear wheel alignment problem must be addressed and corrected by GM. How many GM executives are driving this vehicle ?

    • wally rowland December 19, 2012, 10:05 pm

My 2007 Impala SS ruined a $1,200.00 set of michelins in less than 10,000 miles. Rear tires bald on inside edges.

  • James Delaney February 24, 2013, 5:42 pm

I don’t think I need to add anything, it has all been said. do want to be added to the law suit. come on GM fess up and be responsible. pay for your mistakes, not overpay your executives.
    thank you

  • Erika Muldrow March 6, 2013, 7:08 pm

This is my third time replacing tire becuase of the suspension. Is it too late for me to join the law suit. I will not purchase any more cars form GMAC.

  • Laura March 20, 2013, 6:28 pm

I own a 2007 Chevy Impala and have spent thousands of dollars replacing tires over the past 6 years. I have experienced many problems with this car, and now I notice a funny noise going on with the steering (I read online something regarding recalls for that too)
I would like to join the class action lawsuit on 2007 Chevy Impalas for the spindle rods. Never was I informed about this problem or asked to be part of the class action suit.
Do I need to contact a lawyer to join the suit?
    Please advise…

  • Laura March 20, 2013, 6:38 pm

I have also had the SAME problem with the tires and have spent thousands of dollars on tire replacement! I definitely want to join in with this class action lawsuit. I have owned my 2007 chevy Impala since Dec. 2007.

  • Mike April 7, 2013, 9:12 am

I also have had the same problem. I own a 2008 Chevy Impala LT. Inner 2-3 inches of rear tires completely worn and rest of tires have plenty of tread, less then 2 years old. This should not happen.

  • Beverly Schlau April 8, 2013, 10:07 am

I had an 08 Impala that did this. After buying new tires, we traded in on a 2012 Impala. It has 22,000 miles on it. The inside rear tires are bald. Will have to get new tires for 2012. Please keep me informed on how this Class Action Suit goes.

  • RENEE April 8, 2013, 2:49 pm

  • Jack Shoemaker April 25, 2013, 4:57 pm

I just came from dealership with estmate of $600 for spindles for 2008 Impala. Also had to buy 4 new tires, rear of car was ALL over the road when pavement was wet, had very good tires with 80,000 guarntee and had 35,000 miles on them and they are shot. Steel belts showing. Would not let my wife drive it anymore because it slid all over road. No more chev. for me and my relatives work for GMC. What a Joke, where is our Gov. when we need them. A REAL SAFTEY ISSUE.

  • Clifton Smith April 29, 2013, 12:21 pm

I too am unhappy with my 2008 Chevy impala. I have to replace my tires once a year it seems like. The front two tires are the ones that seems to have the issue. Count me in on the lawsuit.

  • Neil Madison June 2, 2013, 10:19 pm

I own a 2007 and 2008 impala and they bothey wear out tires premarturely on the back inside tread and the tires don’t come cheap had the alignment checked several times only to find it was at specs or very close never have I been told it was rear spindle rods by any alignment place or dealer but that is all it can be. the cars always feel like there gonna fly away on wet or snowy roads. why is gm dragging there feet on this issue they charge a very nice price for these cars in the beginning. WTF

  • darrryl Gulbranson September 7, 2013, 10:16 pm

Bought a 2008 Impala LT in October 2008.Now have 72000 miles and have experienced the same treadware pattern resulting in my having to buy new expensive tires twice and am now facing the same problem. No one ever mentioned to me or hinted at what the problem is they just advised me as to some general things which migft help.My latest estimate for repairs plus two new tires for the back was in excess of
$1500.I definitely want to fix this problem.Other than that the car has been OK.Please add me to the putators.

  • Connie Boyer October 14, 2013, 6:33 am

I have an 07 Impala and am experiencing the same issues. The rear tires are worn on the inside, with under 35,000 miles the metal bands are showing and the tires don’t keep air pressure. Very disappointed in GM. Always took it to the dealer for routine maint. I would like to join the class action lawsuit on 2007 Chevy Impalas for the spindle rods.

  • K C STURGEON November 10, 2013, 8:25 pm

I too, maybe interested in joining this lawsuit. I put 80,000 mile ties on my car and 23,000 mile later the steel is showing!!

  • chris February 21, 2014, 1:15 am

if GM wants to try to hide behind the Bankruptcy saying these cars were built by the “old GM” I hope the judge hearing this case throws that argument right out the window, GM just recalled a bunch of Chevy Cobalts and Pontiac G-5’s and they were built by the “old GM”!!! GM should fix these cars period, I was told by my Chevrolet dealer the parts are available and it will cost me 675.00 including an alignment which I probably will do because at 800-1000 every year for new tires is ridiculous!!

  • John Tellinghuisen May 1, 2014, 9:56 pm

Have 2008 Impala SS. Am having 3rd set of tires installed (not incl. originals). Most recent set was rated for 60K mi. Mfg rating means nothing as these cars go through tires at about 20K miles. I have always bought American cars and mainly GM products. Right now Nisson Maximas are looking really good. I have had it with American automakers. Always have had dealer rotate tires with oil changes. Don’t know why I wasn’t told that steel belt was showing on one of rear tires this time or that inside of tires were wearing so badly. Last Certified Service Multi-Point inspection did not not any abnormal tire wear, I just happened to check them (luckily).

  • ERIC LEE June 10, 2014, 10:29 am

MY 2007 IMPALA WHEELS ARE GETTING REPLACED EVERY 6 MONTHS DUE TO HOW MUCH I TRAVEL BECAUSE I HAVE A CLEANING BUSINESS. JUST IN’ST MAKING ANY SENCE!!!

  • Garry Harris June 29, 2014, 1:20 pm

I Bought a 2007 Impala ls, from a used car dealer, this car was a Government car the dealer bought at Auction, and resold to me. I have the same problem with the rear spindle rods or spindles wearing the tires out in about 10,000 miles, this burns my A** up how GM can get away with thievery and manipulation of the fact, and after we bailed there A** out, we should of let them go bankrupt, they make way too much money on Plastic pieces of sh** cars. Now we all know about this Lawsuit so when the FU** is someone going to do something about it.
I have a Bulletin from GM that I found onLine from another source that Quotes that Police and non police impalas with this problem should be fixed. this bulletin is #PIC5406A and superseded and disregarded # PIC5406, so does this mean if I take my impala to the dealer they will fix the problem for free, Oh and this is document #2748077, so any GM dealer should be able to pull this up on there computers, has anyone done this. Garry

  • Archie Evans July 11, 2014, 8:14 am

I think the law suit is in order. I have a 07 chev impala and I’ve been wondering why it kept eating up tires til recently I put a set of 65,000 mile tires on it and the back tires wore out in l year 21,000 miles. Even when it was brand new it would wear the inside threads out with rotating .

  • Mr/Mrs Millemon July 28, 2014, 7:25 pm

Grrr I am so disappointed in GM that they could send us owners a postcard of this issue with 2007 2008 Chevy Impala LTZ we are on our 3rd set. of brand new tires.
and searching why? I found the Class Action Lawsuit (old one) they replaced all the police car tires up till 2009.
we have been a Generations of Chevy owners.
and like I said before what happened to Made in America Built with Pride to last. heartbeat of America
    :/
    Thank You Kindlys Gods Blessings.

  • Glenda August 7, 2014, 9:10 pm

I purchased a 2007 impala in 2012 with only 26000 miles it. I have had problems when I drive in the rain or snow, feels like I have no control. Several times I thought I was going to slide right into the ditch or on coming traffic. I had to slow down to 35 mph on the interstate one time cause it scared the crap out of me. I have driven in this type of weather all my life and have never been as afraid as I am to drive this car. After replacing the front two tires cause they were bald on the inside and a tire rod the car still continues to have issues with loss of sudden control. If it is a lawsuit that gets GM to fix this issue then add me to your list.

  • Dennis August 13, 2014, 1:15 pm

My 2008 Impala has the same tire wear problem on the inside of the tires, left rear the worst. The only reason this has not caused a blowout is because I keep an eye on the left side tires, WHICH ALWAYS WEAR OUT EARLY. I have bought MANY GM cars and trucks, too bad more people have to die before this is fixed. I filed a complaint to NHTSB but they told me no investigation. I guess my next call is to my congressman, to ask why NHTSB gets away ignoring BIG problems with cars.
